Just a PSA, this mod is very, very memory hungry.
The mod is actually 2GB, not the ~570MB you might see on the sidebar.
That comes down to ~1,7GB in memory. That is, converted into dds.

DEFINITELY get the 2x version instead.
For reference, on a heavily modded game with over 500 mods, those 1,7GB make up ~24% of my texture memory.

You could make the 2x version separate (which would be awesome as almost all other upscale mods do 2x, so these would not stand out), and also, PNG compression will cut down the size by about 75% without affecting image quality in any noticeable way iirc, so combining those, you could have a really small mod that loads quite quickly and does not take up much space.

Thanks!

Okay once I get everything edited I will get the 2x done.
Mac 24 Jul @ 8:39am
That would be awesome.
femoral2 24 Jul @ 8:07am
Same for the upscaled anomaly. Maybe as a new mod so people can choose
femoral2 24 Jul @ 6:21am
I would prefer that. In graphics settings this mod is top 1 in memory usage, in a 300+ mod collection. I don't think people will notice the reduction
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 11:27pm
Do you guys want a 2x upscale so it's smaller size and less memory usage?
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 11:26pm
Graphics setting plus shows 1.71gb of memory being used by this mod. No way thats all your vram and ram
femoral2 23 Jul @ 8:59pm
Graphics settings+ says that this mod requires a lot of memory. This could consume all your vram and ram I think
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 4:08pm
Once I have all the textures edited I might make a 2x version if there is interest
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 4:03pm
I also did anomaly the exact same and have like 27k people download that one and no issues with the game crashing
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 4:02pm
It's a 4x upscale for every texture. There is another guy that did a odyssey upscale. Try that if you don't like this one
Hadley 23 Jul @ 3:24pm
Some of the Textures are at 8K, combined with other Mods that is definitely a reason for crashing. Maybe scale down some of these textures.
Crimson  [author] 23 Jul @ 11:50am
It's just textures. No code. Shouldn't cause any crashes. It could be an memory issue. Running over 200 mods with this included my memory usage is only 8gb
Kai 22 Jul @ 11:45pm
this mod crashes my game on load. have used the method of elimination to work out that it is ONLY having this mod turned on that causes it and ONLY having this mod off that prevents it. im running on a macbook pro so could be memory related or something?
Snuggl 22 Jul @ 12:12pm
Can't believe they'd pump out a DLC that they expect money for and ship it with such low quality garbage textures.
Brujo 22 Jul @ 6:48am
This mod took up 1.7gigs of memory according to graphics settings+
Mac 20 Jul @ 4:27am
Reducing this mod's texture sizes by 50% reduces the mod size by about 75%, to around 135MB as I have found out, and it is unlikely that anyone will zoom in that much to really notice the difference at that point.
Crimson  [author] 20 Jul @ 4:13am
Not all textures are the same size but most are 512x512 or 256x256. I think vanilla texture expanded are mostly 256x256
Aizuki 20 Jul @ 3:23am
hello got a question, does this equal texture size to vanilla texture expanded?
Crimson  [author] 20 Jul @ 12:05am
@awsomemeanthecool Yeah these are all 4x the original size so it's gonna be big. You can optimize the texture in rimsort so they load faster but that's about it.
Michael 19 Jul @ 5:57pm
@awsomeanthecool
That's.. not how workshop mods work. ESPECIALLY texture UPSCALES.
awsomeanthecool 19 Jul @ 10:28am
will you shrink the size of the mod eventually?
Crimson  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:58am
@Mac I will see what I can do. They wernt included in the Odyssey art source thats avail so thats why they wernt done.
Crimson  [author] 19 Jul @ 3:53am
@Wax I was able to find the issue. Posted an update that removes the Angled Gravship Hull Textures until I can fix them
Mac 19 Jul @ 3:27am
I meant the duck&chick&chicken flying animations, the bear swimming anim and such added to Vanilla with the 1.6 update.
Crimson  [author] 18 Jul @ 11:17pm
They have been done. Everything from odyssey has been upscaled
Mac 18 Jul @ 10:28pm
Is it possible for you to also upscale the newly added swimming and flying textures for the vanilla animals? Np at all if not, though.
Crimson  [author] 18 Jul @ 8:56pm
@Wax Im zooming in a out looking at my gravship and dont see anything. Im using camera+. If you using SimpleCameraSetting try Camera+ and let me know if that helps
Crimson  [author] 18 Jul @ 8:42pm
they are ai upscaled then edited by hand
kittysmugglers 18 Jul @ 7:26pm
I'd also like to know if these are hand-drawn or not
Snowcraft 18 Jul @ 6:51pm
Are these AI-upscaled, or hand-drawn upscales?
Crimson  [author] 18 Jul @ 11:04am
@Wax I will look into the issue tonight. Are you using a camera mod?
Wax 18 Jul @ 10:50am
Today's update is causing seams to appear on gravship hulls when zooming in and out. Removing this mod has fixed this issue for me.
HeydocHawke 18 Jul @ 9:59am
awesome mode
lucky_one 🍀 18 Jul @ 6:06am
Thank you, appreciate it boss! :er_heart:
Crimson  [author] 17 Jul @ 11:40pm
All Textures except for a few effects are now done. Next is getting the edges cleaned up. If you guys run into any issues let me know.
Gutterpunk 17 Jul @ 4:01pm
My hero
xanaxalex 17 Jul @ 3:32pm
devs need to hire u
Deepfield 17 Jul @ 5:43am
Thank you for all the upscale work!
RAD EMERALD 17 Jul @ 1:57am
YAY!
Crimson  [author] 17 Jul @ 1:52am
Update: Added all animals
Abra_Willow 16 Jul @ 3:06pm
Needed, thank you.
Crimson  [author] 16 Jul @ 1:38pm
I decided to post it as a work in progress bc I think the upscaled textures look much better unedited than vanilla textures. But I will get them looking even nicer
SgtDornan7 16 Jul @ 1:12pm
Fair
Crimson  [author] 16 Jul @ 11:09am
@SgtDornan7 because I haven't had time to edit all the textures. That's why it's a work in progress
tide{S}haper industries 16 Jul @ 11:03am
Well, most like from the upscale algorithm used @SgtDornan7
If you want to try an upscaler with better results or even edit the outlines by hand, I'm sure the mod-author would happily take them.
SgtDornan7 16 Jul @ 8:42am
question though, why are the edges of the black outlines so blurry?
