Any chance you might expand this to let us build some of the other features of orbital platforms? Life support units, fortified walls, and ancient lights? Would like to keep my base more uniform but some items need replaced.

Does provide any difference over bridges in space? I haven't tried the heavy bridge but the wooden one can be built, it does look a little weird

@dylan629 , what are you talking about ? are you using another framework or mods ? cause i test this and works normally it does the vanilla a d 23k users dont talk about that problem , maybe its your list of mods , check it individually

this mod breaks all floors i can place them down but cannot construct them even floors from other mods

No, if you want to do that , install my other mod asteroid grounds , that mod allow you remove the asteroid terrain or build more

There's no point in building space platforms when you can't make ships in orbit.

Well, it's for those of us who don't want to make ugly platforms like the heavy one you're talking about.

You can make more stylish space bases.

Wouldn't it make more sense for these to be under the orbital tech rather than grav tech?

Also can't you already make the heavy bridges for support in space? Or do the platforms have a higher terrain affordability?

@RashoMcree Yeah, we're alike in that regard. I'd probably already have something to show for the years of learning game design and various programming language if I wasn't fatally allergic to the world having a 0.1% chance of seeing something that I made that wasn't perfect 😂

You have to repurpose one from a quest, Cza. Like for example, I took over one from one of the gravcore quests. When you land your gravship there and build a grav anchor, it becomes a map you own.

@Kaies You're right, many times there are already functions in harmony (I was learning to program in harmony), in my case I'm a "perfectionist" and I don't say it as a good attribute in me, but as a problem that bothers me with certain things that are not done the way I feel they should be, in fact I do a lot of reverse engineering with dll's from mods that don't use harmony to learn how it works and I respect that kind of work too much

Big respect, I have similar feelings about having 20 mods that all require their own dependency mod that I don't care about. There are a few mods I want but won't use because of that reason. Harmony is a tough one to avoid, though, because as far as I understand it's extremely tedious to expose a lot of vanilla's code without it, and I consider that one to be 'acceptable' since almost every non-xml mod relies on it. It's only only dependency mod I'll use.

That said, this isn't me trying to convince you otherwise, just sharing my experience! If you have programming questions feel free to reach out, I've also been taking the time to learn C# modding for Rimworld since 1.6 and would be happy to help where I can. =)

Hi @Fokson at the moment I am learning a little more programming for the rimworld framework, since it has limited functions and xml structures, possibly this week that I start I can implement that, the problem is that I do not want to use harmony because I hate mods that depend on others and have a horrible mod dependency root, at the moment I am still experimenting with that, but the idea is that :)

the remove way for tiles its cause if i add it in the xml , the game cant render the Edge Graphic Data , so that the only reason this mod remove the ground by "space tile" but is the same space of the original game just with some extra properties for the build menu , time to build and tag for build

@The Devout , its the game version , my mod extend the properties of existing tiles , for example the xml are defnied already , i just add some description and add some tags like where you can find the tile for build , cost /materials , tech requeriments ,icons, and in what kind of tag can build , like "voidSpace" and "platforms" , but the limitation is the way how you can remove it, in that way i only can reemplace with space

im curious, is the space tile its own version of the in game space tile?
like how in the tilled soil mod it adds its own version of normal soil?
or does it replace the select tile with the in game tile for space?

@Alpharius mmmm you need build with other kind of floor , at the moment my mod expand properties of already exist platforms , i mean , this is not a copy of the original platform , its the same entity with additional properties.

It works as you would normally remove the vacuum of space with other floors and walls of steel, you just build these platforms for the exterior or the edges to give a nicer design to the orbital bases.

@Redneck Princess Mmmm, you need a path for the pawns. In theory, you can build it from your ship or make sure there's a walkable path to the place where you want to construct.

Yes, but it looks different. Like I said, it's doable in dev mode, but it would be handy to be able to have my pawns be able to do it.

Sweet. I'm wanting to do an asteroid based pirate/smuggler hideaway for my next Odyssey playthrough, and that would be just perfect for it.

Can't you use the Heavy platform to fill in the hole's?
