Well, I use a bunch of other clientside weapon, player character, zed, sound, screen filter (no film grain), loading screen, lobby video (and maybe i forgotsomething) mods and it works just fine...
The only clientside mod i have mismatch problems with is the one for changing the main menu background, so...

It'd be possible, but you wouldn't be able to play online with it (you'd get a Mismatch Error if you tried).

@Lazy Engie: Do you know how to use Workshop subscriptions?
1. Subscribe
2. Run the game
3. Wait on the title screen for "downloading blah, etc" in the top right corner
4. Restart the game so it knows it has it downloaded this time
5. In the single-player Mutators tab, find and add the mutator(s) to the active list on the right.

@marshmello: That screenshot is when I did this same pistol in L4D. Originally, it was made from parts of a lot of pistol models and textures found on Gamebanana, with the bits I liked all fused into a single gun.

@FlabbyBird: Typically they are used in solo, but people running their own servers (with SCRNBalance, ServerPerks, w/e) can use them as well.

@Jae²: With one exception, it results in your game being unable to connect to servers. Unless a backup was made and you restore that, it means having to re-verify your game's cache to get the original(s) back again.
The one exception to that blanket rule that I've seen so far is the fixed-scope S.P. Musket I have in the Workshop, and even then I think it's only a matter of time before TWI decides to just fix the thing themselves and my version no longer works.

I had figured that would be the case, similar to how CS:S servers can enforce sv_pure, anyway, how severe is the prevention? Reverting files to default? Inability to connect to certain servers?

@Jae²: It isn't so much a problem to impliment as it is a problem with mismatch errors when attempting to use online (the game checks whether the gun's files you're using correspond to those on the server, to prevent errors and hax and so on).

I was talking more about a replacement for the default berreta model, yes. Hoping for a more crisp replacement for the jpeg qaulity default.

I haven't seen many replacers for KF, i was wondering how much of a problem it was to implement.

@Jae²: I could, but doing so would cause problems trying to play online. It'd only work in Solo, and they wouldn't have the same functionality (the LAM and the slide-locking coding wouldn't work).
Unless you mean for a mutator that makes players spawn with these instead of the 9mm Tactical; yes, that should be possible, but mutator coding is still largely a mystery to me. Will attempt.

@Baron of Morkof: Dampam is correct; custom guns won't give you perk experience, unless you're playing a custom server with the gun's lines in SCRNbalance.ini.
Putting something like "PerkedWeapons=2:NineMMPlus.NineMMPlusSingle:D$AP" with all the other weapons should ensure that it does.

I added 1 of these mutators (which add pistols in shop) on my server and now I can't ''upgrade'' my perks :(
Can I do something else than turn off mutator?

@OrangeLightning: Right. What the animation is doing however, is the hand motion for decocking the slide, not pulling back the hammer. I was too lazy to take that part out of the anims, and coding the gun for "1+15" loading didn't work out.

if you reload before the magazine is empty, there is a bullet still left in the firing chamber, and therefore the hammer doesn't need to be re cocked...

@Despara: True, but only Source Engine games can do that, so far as I know. Otherwise, I could use a client-side hacked version of a gun with infinite ammo, no reloading, etc, and the server would be none the wiser beyond messages from my computer saying "Player Barrage o' Fail shot this many times in this direction from this position. Figure out what he hit and do so in less than a millisecond and send your results to everyone else's computers so they get the same results"

@Lewis: To use it in a server, you need to add the gun's lines to the same package or whatever that other guns on your server uses to load. Usually those are in ServerPerks.ini and SCRNbalance.ini, hence the lines in the description.

@#SirJr175 [TTT]: A skinned version wouldn't really be possible; the model using those textures is entirely different from the custom one. At best it would just be a recolored version of the default 9mm, and while the LAM code could be adapted to it, the slide-locking stuff would not (those are separate animations altogether).

@Nemesis ze legend: If you subscribed to it using the Workshop, keep in mind that you have to: run the game->wait on the title screen for the "XXXXXX Downloaded" message that appears in the top right corner->restart the game->use the mutator(s) to add the guns to either your starting inventory/trader menu.

It's really gay you can't just use the skins regardless of who's server your on. I don't expect other players to see the skin obviously but it would be nice if even I could see it no matter the server.

I doubt anyone needs the laser and the flashlight at the same time, since the laser dot is barely visible when the light is on, and the light spot helps aiming quite well by itself. Not to mention both of them willll drain the battery even faster, so it's just an extra (and unwanted) push of the button, imho.
