This thing is probably far out of date now.

Good addon but when the female models have the BLR the gun is in the middle of their legs.

I feel like the red dot sway a bit ?

I agree with many other people. A sight on the AR-15 would be greatly appreciated.

Ok, awesome.
Rectus  [author] 17 Nov, 2015 @ 11:45am
It should work just fine with texture replacements.
Piazano󠁳 ⁧⁧[G59] 17 Nov, 2015 @ 10:59am
If i have a texture for that gun, and i get this, will they conflict? Or will it add the scope on top of the skin.

nice ! :)

I agree with Wuuffles, something like this on the AR-15 would be taking "badass" to another level.
Vixx 2 Jan, 2015 @ 3:30pm
....Genius, didn't check that
Rectus  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 3:24pm
All the compiling tools are just wrappers for studiomdl anyway, so using a different one won\t help.

If you're using the armature modifirer, make sure you have the eye icon on it enabled, so it shows the rigging effect.
Vixx 2 Jan, 2015 @ 3:18pm
I may have to scrap the whole project, I checked every animayion too, just doesn't compile right, it'd be nice if there was a compiler out there besides Crowbar that doesn't require the half life 2 assets, 'cause I don't have tyhat game
Rectus  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 2:47pm
Not sure, but it could be some issue with th animations.
Vixx 2 Jan, 2015 @ 12:29pm
That is unfortunate
Rectus  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 12:27pm
I haven't encountered anything like that before, so I can't really speculate in what causes it.
Vixx 2 Jan, 2015 @ 12:21pm
I did, it doesn't look nearly as good or as realistic as yours does, but it works now, Another issue I'm having is whenever I compile my M9 all of the vertex groups of the mesh jumble the mesh in all different directions, the mesh and animation load and work normally in Blender so it has to be something with Crowbar right?
Rectus  [author] 2 Jan, 2015 @ 3:06am
I can't really think of anything specific that would cause that issue. Since your gun mesh works, you could just merge the dot mesh into it.
Vixx 1 Jan, 2015 @ 5:52pm
That sucks about your issues with this mod, I'm still having problems getting the dot to work in my reflex sight, I'm almost to the point of making it a physical mesh and just making that mesh fullbright, I've tried duplicating how you got it to work, but that failed and always set the dot mesh at a clockwise 90 degree angle to the model upon compiling, tried that several different ways with the same result, now I've linked a small mesh inside the the main sight's .smd with it's own material set and it still won't show up, any thoughts here? Also I really appreciate all the help you've given me with this, I'll be sure to credit you when the gun is released.

never mind, these things happen and it seems to be working for others, its all part of pc gaming.
Rectus  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 7:32am
Those specs are better than mine, and I have no problem running with maxed out settings either, so I guess that's not the issue.

the only mods it could possibly collide with, are ones that modify the BLR model, and even then it probably would just pick one of the mods.

Well, this is annoying, but I'm out of ideas.
Julle Naaiers 1 Jan, 2015 @ 7:25am
4 ghz quad core, 16gb ram, nvidia 780 graphics card, i've not had a game i can't play on max settings, maybe its conflicting with another mod, i dunno.
Rectus  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 7:17am
Hmm, maybe it's overloading your system or something. What are your system specs?
Julle Naaiers 1 Jan, 2015 @ 7:05am
not long after starting the game it would would freeze for a second then carry on, i restarted a few times but it continued, then when it froze it started to stay that way, after de selecting this add on in the menu it went back to normal.
Rectus  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 6:13am
Odd. At which point does the game freeze?
Julle Naaiers 1 Jan, 2015 @ 5:03am
for some reason this mod freezes my game
Rectus  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 4:19am
Try doing Object -> Apply -> Rotation.
Vixx 31 Dec, 2014 @ 11:14pm
My texturing is progressing, but I'm having an issue with the dot reticle not showing, it seems to load on the wrong axis no matter where I place the reference model, even after assigning it to the weapon bone it still compiles at a 90 degree angle to the right, any ideas?
Vixx 31 Dec, 2014 @ 8:56pm
I seemed to hae got it, now just some texturing and it's done
Vixx 31 Dec, 2014 @ 6:32pm
Tried that, didn't work, I think I may have forgotten to UV map the meshes, unfortunately nobodu can seem to tell me how to do that permanently within the .SMD model
Vixx 31 Dec, 2014 @ 1:30am
Noted, thanks
Rectus  [author] 31 Dec, 2014 @ 12:24am
It uses the Blender material name by default, so apply a material with the name of the .vmt to the mesh.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 5:15pm
So, animations are done, but I can't get the model to recognize .vmt's or textures, any ideas?
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:47pm
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5sr4ad7jpaa3l09/Screenshot%202014-12-30%2015.46.17.png?dl=0 I'm getting closer. now to delete all the other keyframes and adjust frame 1
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:45pm
Looks like the Source plugin doesn't pop up the controls until you have an animation in the armature. Making a keyframe using number 3 and 4 creates one though.
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:37pm
I don't think that matters. If you unlink the animation or select a different one, the mesh will just go back to where it was. And meches and animation get exported separately anyway.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:34pm
When I make a new keyfrome it binds it or something to the mesh, I haven't figured out how to make it not do that yet
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:27pm
Only select the animation in the exportables list? The animation .smd shouldn't have any mesh in it.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:24pm
My version of Blender is a little different than yours I guess, I've got a one keyframe vertext pose but I'm trying to figure out how to export JUST that and not the mesh as well.
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 1:08pm
http://i.imgur.com/W5MJBUr.png Here is the order to poke at things to get a new animation with a keyframe. You can select a keyframe by clicking on it on the timeline.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:57pm
I'd love to, if I knew how to do any of that, or even select a single frame of an animation.
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:52pm
The ironsight pose is probably just a one frame translation of the default pose, so you'd have to do just as much work as jusr creating a new animation. You can make one from the Action list at the bottom right of my screenshot.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:49pm
I'm in a catch-22 right now, I need to reconstruct the base ironsight pose to understant how it works, but I can't understand how it works until I see it reconstructed.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:47pm
I'd love to just modify the base ar15 ironsight pose, but it breaks that animation everytime one decompiles a model.
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:46pm
Yeah, the Blender animation system is pretty incomprehensible.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 12:41pm
It didn't. Apparently I'm incapable of understanding how these animations are supposed to work.
Vixx 30 Dec, 2014 @ 11:46am
I see, I was worried that keeping the gun model in the scene would spawn an untextured one in the players hands when entering ironsights, but apparently that is not the case, this simplifies things quite a bit, I'll let you know how it works
Rectus  [author] 30 Dec, 2014 @ 11:40am
Looks like you've managed to rig the gun to the armature. The way I did it was to first import (or add a new) the animation .smd into the armature your gun mesh is rigged to, and rename the animation to a_ironsight.smd. After that use Pose Mode on the armature to align the sight to the y axis. Then just export the animation.

It should use the gun armature if you've set it up right. http://i.imgur.com/HTO87gT.png
