in multiplayer and with controller you sometimes cant reach the default buttons of the items anymore

could you make UI like the "[New]Coop Trading" mod does?
so that its an additional button below the item?

test: what does it mean to discard an item? Like remove it from your inventory? Does it work wtih turrets

You can use material to remove (discard) an item in which you have already purchased. The cost of the material depends on the item's original buying price and the item's level.
