I heard the fact Finland is nearly about to celebrate the centennial anniversary of its independence. December 6, 1917 is the date that the parliament approved the Declaration of Independence, which brought its autonomy to Russia to an end as Grand Duchy of Finland.

Because Finland is in Wargame: Red Dragon as a REDFOR country (though Finland is a liberal democratic state), it needs unique units for Urho Kekkonen: BMP-2 IFV (Mechanized Infantry), T-72M1Paiv tank (Modern Armor), and MiG-29 9.13 (Jet Fighter)

I think Finland's unique ability should be also Motti Tactics. Basicly giving a combat bonus in forested areas. While enemies get a debuff in forest areas (Being separated by motti tactics and raids in the night forcing more.. Just fucking read how Motti Tactics work if you are interested)

Thats not even a tenth of a percent. That means that 99.9% of the world isn't Finnish. How do we know this? Government censuses.

Now the best government censuses have a margin error of about 1%. So Finns make up .0912% of the planent, plus or minus 1%.

In conclusion: There's a 50/50 chance that Finland doesn't exist.

is it just me or does it feel like the UU for both finlands are wierdly switched. Mannerheim seems more like he'd have an older rifleman and Urho a machine gun replacement. Sorta old finalnd and new.

It might be that I was playing on a 22-AI earth map (the yet(not) another... one). I was only trying it out, so I had set it to .. king, I think? Anyways, I had about 10 AI friends, nearly 15 at the end. Neutrality apparently works wonders.

I guess that's the reason then, which would mean it's about 10 per friend on average.That should be okay in a normal game at the correct level.

Isn't it slightly too strong? I'm currently looking at 123 golden age points and culture per turn. Especially the happiness seems too high.

Happiness and culture income don't show up in the income of either but are still added up to the total. That could perhaps be clarified in the description. :) I like this version far better than the Mannerheim's - there's already enough aggressive or guerilla warfare oriented civs like the Ottoman Empire, Denmark or the Celts, and such ability of a unique unit would make Finland far more aggressive than necessary. After all, waging war has never actually worked out that well for the nation. I like the jäger since it has a very unique ability and it reflects the unique circumstances of Finland's history in the 20th century and fits the leader's trait perfectly (how much XP per turn though? Balance check). I also don't like the rune-singers of the other version, yet alone having them displayed in sauna? That doesn't make any sense to me, and Finland designed as somewhat faith-centric civ fails to reach out to my tastes as well.

@The Wanderer: I thought also of making it a replacement of Great War Infantry, and I accidentally made it a Rifleman replacement. Then I just forgot it so. I'll probably change it in the next update. For the war theme, I didn't find a good piece soon enough, so I took a Cold War -related music from Hans Zimmer. Suggestions are welcome.

It doesn't make sense balance-wise. You can get insanely powerful units without any risk.

I don't like Urho's war theme. It's doesn't give this finnish feeling, you know? I liked how you gave Mannerheim Finlandia as war theme. Both peace themes are great!
