To fix it, add -- (two dashes) to the beginning (line 202) so it reads
--GameEvents.PlayerCityFounded.Add(LGF_OnCityFounded)
Then go to The Unity Project (v 8).modinfo which is at the top level folder "The Unity Project (v 8)" and change the MD5 hash for the Traits_BELIEVERS.lua (line 115) to F2C56EC120029BF5318BFF4DF86931EE
At this point, I'm as much to blame as anyone. Thank you for the idea of this and the work that must have been done to create it. I hope you have not been killed or something. If not, please find it in your heart to update the bastard
Need to be adapted for RT !!!
This is an issue that occassionally occurs with the steam workshop for all games. While I'm not positive of a fix, you can try resubscribing. Some people report that it's caused by having too many mods subscribed, others say you need to validate steam files. Sorry I can't help that much.
@jesseyk2
I have no clue what a "custom scenario" is, but so far the only way to get rid of the default sponsors is to manually select which sponsors to play with under advanced setup. Do not allow any "random sponsors". There is also a steam mod that disables the default sponsorss: specially designed for people with a ton of modded sponsors who want to be surprised without it being a defaulty.
I absolutely agree with you. They are pretty different in terms of gameplay but I wish that they would have done a slightly better job with it. did something to snag the spotlight a little longer so we could have a better modding community for the game. SMAC mod would honestly save the game for me and make it soooo much better. But you have a lot of good points and made me think a little different about the situation but unfortunately in a perfect world, they would have released more DLC for the game. Extra sponsers would do it. I really dislike the ones avaliable. (pardon spelling mistakes. English not first language)
But wouldn't SMAC factions make it better, yes? And anyway people still play RT, but they also play Civ 5. Think of it like Civ 4 Col. It was a total conversion, basically, that's what BE is too, it's just much much better than that (with RT anyway). It's its own unique game that's different enough from Civ 5 that one might play either one depending on mood.
In addition, while Civ BE:RT is not as good as BNW, mods can make it just as great. In fact, people will move on to Civ 6. Maybe not instantly, but that's where the crowd will be, not in CIv 5, but BE:RT will keep its popularity, because it's different. Civ 6 will be the successor to Civ 5, but not to Civ BE:RT.
Hope that was convincing.

CIV 5 was crap compared to CIV IV BTS yet people gave it a chance. Don't see why this can't get its chance with a second expansion
