Amazing Mod! Can't imagine playing without it.

Wish List: Shift-Click to place the same tack on multiple tiles.

I often add the improvement tack all around the city center to get a better visual of the Farm / Mine / Woodcutter distribution.

i just figured it out. no bug in mod - only bug in my brain.

tysm tahlia 🙏

I just launched the game and tried and didn't have the same issue, maybe try disabling all other mods to see if it works then and if so re-enable the rest of your mods a few at a time until you find the conflict.

Hope that helps
Ada 11 Aug @ 6:20am
@Trans_Tahlia i am clicking them but nothing happens.

@V - FLY for me i can place lots of tacks just fine - but i can't remove them anymore
V - FLY 11 Aug @ 6:16am

anyone face the same issue?
Trans_Tahlia 10 Aug @ 4:29pm

Ada 10 Aug @ 1:50pm

Ada 10 Aug @ 1:48pm

per.thornstrand 6 Aug @ 2:35pm
Doesn't work for me (PC). Can't place any tacks.
bellls-worth 6 Aug @ 12:39am
This is an amazing mod, I couldn't play the game without it!
Trans_Tahlia 31 Jul @ 7:48am
Also having the same issue, having to take a picture of my tacks when I've finished city planning so I can put them all back when the game resyncs or if we reload the game for any other reason. Fantastic mod, just getting a bit frustrating losing my tacks all the time since it's always my friend who hosts the multiplayer games we play.
Tasty 28 Jul @ 5:12pm
I too would love a multiplayer fix.
When reloading the guest loses their tacks and get a copy of the host's.
Kid_Icarus1988 28 Jul @ 11:48am
Running into an issue in multiplayer (didn't use prior to 1.2.3 so unclear if it's a problem post-patch or if it occurred before); only the host players' tacks remain when loading a saved game. Interestingly it actually makes all of the host players' tacks visible to everyone in the game upon reload (new tacks are not visible), but loading a save removes all tacks from any player other than the host. Is this a known issue, and/or is there a workaround/solution being worked on? Best mod for Civ 7 by a mile, absolutely essential and I would never play without. Hoping for this MP issue to be resolved as well :) Thanks for the great mod!

This doesn't seem to be working following the latest update
Shaggy 24 Jul @ 1:48pm
Did it break with 1.2.3?
benlemmouden.issam 23 Jul @ 2:27pm
it doesn't work for me
knighthawk_32 23 Jul @ 12:01pm
I love this Mod. Any way to get a tack to flag Natural Wonders?
MrFoo 22 Jul @ 8:58pm
can you make this visible to other players in multi?

BEWARE: Changing <AffectsSavedGames> to 1 works, but only for newly started game and its future saves-reloads

For existing game <AffectsSavedGames> didn't help, at least for me
kiwikobold 11 Jul @ 4:16pm
HI, is there a way to do a "Do Not Build" tack that glows red when placing buildings like how they glow white on the location for the ones that are specified so then you can make sure you don't accidentally build where you don't want to for whatever reason
mk.doom 11 Jul @ 4:06pm
This mod works fine when I create a new game, but when I save and reload it disappears.
I have tried reinstalling the game, and only have this mod active.
knighthawk_32 10 Jul @ 6:36am
This Mod is great. Any way to get a tacks for flagging Natural Wonders and Goodie Huts?
The Pope 9 Jul @ 6:23pm
Super critical mod, can't imagine playing without it.

Is there any chance you could add a tack for generic building/quarter? Sometimes I need to build something two tiles away and I don't care what goes between, so I just want to tell myself to put some building there to chain to the spot I actually care about. Likewise, many unique quarters gain an adjacency bonus from filled quarters, so being able to tack "put a quarter here, it doesn't really matter what goes in it" would be super helpful.

@Sharkbait AU
Thank you for the hint - works great

Help !!

Not sure why my mods aren't working. I originally downloaded CivMods and everything was great. Once the Civ VII mods came up I subscribed to the three I was using and now nothing works. I tried to follow the guidance below but that didn't work. I deleted the CivMods and kept the Civ VII mods but that hasn't worked either. Do I need to delete the CivMod in it's entirety? I know more mods will be coming and I want to use the Civ VII mods from this great community but I'm really at my wits end. Thanks .
Sharkbait AU 6 Jul @ 2:05am
Got it to work on saved games :) Not on old games but at least for new ones.

Had to edit detailed-map-tacks.modinfo file. Change <AffectsSavedGames> to 1
For me the path was ....\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\1295660\3507297712\detailed-map-tacks.modinfo

Great mod but....

I had to restart steam to get it to work.
It doesn't work on saved games atm.

very good!
wltk  [author] 4 Jul @ 9:07am
@Vaines When you have the map tack chooser panel open, simply click the map tack you placed earlier to remove. You can see the “Click to delete” hint at the bottom of my second screenshot in this mod description as well.
Vaines 4 Jul @ 12:28am
Hello, first of all thank you for this mod, it is great ! However I have a question : I must not be looking well, but I scanned the comments and tried multiple keys, and I can't for the love of everything figure out how to remove a tack, can anyone help ? I'll update this comment if I find how to do it.
agi-max 3 Jul @ 6:17am
Don't know if this is possible, but it would be great if the tacks didn't get cleared in the age transition so I don't have to replace them.
Acid.Crash 2 Jul @ 1:20pm
One of the must-have mods. Thank you!

@scipiogarling
If you have installed mods with CivFanatics or Civ7ModManager before steam workshop comes out, you need to follow the instructions SLG posted below and subscribe here. Otherwise, simply subscribe in steam workshop. It works on mac.
scipiogarling 1 Jul @ 10:32am
I am confused by the comments. Can the mod creator confirm whether this works for Mac users if we just subscribe?
Dawn Patrol 29 Jun @ 4:49pm
@wltk Would it be possible to make a JOMT mod for multiplayer? 'Would happily contribute a generous donation to your coffee fund. 😉
SLG 28 Jun @ 3:11pm
Probably more details are needed here. What I did was, in Steam, go to Preferences... and then click the Storage tab. From there, click on the three dots at the upper-right, and select "Browse Folder" from the dropdown menu. This will open a Finder folder, and you want common/Sid Meier's Civilization VII/Civilization VII.

Then right-click on the CivilizationVII icon, select "Show Package Contents" and navigate to the DLC folder as described below. Good luck!
kenton.helvey 28 Jun @ 1:08pm
thanks wltk and stevegregg...i'll try that as well as i'm also on a mac. it's great that it's working though, this is one of my favorite mods for civ.
SLG 28 Jun @ 11:44am
I finally got this to work, but it was a different process on a Mac. First I deleted the mod folder from ~/Library/Application Support/Civilization VII/Mods, which is where I had manually placed it before, and which is where all of my other mods still live. That did not work.

Then I did a little more research, and discovered that the old mod folder also lives inside the CivilizationVII app itself, at CivilizationVII/Contents/Resources/DLC. I deleted that mod folder too, restarted Steam, and now everything seems to be working fine. Hopefully this will work for any other Mac users out there.
Kaitoushin 28 Jun @ 10:36am
@wltk can confirm it works now after following these instructions. Thanks!
wltk  [author] 28 Jun @ 10:01am
I can confirm the steam workshop version is working.
For those having issues with placing map tacks, you are under an outdated version before 1.2.2 update. You need to uninstall the previous version you get from CivFanatics or Civ7 Mod Manager. Delete "detailed-map-tacks" or "civmods-detailed-map-tacks" folder under "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization VII\Mods\". Otherwise the local
outdated version will override the steam workshop one.
In CivFanatics I'm no longer uploading the latest compressed file but putting an external download linking to this steam workshop page. This is easier for me to maintain long term - only need to update in one place. However, Civ7 Mod Manager is not able to recognize the external download link, hence giving you the error. Please get the mod from steam workshop instead going forward.
Thanks for all your support!
kenton.helvey 28 Jun @ 8:56am
@Kaitoushin...i am having the same issue, i'm wondering if the workshop is fully operational yet.
Kaitoushin 28 Jun @ 6:33am
Hi for some reason I can't place down any map tacks - I tried removing the old file I downloaded from CivFanatics, subscribing to the Workshop Version, I even tried reinstalling Civ 7, but the map tacks aren't showing. I can open the panel just fine, but I can't place down map tacks.
SLG 27 Jun @ 10:24pm
Forgot to mention that, in the Civ7 Mod Manager home screen, the "Install Latest" button is greyed out and inactive for this mod. Why would that be?
SLG 27 Jun @ 10:10pm
I first installed this mod manually and it worked fine. However, after the most recent update, it quit working--pushing the map tacks icon on the screen now brings up nothing at all. I tried to reinstall using the Civ7 Mod Manager, but it always just says "Error: Failed to parse filename or extension." Any ideas of what to try next? I'm on a Mac running Ventura 13.5.1, if that matters.

@CovalianKing there is a Civ7 Mod manager which made it simple and easy
CovalianKing 26 Jun @ 8:40am
Yeah finally can use the Steam Workshop, well no more manual mod getting which was a pain to do for constantly updating my mods
