@Topher: 1) It's been a while since I played around with modding SE, and they have changed the organization of the files a bit. In the .sbc files, you will find one called VoxelMaterials_asteroids.sbc. There you will find the properties of materials spawning in asteroids, including "<SpawnsInAsteroids>". I don't know if it works, but give it a shot. 2) This isn't really the appropriate place to ask modding questions. Go to the Keen forums. Modders there will more that likely answer your questions, unless it's a repeat, in which case you will be flamed for laziness.

ok you seem like you would know how to do this. i want to spawn a solar system where iron only spawns on planets not in asteroids. the idea is that once your into space and have even the most basic station you do not have to go back down to a planet ever again. the only way i can think to fix that is to make to where iron only spawns on the planet and not in the asteroids floating around in space. i want to make it more of a trip to get iron from the planet and haul it back into space again to continue working. let me know what you think or if anyone knows how to do this let me know i would be more than willing to learn.

this new materials have any usses?
Sektan  [author] 21 Jun, 2015 @ 4:15am
I'll do

DX11 is it possible?
kind regard's

yes
Pez 18 Apr, 2015 @ 1:12pm
Do these automatically generate in world?
dskpnk 10 Apr, 2015 @ 12:03am
So here my problem, i would liek to use some pyramids or some house or colosum from the village and place them on Mars for example, the problem is that those asteroids are too big.

Is that possible to have a bersion with separate house/colosum/pyramid without this rly big floor ?

It should allow players to place like house or momnument on mars ! possible ?

snow ore? хахахахаха
Soulkeeper 13 Mar, 2015 @ 8:00am
do you know how i can delete a ore from the server in total wif respawn to ?
SpetS 6 Mar, 2015 @ 5:52pm
The Dune Asteroid is just big enough to cover the maximum range of the Spherical Gravity Genberator, I manage to put one right in the center to discover that it wont do anything in th esurface :s
MrEvan312 4 Mar, 2015 @ 12:57pm
Can this stuff be "painted" onto existing asteroids and "sculpted" via voxel hands?
SKEL 1 Mar, 2015 @ 6:03am
Can you add the tunnel to the middle of the planets on all of them pls?
SKEL 1 Mar, 2015 @ 4:22am
I can fly trough the planets. is that correct?

@ the whole "magma and grass don't work in space" thing: Space isn't actually cold. http://www.geoffreylandis.com/vacuum.html provides a good ball-buster on assorted tropes and myths about space. Needless to say, magma would stay hot for a very, very long time without an atmosphere with which to remove heat. Additionally, it is very possible for organisms to survive while exposed to the elements of outer space, as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tardigrade prove quite well; with that in mind, given how grass is one of the hardiest and most commonly-found types of plant life on the entire planet, a mutated species that can survive or even thrive on solar radiation in a vacuum isn't too far-fetched.
Kaelum 19 Feb, 2015 @ 2:20pm
The magma is pretty unrealistic currently, as it is completely solid, never loses heat, nothing conducts heat, and even then it shouldn't really be a good source of power compared to nuclear reactors.
Dragova 17 Feb, 2015 @ 12:53pm
This is a must have for any planetary developer.
PhoenixTheSage 15 Feb, 2015 @ 5:02am
@Crafter By that logic, snow makes just as little sense as sand since it's just loose ice. But sand makes perfect sense. Asteroids and moons are covered in a collection of dense particles as -well- as loose particles. It would not just "flote of" as even objects as small as asteroids have some gravitational pull as well as natural electromagnetic attractions. In that way snow might work as well, but the life support mod already adds ice and I think snow is just redundant.

Magma could be explained away as heated chunks remaining from a recently destroy planet for asteroids. Grass is a huge stretch in any case.

This is all mostly ignoring the fact these materials are obviously here for use on ghetto Planets/Planetoids. Unfortunately, just implementing them causes them to spawn in the seed. It would be nice if Keen made it so materials could be added in but not added to the ore generation algorithm.

crafter ur speling is raly bad it maks me want to dye pleese get good at speling
Sturg 14 Feb, 2015 @ 1:50pm
also you shuld totaly replace the gras with the texture from medieval engineers and maby make it so that the sticky outy bits on that gras work to cuz that wuld be awsome
Sturg 14 Feb, 2015 @ 1:48pm
i think snow makes more sense than magma, gras, and sand cuz if its realy sand it wuld flote of, its far to cold in space for magma and gras wuld just die
PhoenixTheSage 13 Feb, 2015 @ 8:07pm
I do have to agree with Crafter, if it's possible to take like Snow and Grass out of the ore spawning on asteroids, that would be better. Magma and sand still make sense though.
Sturg 13 Feb, 2015 @ 11:06am
yes i culd see them being prety cool for planets but the dont make sence on asteroids
Sektan  [author] 13 Feb, 2015 @ 11:00am
This materials are need for planets.
Sturg 13 Feb, 2015 @ 10:50am
can you make a pack with only the asteroids? cuz the materials dont seem to make sence in my minde. now i am thinking about it the culd be prety cool for making a bio domes ore something :D . but it dosnt make sence to spawn in space :(
PhoenixTheSage 13 Feb, 2015 @ 3:18am
I have an idea to make it possible, since they don't seem to be added to the procedural algorithm. It should be possible by making a cargo ship/encounter mod. Not only that, but we can add the natural gravity mod to it, could be great. I plan on testing it on my server.
Sektan  [author] 13 Feb, 2015 @ 2:13am
But with this my 4 materials is it possible.
Sektan  [author] 13 Feb, 2015 @ 2:09am
I don't know whether is possible random spawn asteroids from mod :) Try it, try explore world with this mod.
PhoenixTheSage 13 Feb, 2015 @ 1:51am
That's not really what I asked...I mean having them spawn in the world by default, without spawning them manually in creative. Hence "seed." I was just wondering if they did that with the inclusion of this mod or not...and if not if maybe there was a way too (which I think there could be with scripts)
Sektan  [author] 13 Feb, 2015 @ 1:32am
Use in game SHIFT + F10 and then all asteroids with " S - "
PhoenixTheSage 13 Feb, 2015 @ 1:04am
Is there anyway to get the new asteroid types spawning in the procedural seed? I would really love to have some occasional planetoids of which have gravity automatically applied with the natural gravity mod...

Please let me know, thanks.

Does this affect client-side RAM usage much?

awesomeness
[B.A.C.M] jason_goodrich2001 30 Jan, 2015 @ 5:21am
thank you, do you have plans for like a dirt material?
Sektan  [author] 30 Jan, 2015 @ 3:44am
You can download this https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=289477685 or with setoolbox copy from this map into your map. Only drag from one setoolbox window (this map) into second setoolbox window (your map).
[B.A.C.M] jason_goodrich2001 30 Jan, 2015 @ 2:58am
hey can you please tell me how i can get a copy of that magma planet? I,m trying to make a planet with a magma core with out having to use voxel hands thank you very much
Zeinath 23 Jan, 2015 @ 7:52pm
@Reptavian Copper, Tin, Alloys like Aluminum... there's a lot missing that would fit in really well.
Broke Dick Nick (Blame canada) 21 Jan, 2015 @ 10:02pm
@reptavian Unobtanium
Derp & Junk 5 Jan, 2015 @ 7:52pm
Agreed, this game really needs copper, there are other metals too but copper tops the list. Some other choices for metals to add, Niobium, Molybdenum, Aluminum, Tin, Magnetite, Lead. I could go on but lets throw it out to our fellow SE fans. So how about it folks, what other minerals are missing from this game?
jb_aero 2 Jan, 2015 @ 3:58am
Will it be possible to find them in Exploration?
Stop! 22 Dec, 2014 @ 6:56am
do the ores spawn randomly in a new world or do you have to spawn them in ?
Geneticus 21 Dec, 2014 @ 7:09pm
You should do a yellowish tint variation on the grass one and make it copper ore.
Does Sand give Silicon? Ice is nice but Magma is just hot rock..... so you have a hot rock reactor?
licflagg 18 Dec, 2014 @ 8:55pm
(off topic) nice model of the guardian using magma (doom 3). nice touch
Tom 17 Dec, 2014 @ 4:23pm
Pretty cool but shouldnt the snow be ice considering space is too cold for snow?
Rimshot 14 Dec, 2014 @ 8:28am
thank you
Arufon 13 Dec, 2014 @ 6:56pm
This is interesting but its making no sense with all these materials can be refined into ores lol

and maybe the snow isn't white enough
Sektan  [author] 13 Dec, 2014 @ 4:41am
I have prepared large surface for snow :)

I can not say what I'm working, because there is a person who tries to copy my ideas, badly copy :)
