Add in Garry's Mod please!
Probable Orange 17 Dec, 2015 @ 8:26pm
You can always just animate that train in there
Big Sauce 13 Nov, 2015 @ 7:45pm
I think this map would be a million times better if you had an AI train come through once in a while
ethonk 19 Oct, 2015 @ 11:57pm
This map is very convienient to work with, thanks!
Probable Orange 5 Jan, 2015 @ 3:22pm
All i really need is a long strech of railroad so basically all you need to do is just just modify your map by removing the building and make it longer.
Custard1  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 7:04pm
Well Hammer takes a while before you know exactly what you're doing. Before I began uploading, I spent around a year just casually messing with the editor. If your project isn't too complicated I can try and make it before I leave town for a few days...
Probable Orange 4 Jan, 2015 @ 6:47pm
yeah, I kinda gave up on that since the converter didnt convert the bsp file. I guess ill just learn hammer.
Custard1  [author] 4 Jan, 2015 @ 5:43pm
Umm how exactly? Cause I only supplied a BSP and from my knowledge, you can't edit the BSP to make a map
Probable Orange 4 Jan, 2015 @ 4:53pm
hopefully you dont mind that i modify your map a bt in hammer for my animation because i dont know shi about hammer. But i will credit you.
Custard1  [author] 13 Dec, 2014 @ 1:51am
New map now out! Find it in the collection!
Mx. Amber 12 Dec, 2014 @ 3:31am
No problem. I ask everyone I 'see', to write the links in BBCode. Many people do not know that BBCode works on Steam.
(I'm sorry if my english is bad, but i'm not used to write english)
Custard1  [author] 11 Dec, 2014 @ 10:07pm
Also, new map coming soon! Should be up by tomorrow!
Custard1  [author] 11 Dec, 2014 @ 10:06pm
Also, thanks for the url heads up HashtagMC
Custard1  [author] 11 Dec, 2014 @ 10:05pm
Originally it was sand dunes. But Hammer decided that they should look really dark and buggy for some reason, so I had to scrap it
Jaegar 11 Dec, 2014 @ 6:32pm
If you ever have the time, some sand dunes would be nice!
Mx. Amber 11 Dec, 2014 @ 4:28am
If i were you, i'd remove &searchtext=gm_longstretch at the end of the link.
And if you write it as [url=https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=352381599]Gmod-Version[/url] , you get this: Gmod Version
Wiklet Stalin 10 Dec, 2014 @ 6:21pm
I want a snowy pine forest.
Penguinsfish 10 Dec, 2014 @ 2:16pm
Awesome, now I can have scenes of absolute nowhere. Thanks.
nano 10 Dec, 2014 @ 7:45am
Hey there. Just wanted to say that your map is pretty good, maybe one day some of my ideas will require a lonely railway with a small station.

Also, I would like to ask you if you could make a map similar to this but based in a midnight city and with a long highway, instead of a railway. Something inspired by map like koth_king(a lonely midnight road surrounded with buildings, neon lights etc.)
Custard1  [author] 9 Dec, 2014 @ 11:23pm
I'm still busy with another map, and possibly another after that. Do you want snowy but flat or snowy pine forest?
Wiklet Stalin 9 Dec, 2014 @ 9:40pm
Hey can you make a snowy version?
Custard1  [author] 9 Dec, 2014 @ 1:04pm
Its already out. Go check it out in the collection
Marcus 9 Dec, 2014 @ 5:43am
Got a release date planned?
Custard1  [author] 9 Dec, 2014 @ 3:46am
Be sure to check out version 2!
Marcus 9 Dec, 2014 @ 2:43am
thanks, this map is awesome!
Custard1  [author] 7 Dec, 2014 @ 6:27pm
Nevermind, saw the discussion.
Custard1  [author] 7 Dec, 2014 @ 6:26pm
Also, ZappaBappa, if you want that three lane higway, can I have some more specific details? Do want it in a desert, or forest? Straight or curved? Dirt or concrete? The list is indefinite, but details like that help. Or if you want you can leave it to me and I'll come up with it all myself (which I'm perfectly fine with)
Custard1  [author] 7 Dec, 2014 @ 6:24pm
Thankyou for the feedback! I'll be sure to fix all the points I can! I have gone back and noticed those errors you mentioned, and I'm putting my next map on hold to fix them. As for details, I had alot of trouble with the displacements in the skybox (whatever reason they were turning out really dark) and after that I was so annoyed I left it. I'll keep you guys posted on progress on the next version soon.
Zappa Moltar 7 Dec, 2014 @ 4:19pm
Maybe.... 3 lane highway? Straight road.
PrivateerMan 7 Dec, 2014 @ 4:04pm
Sorry for all these seperate comments. Steam doesn't allow comments of 1000+ characters.
PrivateerMan 7 Dec, 2014 @ 4:04pm
Now onto the pros!
The map in general is very well made, ESPECIALLY for a first. The tracks are PERFECTLY connected in the skybox and the map itself, you made a good choice of sky, of props, and general feels of it being in the middle of nowhere. Since it's so wide-open, there's plenty of space for scenebuilding and what not. I can proudly tell you that those 300+ subscribers were well earned!
PrivateerMan 7 Dec, 2014 @ 4:04pm
A more important detail is that the rails are WAY too close to one another. I tested out the
proximity of them with TF2 train cars, and they are clipping into one another.
A more awkward suggestion is that there's a very noticable lack of various desert props, like rocks, cacti or eventually telephone towers going along the tracks.
Finally, the ends of the tracks in the skybox are a bit awkward. on the end with the tunnel, even at a distance, it's obvious there's no "blackiness" which masks the fact that there's solid rock in the tunnel. On the other end, it just ends at nothing, but I can't complain about that much since it is a long distance away. Would have been cooler if it curved and went behind some hills at the side or something. Still, it's my opinion on that.
Okay, nitpicking and s*itty personal opinion over.
PrivateerMan 7 Dec, 2014 @ 4:04pm
Okay, here comes a LOT of nitpicking, which I honestly feel you're gonna see as an insult or something (as they ARE mostly tiny mistakes). Here goes:
First, there are some minor placement errors with some props, like the stairs at the station, which are clipping in the ground, and the windows at the "ticket booth" (as seen on the 4th image) have no corresponding openings inside.
Next, I really don't see the point of that pulley at where the road ends. it's just looking weird is my opinion. Also, the road just ends there, it doesn't continue any further after the station.
Following up, in general, it would make little sense for there to be a train station in the middle of nowhere. Maybe add a Water tower or something? (Then again, it's not that hard to add that while scenebuilding, so just ignore this part)
Custard1  [author] 7 Dec, 2014 @ 2:29pm
Thanks. Also, I am open to suggestions at the moment, so comment if you want to see something new or a different version of this one.
PrivateerMan 7 Dec, 2014 @ 11:35am
I'll subscribe so I can check this map out. I'll give you my feedback afterwards.
