@Mr Sweetkandy - thanks, yes I keep dibbing into this one adding bits and bobs building up the detail - it's actually quite therapeutic to work on. I've gradually made silver much more prominent, orange too. As its abstract I'm not sure if I will ever feel totally convinced - in fact I'm starting to think about knocking back the detail as it has become a bit crowded. Thanks for the comments, its nice to know people still look at the old work!

Looks neat. :) I particularly like the grey(/silver) color, it gives an interesting feel to the skin! However, I think that the gif for the multiple possibilites moves maybe too fast. I was interested to see what it could look like, but my eyes can't follow that pace. Maybe it's just me though. Doesn't change that the skin is interesting. To be honest, when I frst saw this skin, I was not convinced. I'm not sure but I don't think there was silver when I first saw it, and somehow I think that this color makes it more interesting. Also, the last version seems different, using more details (dots and stuff). Now I'm convinced! This skin looks sweet. :>

I like the idea of the changing patterns but personally, because the pattern is just rotated all of these skins tend to look too abstract for my tastes. I personally don't think it's bad, but it's not something I would use. that's the way I judge skins "Would I use it?" and if I say no, I can't justify hitting yes. Sorry, but very nice work.

ah - the pattern itself is not actually random generated. Its a single pattern, however each gun that is created will appear to be random as a very small portion of the texture is applied to the gun itself, plus in addition to the texture being fully tile-able there is also a rotation applied to it which has a range of between 0 - 115 degrees, creating further variance.

I've fiddled with those, but how do you get it to affect random variants? Do you have to upload multiple variations?

Is there some way to set the x/y/r to change per weap?

Skin positioning parameters are set within workbench. They are in the X and Y settings to the left side of the screen.
