Then, unfortunately, it's not particularly successful as leather. If you're going for rough/nubuk/velour leather this one would benefit from a hairier texture. Adding scratches or trails to it would also help, since leather is fairly easy to recognise with such "defects" or traces of use.

I'd say the wooden handles are OK, but the structure finesse is too high. Randomised scaling could make this really painfull to look at.
