@jaemissesmobo, access the sandbox settings, if I'm not mistaken in the Zombies section there is a hearing radius that is set by default to 100.
Radical Randy 7 Aug @ 4:10pm
Wow, feel like this is another mod that will get integrated. I guess vanilla rally groups just make it seems like they do this already.
jaemissesmobo 7 Aug @ 12:18am
is there a way to tweak settings for this like hearing radius?
NeganTWD9575 1 Aug @ 12:59pm
works for b41?
Dr.Disconnect 23 Jul @ 12:13am
it's very realistic by the way
Zareoph 21 Jul @ 6:14pm

Space Donuts  [author] 20 Jul @ 1:18pm
@Humaja, I'am not sure, have not used that mod yet , but i think it should work .
Humaja 20 Jul @ 7:01am
does zombies fear the sun work with this?
Juanito_presidente 12 Jul @ 1:14am
build 41?
John Dulanius 9 Jul @ 5:41pm
Strange, I could have swore that this was already default vanilla behavior. Mandela effect or just presumption
Hermago 1 Jul @ 9:52pm
me gusta la idea :auyay:
Space Donuts  [author] 30 Jun @ 4:30pm
@ Loccatpowersdog, It won't be affected by it. :)
Loccatpowersdog 30 Jun @ 2:54pm
Patch notes said something about thumpable objects but dunno if it would effect this.
Vl4dskool 30 Jun @ 8:27am
Hey, great mod!! . Question: how you make to look the game like in the gifs? it´s like filter or something like that?
Racoon 29 Jun @ 6:19am
I thought the reason why zombie sounds are not attracting other zombies has something to do with bandits mod since they don't seem to be attracted to the gun sounds of the bandits than a player
Space Donuts  [author] 29 Jun @ 3:28am
@Lavender, it is buuut, for some reason the zombies doesn't react to other zombie noise. They only react to player noise, this mod kinda let them hear other zombies thumping thumpable objects in game.
Lavender 28 Jun @ 11:04pm
wait is this not a vanilla feature

I remember this being in the game in the early days of project zomboid. It was terrifying and definitely made me want to stay in doors as much as possible when learning how to play. It added to the experience a lot. I wonder if they removed it because of the added difficulty or if their systems just changed so much that it eventually was forgotten as other things were worked on. Or if I'm just remembering it wrong. Thanks for this!
WingMann 27 Jun @ 5:05am
@David, you can set the strength of zombies in the sandbox setting. Hope this helps. :lunar2019coolpig:
Space Donuts  [author] 26 Jun @ 10:26pm
@David, it doesn't modify anything. everything is vanila, it only attracts zombies though things getting attacked by too many zombies with or without this mod will get destroyed quickly.
David 26 Jun @ 9:42pm
Does this cause doors and windows to break faster? I'm also curious if there's any mod that increases the amount of hp doors and windows have, I feel like it should take longer to break.
Torbaz 26 Jun @ 4:01pm
thumpa bumpa
Space Donuts  [author] 26 Jun @ 2:56pm
@Loccatpowerdogs, nope, it doesn't.
Loccatpowersdog 26 Jun @ 1:58pm
Does this make trunks closing really loud by chance?
WingMann 26 Jun @ 8:40am
I thought this was a thing in the base game. Great mod!
Kar33a 26 Jun @ 7:44am
any chance b41 pls
Epik_Pulsar 26 Jun @ 7:10am
i like thumping my friends to
Space Donuts  [author] 26 Jun @ 2:32am
@the wok this just listens for zombies thumping on things , the zombies still behave normally. If environmental attacks are enabled (which they are by default), zombies will try to break doors, windows, or fences when they notice something inside. But they don’t randomly cause chaos unless they start thumping first. It usually begins when a player draws a zombie toward a building, or when a zombie randomly starts thumping, that’s when others nearby join in. If they manage to break through and no one's actively thumping anymore, the rest just wander off and do their usual thing… until it happens again. Lol.
the wok 26 Jun @ 1:47am
what happens if environmental attacks is turned on though???
Rabbit 25 Jun @ 12:46pm
This makes so much sense I thought it was vanilla... until I installed the mod. It's SO MUCH better, and makes the thumping nearby actually a threat in a way that makes sense for zombies who are attracted to sound. Wonderful when paired with the default migration setting checked off (and paired with wandering zombies, scent of blood, starving zombies, reactive sound events, etc).
Ekorb 25 Jun @ 3:14am
im new my only respond is
but whyyyyyyyyy ToT
R o c k y J e t 24 Jun @ 6:49pm
Thank you. I don't know why i do this to myself but masochist is the closest word i can think of.
SIMBAproduz 24 Jun @ 5:58pm
I have 140 active mods, including knox event.
I disabled bandits because the last update (b42.9) broke it in several details.

Honestly?
I didn't feel any FPS drop with this "hump with Friends" active.

Seeing a crowd of zombies gather near a door where another zombie punches it is SIMPLY AWESOME.

It's the immersion detail that I tried to guarantee a lot in the sandbox and couldn't.
Mc Roidaaar 24 Jun @ 12:42am
wait, this is not vanilla already?
Dvailen 23 Jun @ 9:02pm
This plus Doors Have A Chance = bye bye safe places
OwOstrich 23 Jun @ 7:06pm
first we had people begging for an update to mods for build 42, now we have people doing the same for build 41. we've come full circle. /lh
Spaci 23 Jun @ 6:49pm
Build 41 soon?
Deathburger195 23 Jun @ 3:20pm
Any chance for build 41?
Space Donuts  [author] 23 Jun @ 12:50pm
@Abztracts we are planning to add it anytime soon.
Abztracts 23 Jun @ 10:58am
Sandbox settings?
On The Run! Don't tell em! 23 Jun @ 9:58am
his mod is great! I genuinely thought that this was already a feature! The closest ive had it work before is making zombies able to attack what they come across, but that often has a much lager catchment area and leads to SO many empty streets.
Karl the Joyful 22 Jun @ 2:16pm
I don't know how It never occurred to me that this wasn't already a feature. Can't wait to get eaten by an even bigger horde.
Space Donuts  [author] 22 Jun @ 3:19am
@SIMBAproduz, I actually did that before the sound distance thing and I love horde night and CBTS, but i dont want to fight the whole town or city. This is kinda inspired by TWD zombies they hear sounds, but we made it that they also hear other zombies making sounds so its not always the players getting targeted for source of the sound.

And we hope you like it. :)
SIMBAproduz 22 Jun @ 2:01am
I love it when you try to make this as "realistic" as possible.
Thanks for that.
I killed myself in the sandbox to manipulate every detail to get something similar.
The 750 sound distance helped.
But those shordas that are a little too close to each other and still bother me still. I want to make them spread out in a more random way.

Thanks for the mod.
