ludicrous speed is a whopping 237894728472742374279472642764287642624626482764276732648627364276426847627462987463239346kilometers per second
The Doctor 8 Nov, 2024 @ 9:38pm
@ Of Dragons he means 265.2 meters per second no where near ludicrous speed
⛧Panzerhenker⛧ 7 Nov, 2023 @ 10:52pm
Stay away from the “mod”

This "mod" causes your ships to become uncontrollable, with a random speed boost the ship cannot be controlled with SpaceAnchor or anything else!
CynicDragon 29 Jan, 2023 @ 12:43am
Your description says the speed is 265,2? Not an actual number, wrong comma placement, no idea what it's so post to be
Кендер V 12 Nov, 2021 @ 2:53pm
can you add a speed dependence: a linear increase in resistance over 80m/s from altitude (100m -max, 15000m-0)?
MadMonkey 10 Apr, 2021 @ 9:04pm
now that is a good idea good job:steamthumbsup:
Zelric 10 Nov, 2020 @ 10:29pm
Thanks for the mod.
Shaida 16 Apr, 2020 @ 5:45am

Gooubliette 21 May, 2017 @ 10:59pm
plaid is slower than ludicrous speed
Cyrect 11 Jan, 2017 @ 5:28pm
How does this effect inertia calculations? I remember in the past having issues.
Kleadron 5 Dec, 2016 @ 10:06pm
plaid should be 999999999m/s
Spectrum_Gemini 29 Nov, 2016 @ 8:14pm
@barryk2 Im so sorry to hear about your loss of intellegance, but no it would take years to get to other systems not miliseconds
MikeOxabigun 16 Jul, 2016 @ 11:52pm
I love you. :steamhappy:
Bits 4 Jul, 2016 @ 8:09am
@Massboom It is actualy speed, nothing to do with distance
Eliseu10Anos 19 May, 2016 @ 2:50pm
kkkk
Raven4K 24 Mar, 2016 @ 4:11am
I think ludicrous speed should be 4096m/s and plaid should be 8096m/s

@40oz to Freedom
Europe, mate.
40oz to Freedom 5 Mar, 2016 @ 12:33pm

Go to Plaid.
Soya 9 Oct, 2015 @ 10:08pm
Massbloom... I think you're mistaken...

lightspeed is in fact a mesurement of speed. 299,792,458 meters per second.

I think what you're meaning is light year, which is a measurement of distance dispite its name.
Azami 9 Oct, 2015 @ 5:48pm
It's funny because lightspeed isn't a unit of speed it's actually a unit of distance :3
64BitSam 27 Aug, 2015 @ 3:07am
good mod, good name:steamhappy:
Pharap 29 Jul, 2015 @ 8:49pm
It's a good thing astronauts wear helmets.

hehe space balls
Raven4K 21 Jun, 2015 @ 7:39am
one question what is Plaid speed?
ProtocolPalpatine 10 May, 2015 @ 2:27pm
can u make anotherm od where lare ships and small ships speeds are reversed?
Raven4K 29 Apr, 2015 @ 4:19am
so dose it also increase players suit speed to like 280 or faster?
CodedCrow 27 Apr, 2015 @ 8:08am
there is a mod tht completly removes the maximum speed of everything. so ur not even limited to 250m/s u can go full 150,000,000,000 METERS PER SECOND!!!! or 150,000,000m/s or close to tht idk i forgot the games maximum speed.
Iueras 14 Apr, 2015 @ 10:45am
FYI for the author... I just added this to my existing multiplayer game I host for myself and a friend, and the speeds went up exactly as expected. It appears this now works with existing saves. Thanks for this!
Sausage 25 Mar, 2015 @ 3:19pm
I left my skin in Albakerqueeeeeeeee!
Delta 18 Mar, 2015 @ 9:31pm
Well..... I never......
Corporal 50 call 17 Mar, 2015 @ 4:07pm
more speeeeeddddd
lol
Bill 14 Mar, 2015 @ 8:38pm
good to see someone modding in the right direction...faster, not a bunch of skyboxes that limit speeds to a monotonous crawl...

Given the size of world with procedural generation, there's no reason to limit speeds. I hope to see speeds in excess of 1000m/s in the future...

lordkalem 22 Feb, 2015 @ 7:31pm
works beautifully XD
Grainz 19 Jan, 2015 @ 10:28am
THis is the best mod ever! It increases sopeed, but more importantly, IT REFERENCES SPACEBALLS!!!!!
TigerSoze 15 Jan, 2015 @ 6:23pm
finally. a higher speed limit. :D
Jeff the Hobo 14 Jan, 2015 @ 2:32am
Seems Ironic that the mod named Ludicrous speed is the one that increases the speed reasonably without going too fast and reducing the game to a glitchy mess
AEON-512 13 Jan, 2015 @ 8:19pm
OMG YES

"But sir, the ship can't handle speeds like that..."
Captain X (PhoenixX) 13 Jan, 2015 @ 12:54am
ive got this on my ds but not getting any speed difference - there any special requirements or is another plugin conflicting?
Samodov 12 Jan, 2015 @ 7:43pm
Yes, I'd like to report a bug.

While using this mod, I finally decided to use this feature and flipped the lever. But one of my commanders accidently hit it because he wasn't buckled down, and now we've gone plaid.

Is there any way to fix this? :(

well keen stated that the new "infinite" maps have in fact a radius of 6AU
1AU is the so called Astronomical Unit which equals the distance between the earth and the sun.
the rule of thumb is that it takes the light of the sun around 8.5 minutes to reach earth
so if one were to mod the speed of light into SE you would still have to fly nonstop:zeppelin: for around 1.7 hours to cross the whole map from end to end (where "end" is propably relative as keen only stated that the position algorithms now work accuratly in this area. it might be that you still get out of this area though this is quite unlikely with vanilla speed):Kovac:
SunPowerGuru 10 Jan, 2015 @ 5:06pm
If you went faster than light, you would go backwards in time and eventually end up playing on a Commodore 64 with 8K of RAM. At this point, the game would crash since it hasn't been created yet, the universe would come to a screeching halt, and, one by one, the stars would wink out.
