Could you please make a version from witch you can control a ship, but in first person view? I would LOVE that.

Can this be made to have working LCD's on it?

edit:
you need to place that folder inside the mods folder, so you can load it ingame ;-)
you can rename the folder what ever you want, no need to stay at those irritating numbers, but if you upload it dont forget to change the thumb.jpg and it will change to a unique number again! ;-)

@ronin:
it isnt that difficult to make what you requested by yourself!
1. just copy the id of this page and search for it in your mods folder.
2. open it via winrar, 7zip or any other archive program and extract its contents into a new folder.
3. you can open sbc files with every text editor (i recommend notepad++, the file format is xml ;-)
4. look what he does and compare it with the default code from the original (whereever you installed)Steam\SteamApps\common\SpaceEngineers\Content\Data \CubeBlocks.sbc, where you also find your pilot seat ;-)
5. copy needed code of the pilot seat and replace the control station in your mod folder - but remember to change uid (in this game subtype id) if you want a new block, but then you need to define it in the BlockCategories.sbc too! ;-)
- its rly not that hard and the worst thing that can happen is that it wont work - so happy try&error ;-)

Thanks for doing this mod. Sometimes the simplest mods make the game that much better. I'm a little surprised that Keen didn't add this already since it's just a checkbox to the K-Menu. Could you also do the Flight Seat? Being able to have a full view of a panel of LCDs and use the toolbar would reall fit into one of my builds.

If this still allowed hotbar control access it'd be perfect

Is there any way to make this mod work for Small Ship usage too?
John Shepard 29 Jan, 2015 @ 6:20pm
maybe you could make it so that you can access things in your toolbar, that would be awesome!, cause im trying to make a brig on my ship, and i want to be able to NOT control the ship (gyros, thrusters ETC.) but still use things in my toolbar.

Separate mod, maybe? I might have to go ahead and rig one up, although it'll be interesting to see the comments on a mod that is exactly a vanilla block. ;-)
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 8:52am
I did consider that, but the way it is now the mod can be disabled without leaving any undefined blocks in the saved game, or throwing any warnings on created blueprints. It's also much simpler.
jtgibson 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:47am
Totally subscribed -- even when thrusters are disabled control stations could still be used to control gyros, which infuriated the crap out of me.

What would be nicest of all is if this "default replacement" version also added in a non-default "vanilla style" control station that allowed control, so that we could still thematically use cockpits in enclosed rooms (e.g., central core bridges), while still limiting control for most stations. (I would even go so far as to suggest that such a "Flight Control Station" would require slightly more computer resources than a basic station.)

You're welcome.

Thanks for not including modified cargo ships and making pirating even more of a tedious task~
Fistagon 10 Dec, 2014 @ 11:10pm
this is amazing, now my ship supporters can controll the other functions of my ship without taking controll of the ship itself.
very much needed thank u vary much,Shogun likes

i like this version for the reasons you describe, but maybe make a second mod for those who want to use "new" control stations and overload theire g-menu ;-)
but i just have to say thanks, hopefully keen will update theire controlstations later with maybe a fully funktional camera screen^^
Jay 4 Dec, 2014 @ 6:06pm
you could make a second version of the mod where it is a separate console, and keep this one that replaces it too.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 4 Dec, 2014 @ 5:45pm
Because this doesn't require me to make two versions of my ships, one with these control stations and one without. And doesn't leave missing control stations if people remove the mod (or if a future update breaks it).
There are still perfectly functional vanilla cockpits and flight seats.
Jay 4 Dec, 2014 @ 5:20pm
why don't you add this as a separate console? i'd love to use it, but many of my ships use this one, and i'm not willing to replace them all.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 4 Dec, 2014 @ 11:01am
It doesn't add a new entry. While this mod is active, any control station will be unable to fly ships directly. But if you have a remote control on the ship you could use that from the control station, and it would look the same as flying directly from the control station.

Also note that the change is not permanent, if you remove the mod the control stations will revert to their default behaviour.
Dragon-Raptor 4 Dec, 2014 @ 10:58am
Does this add a second entry? I ask because many cargo ships (and quite a few player-made ships, I expect) have these control stations as the cockpit, and thus if the station no longer allows flight control... hijacking will be a bit harder...
System1024 4 Dec, 2014 @ 9:53am
I like this mod because i hated when i made someone in my fac control turrets on a huge ship, and they drove it away into an asteroid. This was in survival!
RobotLobster 1 Dec, 2014 @ 3:56am
Then this is absolutely perfect!
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 30 Nov, 2014 @ 9:12pm
Yes.
RobotLobster 30 Nov, 2014 @ 4:55pm
Doe this still allow you to take control of turrets and remote controls?
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 30 Nov, 2014 @ 5:58am
The first-person view is for compatibility with the No Third Person mod.
Stone Cold Jane Austen  [author] 30 Nov, 2014 @ 5:56am
No, it's not the best view :)
I made this so that I could avoid accidentally moving my carrier around when getting into my drone control stations.

конечно здорово.. но такой "пейзаж" вызывает депрессию :tgrin:
