@Denver the reason this isnt a vanilla feature is because it was removed in early versions of Terraria considering the fact that players could dupe items when 2 or more players were grabbing items at the same time.

Magic storage would not need this anyway because it already has live multiplayer support, I use that mod and played with a friend just a few hours ago.

Finally... I'm tired of waiting for my friend to finish using the chest because he's gone, and the character is still holding the chest "hostage".
