With the new update I will stay subscribed though I may or may not be using this anymore but I want to say that for years this has been one of my favourite weapon mods! I seriously appreciate your work :)

Jayce 2 Jul, 2020 @ 2:32pm
Hey NinjaPirate, you've said a few times in the comments that you'd look at updating this mod if you were paid to do it, what kind of payment would you be looking for? Honest question.
🐲★►Denis◄★🐲 1 Jun, 2020 @ 10:59pm
I was told that this mod is outdated and there is a new version. You can tell us what the new version is called.
Vokun Vulon 3 Feb, 2020 @ 11:12am
@Sprinkles - I would like to argue that this has to be one of the issues with this being depracted, as back in the day, this was my main source of firepower for my small fighters, 1 shot with AP rounds would mulch thru large blocks with ease, and HE would leave small ships and drones rather sorry lookin
123 23 Nov, 2019 @ 3:14am
awesome block, awesome sound but less-than-impressive damage. HEAVILY outdamaged by gatlings and missiles, so not practical to use unless edited.
Alphanerd4 29 Oct, 2019 @ 8:21pm
Just wanted to say this was a great mod!! Sorry to hear you lost the raw files. Great design.
Uzuno 3 Oct, 2019 @ 8:58am
This was one of my favourite mods. Is there a newer version out there that does something similar that is still updated?
MehLewH 26 Jul, 2019 @ 2:24pm
danggggggggggggg
NinjaPirate  [author] 14 Jun, 2019 @ 1:35pm
That'd be 0.8 MB, champ
MehLewH 14 Jun, 2019 @ 6:29am
is the mod 0,8 GB?
T.W.K.II 1 May, 2019 @ 10:43am
Sad to see that this mod will no longer be worked on I really liked it....
This is one of those mods you hoped would last. Oh well thanks for putting it out there was fun to use while it lasted.
Sierra 7 Apr, 2019 @ 2:50am
So now i can have a 8.8 in space? :mkb:
Orvishana 22 Mar, 2019 @ 5:45am
This looks amazing! I've been trying to find a cannon so I can build a proper tank. Thank you so much for this mod!
NinjaPirate  [author] 18 Mar, 2019 @ 8:55am
Thanks, that means a lot. Really brightened my day!
Rook 17 Mar, 2019 @ 7:59am
@NinjaPirate Thanks for the time you put into this mod, and all the others. Lest the good be drowned by the bad, you have a lot to be proud of here. It's not commonplace that the work we do impacts the lives of others, and if it's one thing you can take from this it's that others enjoyed the work you did. So, thanks for that.
Sophieee 9 Mar, 2019 @ 1:57am
lmao it died *wave goodbye*
armored_saint 22 Feb, 2019 @ 8:53am
@ NinjaPirate - Thank you for all the work you have done in bringing your mods to us! Your labor was greatly appreciated!
Absolarix 22 Jan, 2019 @ 11:27pm
NinjaPirate, thank you. This was always a fun mod to use, and I appreciate your contributions to the community. Good luck in your future ventures, I wish you the best.
AegiusX3 3 Jan, 2019 @ 2:36pm
So the newest update finally made this gun show only the effect of shooting, but no impact, damage, or explosion. It still retains the recoil and tracer
TangerineSpaceRaptor 31 Oct, 2018 @ 4:16pm
Tbh.... that's a good point.
HalberdGuard 25 Oct, 2018 @ 10:11am
Thank you NinjaPirate for making these mods, and thank you Hexagoner (love the name) for calling out the stinkers.
So, my friends and I have loved your gun mods, NinjaPirate, because it seems like they are the only ones that simply add a reasonable weapon, without going way over the top; and because it fits the aesthetic of SE very well. I have a request, though. I have edited a few mods before, just small stuff like finding and changing values... But not on Steam games. Can someone tell me how I can, say, change the firing distance or speed or something on this mod, and have it stay that value? Steam seems to "fix" it after any change I make.
For that matter, anyone want to teach me to mod? : p
Hexagoner 30 Sep, 2018 @ 6:40am
What the hell people, it´s amazing to see the comments in this mod, sure, it's sad when a mod stops receiving support, but you have absolutely no right to demand anything from the author if he's just doing it for the love of it without getting any money... go ahead, you guys try to dedicate hours to something and not get a cent out of it, just to have dozens of angry entitled assholes demanding more and more....

Your attitude just harms the mod community, if I was a modder, I sure as hell wouldn't want to mod for SE if I know I'm getting into a community that will demand stuff from me like this.
NinjaPirate  [author] 26 Sep, 2018 @ 12:30pm
Understand that even in the event of me handing off my mods to an eager volunteer, they would be in the same boat. They would have to make the raw 3d models from the ground up.
NinjaPirate  [author] 26 Sep, 2018 @ 12:30pm
Super great that you guys are so passionate about this. I really mean that. I just want to be clear that I totally understood the hurdles involved with modding a game mid-development - I kept up with it for quite a while, too. It's just been long enough now that the raw files no longer exist. Therein lies my point - the baked, exported files contained inside the mod folders (of my other mods, battlecannon not included) right now *do not work* with the game anymore. They are straight up missing components and have their subpart hierarchies misaligned. To 'fix' this, the problem has to be addressed within the raw 3d project. That's not too complex for a mod author who still has his original files. I, however, do not! I painstakingly remade this 8.8cm gun from scratch, which is why it's the only one of my guns that works. I have no interest in doing the same with my other mods.
Vas 23 Sep, 2018 @ 4:39pm
I know you don't want to update anymore, so I'm going to stop following this, I've said my piece.
Vas 23 Sep, 2018 @ 4:37pm
You seen movies these days right? They're almost all remakes. Eventually, you run out of ideas, there's not enough to come up with. Society in its current state is making it hard to come up with new stuff when no one's coming out with anything new and just remaking old things.

Cannons aren't new either, they are a popular old idea. Cannons don't exactly have a ton of designs either, its a long large tube with big ass bullets. Why redesign it over and over?

But whatever, I myself am done with debating it. I know it sucks not getting paid for mods, and that the whiny ass bitchy community got paid mods shut down because they're a bunch of fucking morons who would rather spend $400 on CS:GO skins than $0.25 on a mod and are too incompitent to debate things in a way that would get modders like you and me a fair deal.

However, if you create something nice, and people love it, you're going to have to realize that people will keep wanting fixes, and the game rarely requires fixes.
Chaos Uncensored 23 Sep, 2018 @ 4:37pm
Currently it just all sounds kinda bitter, sure SE changes often but thats the devs trying to make the best game they can, modding for alphas/betas is never going to be straight forward and modders usually understand that.
And as far as "Other mods" like yours, no not really. I like to think i am a connoisseur of mods, i spend a lot of time compiling mod lists for games and the CSD weapons dont have any real competetors, nor are there any mods that really fill their space, probably why you have quite a few passionate individuals wishing you would do "something".
Not trying to dog on you but it does seem kinda assholish to not even let someone fix them, yeah no one paid or bought the mods but as a creator you do have somewhat of a obligation to the people you created the mod for, i mean i get the time constraints i no longer have time to mod for Arma but i did relinquish my creations to someone who wanted to upkeep them.
Chaos Uncensored 23 Sep, 2018 @ 4:37pm
I mean hate to go against Mod Authors but it is far easier to "Fix" a mod than create a new one, plus with games that can be modded and games like SE where you put alot of yourself into your creations mods become part of peoples ideas. I have used your CSD mods for some time and they have been been very usefull in many creations of mine sad to see them go, yes, but even more so to see that for some reason you wont let somone repair them. Authors that dont produce enough content to get paid do give up at times but most of them also hand down what they have so that the mod can live on.
NinjaPirate  [author] 23 Sep, 2018 @ 3:27pm
Even nicer from my perspective to see other people flexing their creative muscles and coming up with their own concepts and designs. It's all relative, buddy.
Vas 23 Sep, 2018 @ 2:08pm
Which is why its nice to include a license with your mod that lets people take over while being required to credit the original source and also require the mod to keep the same license permanently.
NinjaPirate  [author] 23 Sep, 2018 @ 9:35am
I wanted to make a mod for a game, not start a voluntary unpaid career in mod support.
Chaos Uncensored 22 Sep, 2018 @ 6:27pm
So sad when good mods die and authors give up.
Vas 6 Sep, 2018 @ 8:46pm
I've never actually seen a cannon mod as detailed and sexy as yours however. Why not allow someone to coop-mod with you? You fix up the model which is an extremely rare thing to have to do, and someone else does the code portion and SBCs.

But ah well, you've made up your mind I suppose.
NinjaPirate  [author] 6 Sep, 2018 @ 12:19pm
@Vas - I don't care about the idea of the mod. It's a space cannon. If someone makes their own thing from the ground up then it's theirs. I'll report a mod when it's my own model that's being uploaded by someone else.

"...just be nice..."? I'm not depriving anyone of joy, and I don't owe you anything. There are plenty of weapon mod authors out there who had made a plethora of gatling gun variations. I'm sure there are a number of them who have current and functioning gun mods right now, even. Surely they are by a mile more qualified to create and maintain a mod like this. I wouldn't feel good about handing off any work to anyone who doesn't fully understand and is capable of creating this mod from the ground up, because that wouldn't fix the perceived problem. And at that stage, they're better off doing just that. Then it's theirs and they'll feel better about it and everyone will see something fresh. Win-win.
Vas 3 Sep, 2018 @ 12:41am
Except to create their own work, to do roughly the same thing you did, you'll end up reporting them for stealing the mod if it looks too similar, its better to just be nice and hand off your work if you no longer want to maintain it. I usually include source with mods I make so that if I were to lost my data, give up and pass my work off, or suddenly die somehow, my work won't be lost forever.
TangerineSpaceRaptor 29 Jul, 2018 @ 1:42pm
@NinjaPirate
TangerineSpaceRaptor 29 Jul, 2018 @ 1:42pm
So you won't allow others to fix this mod, or?
NinjaPirate  [author] 28 Jul, 2018 @ 3:35pm
I prefer to encourage original work. It's impossible to guess to what extent the game will change again in the future, and what sort of maintenance these mods will require as a result. Take the recent changes to gatling-based mods (including all of my projectile weapon mods) for example - that required work in the raw 3D files to fix, which straight up don't exist on my hard drive anymore. I had to rebuild them from scratch. If someone else is willing to do that to keep these mods up to date, they have the skills and more to create their own work and ought to be doing so.

Besides, as of the moment it still works apparently.
Ghost 108 28 Jul, 2018 @ 12:25pm
Please hand this off to someone else I LOVE this mod.
NinjaPirate  [author] 27 Jul, 2018 @ 2:00am
I'm led to believe it still works, but almost four years after creating this mod, the game is still not guaranteed to stay in its current state, making the prospect of putting any work into this mod very unappealing. I'm drawing a line under it and moving on. I'm sure there'll be plenty of amazing mods in SE's future!
WovNyx 25 Jul, 2018 @ 8:36am
what happend here?
this is my best mod and it's deprecated...
so sad now
John Bee 24 Jul, 2018 @ 6:53am
Does work, sort of. On dedicated servers it will sometimes fire once then stop, or just refuse to fire
Firestorm🗿 23 Jul, 2018 @ 6:38am
@Ace still works, it is just that NinjaPirate does not want to update it anymore.
Ace 20 Jul, 2018 @ 4:08pm
Depreciated? But this was my favorite weapon mod. :(

The weapons looked and felt like they fit in with the vanilla weapons.
