@Pie - well that limitation of the system is sad! Well, checking somebody's canteen is an infrequent thing, so it should still be OK.
It took me an embarrassingly long time to realise that this reminds me more of an old walkie-talkie than a radio...

It's simple, got just the right amount of details, it fits TF2's style very well. I love this. Hope it gets added!

Very nice, I like the Art déco style, the retro spytech design fits TF2.

Possible mod?

Having the antenna from the top while would make more sense as a blatant radio but this is more spytech device.
Main reason though is it would more likely to clip with the player character and cosmetics, I had it on the side to help balance the details out so it's wasn't just on one side.

And sadly that can't be done as much as I would have liked to do that, community submitted canteens can only be on/off due to how valve sets them up, look at the krit or treat canteen as an example.

It's not bad, but I think it would benefit from having the antenna come out of the case at the top, rather than being attached to the side - the amount of details is IMHO too large for something that's small on the player model and really rarely looked at.
A minor improvement could be if the dial's colour or position would indicate the type of canteen equipped.
