Looks like Keen added some powerful waypoint stuff into the remote and programmable blocks. We can make them a lot smarter now!
Should've browsed the workshop a bit more beforehand :D
That said, Drones <3
Ah! Very good point, thank you. When I set these guys up I was in a hurry to beat the drone rush, and never really used him in a game, besides getting him to work as he is now.
Sorry, bad english. I'll try to explain in detail. It follows you at 50m and stops at 10 proximity, absolutely right, but when it approach you to 10m and stops if you fly away more then 10m away from it without leaving Front sensor detection box it will not resume it's following routine, because re-enabling the front sensor is not enough. If sensor set to detect player it will only detect you when you enter it's detection box, if you are within it's range when sensor is offline and you enable the sensor - it will not execute detection action (engage thrusters - in our case).
I'm not sure what you mean, please explain further.
By design, Helpy flies towards you until he gets close, then he stops (stop sensor) so he's not constantly in your way. If you fly out of his 50m detection range he will also stop. If he kept going once he loses the player, he'd crash into an asteroid or be lost in space.
