Yeah it is true that if your faith is genuine and God does save you you won't lose your salvation but it doesn't mean you should still live as you did before and sin as you please.
Beliving doesn't mean you just have to accept God exists you actually have to turn away from your sins be repentant of them and ask God to save you and be Lord of your life.
Citing apostole Paul demons also believe God exists and they tremble theistic believe in itself doesn't save you. And you DO have to change like one of the main points of salvation is receiving a new life and Holy Spirit which will then guide you through your life and make you concious of your sin.
