If by mid-party you mean in the middle of an existing save:
From what i remember, the mod should work mid save, as it only changes foraging chances of Stone/ForestRarities categories. I remember using it on a existing wilderness survival run, and getting copper ore.
I will test this later in debug.
If mid-party means something else, please elaborate.

In b42 there is a very low chance to get iron ore through foraging (skill lvl7) in the ForestRarities category, from what i have heard its ~1/4000 to get 1 ore. Copper ore is unobtainable in vanilla (according to the wiki).

how get that ore in vanilla? foraging too or?
