how about a half sized large version for small large ships / large small ships {however that made sense for large ships that are small} med-small large ships.

like the size of the arc furnace maybe?

@DerFedus: Sorry, thats to much math for me :) I usually use "try and try" untill I think it turns as I want it to. If someone know how to calculate it then I would love to learn it.

by the way.... Do you know the relation between mass and ammount of gyros?... I have more than 20, and the ship won't tilt a bit.

Ok, don't worry, Just built a Big small ship... and have to get a lot (really a lot) of gyros just to make it turn.... like a giant brick.

this is a good way to save space in a build, use these gyros and you will have a sleeker design instead of having rooms dedicated to vanilla gyros.

I love this gyroscope...aside from one thing. For as big as they are, and that they require a 2x2x2 contiguous space, I wish they would be more powerful (with cooresponding cost increase).

So...any chance of making a version that is 2x or 3x more powerful, but also costs 2x/3x more in materials and power?

Also, I know the Advanced Gyroscope is an option, but in my opinion it is very overpowered for its' size and I do not want to include it on my server.

I was searching for "gyro", "8" etc. and didn't found it. I didn't notice, that "gyroscope x2y2z2" is the right one.

@commander.bert: It is for all modes. All my mods have a white frame around it "maybe easier to find then?". Try search for it in the searchbar. Check to see if you really have the mod installed and in use in the world you are playing in. Please report back on this so I know :)

I don't believe the way SE blocks work that propper symetry is possible with even numbered blocks. hence why most blocks are odd...

@Inferi: I understand where you are coming from. I can understand some things will be maybe more however depends on how you look at it ( though not saying you should do it a certain way ). Newer technology advances and they get smaller ( tho usually more expensive ). But it wouldn't be realistic for it to cost the materials of 9 gyros as it would be extremely large and defeat the purpose. None the less great idea!:)

@Chex: I think I will change this in the future. I do need to check the weight of it and I dont think it should have exacly everything X size from 1 gyro. Some things do not need to be in there as many times as a 1 X 8 would have. I think I will increase Motors "larger components need stronger motors". We dont need as many steelplates due to the fact that there is only one foot and alot of freespace inside gyro "but I would add to the gyrodisk if I will add". I think you understand how I was thinking. It will however undergo some change in the components. Cant say when i get to it.

A nice idea..however could you change the component cost to something more realistic? 8100 steelplates, 360 construction, 36 large steel, 18 motor, 180 computers? This would be the resource cost of 9 "vanilla" gyroscopes. Then more people would probably use it because of that as well.
