This is one of those mods you hoped would last. Oh well thanks for putting it out there was fun to use while it lasted.
So, my friends and I have loved your gun mods, NinjaPirate, because it seems like they are the only ones that simply add a reasonable weapon, without going way over the top; and because it fits the aesthetic of SE very well. I have a request, though. I have edited a few mods before, just small stuff like finding and changing values... But not on Steam games. Can someone tell me how I can, say, change the firing distance or speed or something on this mod, and have it stay that value? Steam seems to "fix" it after any change I make.
For that matter, anyone want to teach me to mod? : p
Your attitude just harms the mod community, if I was a modder, I sure as hell wouldn't want to mod for SE if I know I'm getting into a community that will demand stuff from me like this.
Cannons aren't new either, they are a popular old idea. Cannons don't exactly have a ton of designs either, its a long large tube with big ass bullets. Why redesign it over and over?
But whatever, I myself am done with debating it. I know it sucks not getting paid for mods, and that the whiny ass bitchy community got paid mods shut down because they're a bunch of fucking morons who would rather spend $400 on CS:GO skins than $0.25 on a mod and are too incompitent to debate things in a way that would get modders like you and me a fair deal.
However, if you create something nice, and people love it, you're going to have to realize that people will keep wanting fixes, and the game rarely requires fixes.
And as far as "Other mods" like yours, no not really. I like to think i am a connoisseur of mods, i spend a lot of time compiling mod lists for games and the CSD weapons dont have any real competetors, nor are there any mods that really fill their space, probably why you have quite a few passionate individuals wishing you would do "something".
Not trying to dog on you but it does seem kinda assholish to not even let someone fix them, yeah no one paid or bought the mods but as a creator you do have somewhat of a obligation to the people you created the mod for, i mean i get the time constraints i no longer have time to mod for Arma but i did relinquish my creations to someone who wanted to upkeep them.
But ah well, you've made up your mind I suppose.
"...just be nice..."? I'm not depriving anyone of joy, and I don't owe you anything. There are plenty of weapon mod authors out there who had made a plethora of gatling gun variations. I'm sure there are a number of them who have current and functioning gun mods right now, even. Surely they are by a mile more qualified to create and maintain a mod like this. I wouldn't feel good about handing off any work to anyone who doesn't fully understand and is capable of creating this mod from the ground up, because that wouldn't fix the perceived problem. And at that stage, they're better off doing just that. Then it's theirs and they'll feel better about it and everyone will see something fresh. Win-win.
Besides, as of the moment it still works apparently.
this is my best mod and it's deprecated...
so sad now
The weapons looked and felt like they fit in with the vanilla weapons.
