Dedicited Server??? Locate and open “addonconfig.cfg” in “<your server directory>/left4dead2/cfg”
Change all “RestrictAddons” values to 0.

It's possible another mod you have is conflicting with this one then. Check your addons menu for any addons with their name in red, and if this one is also in red.

If you are playing VS, most mods have been disabled by Valve, including this one.

Possibly because your fps was already so low, and you're so use to random fps drops, that one happening after you take adrenaline just went unnoticed. That or it was just a small fps drop. I think it depends on a particular setting.

The mod linked below doesn't remove the infected vision, no. You can search 'infected vision' on the workshop for mods which perform the intended effect.

It should work on most servers as I don't think many servers force consistency on particle files.

What I'll probably do is update this mod at some point to include the infected changes as well, since they are within the same file, it'll be somewhat of a nuisance to create a separate mod for it.

I clearly don't play versus enough if I never noticed how damn framerate heavy that effect is. The linked mod includes this one, so you can just download it and put it in the addons folder.

If you mean the sort of screen bash effect, I do believe the particle effect exists within the same file as this one. I'll give it a look and provide a download later.

i know this is old as all hell, but do you know if there is an addon to remove the effects you get when shoved as infected in versus? my pc is amazingly shitty and i drop all the way to 1fps. i think i never seen the proper effect for that...
