Yes, I am aware this is severely outdated. Nothing I can do now — the files are long lost, and I cannot download it either. I wasn't really anything special TBH. I might update it sometime in the future, but don't get your hopes up. Sorry.

People are commenting that this map doesn't work anymore but I haven't a clue what they are talking about as I've just finished the map myself.

Pros:
I enjoyed that all of the secret spots of the map are included and having played doom I knew exactly where to go
I also enjoyed that the enemy placement was very accurate to the actual enemies in the game

Cons:
Mostly basic level. Not really much packed in but thats due to accuracy of the enemy placement in the source game and some of the kills were creatively laid out.
Some z-fighting issues with some overlapping meshes

Suggestion:
Some more datapads with references to the doomguy for a little more storytelling would be cool.

Thumbs down due to de-optimization. This map no longer works as it is too old and not up to date. It has not been updated by the creator and will most likely not be.

@A Scytherian Wanker: There is a bit of a continuity error that would bother me with a Half-Life level since Black Mesa was nuked shortly after the events of Half-Life but I still agree. A Half-Life VCD crossover *needs* to happen.

Pretty boring. Proportionally very innacurate, and not really much going on in terms of detail. Needs some work. The outside area was terrible, the secrets on the map turned out pretty bad, hiding the incenerator behind a mandatory-hack door is ridiculous. Great concept, however, but I'm not gonna play this beyond what I did.

Level Design: 2/5
Textures: 1/5
Performance: 5/5
Fun: 1/5
Originality: 5/5
Replayability: 1/5
Overall: 2/5
Difficulty: Easy, if you don't mind running.

All-in-all, if you re-did this or havily modified it, it would be pretty amazing to see an honest-to-god remake of E1M1 or MAP01 from one of the Doom games.

I like the map. but the level is quite large. too large for the spread of the required machines. the map, like it is, has to be played multi-player to be efficient. and hididing the furnace behind 3 locked doors is a bit more trouble than its worth. especialy considering the travel time required.

i would recommend adding an extra bucket / waste disposal bin machine to help a bit. and maybe unlock the secret parts of the level behind locked doors rather than the all vital furnace.(adding the laser welder in a "secret part" would be a nice touch)

last some of the windows show the building cubes of the level. wich might be hidden by changing the landscape around it(i think)

i liked the level though. but it might need a few more touches =)

True, the first door is hack-only, the numbers for both second and the third door (one code for both) is scattered on the map, so, you won't need to hack them

@Torgon: The first code is five digits long. You'll have to guess what it is. But there's a way to figure it out. The second code is actually six digits long, but the first three are written in a message that you'll have to find.

Perhaps I'm blind but I can only find one code in the map. But it's three digits, and the doors require four. Am I missing something some where?

Having the incinerator at exit require me a long, long haul. and I feel the map is much larger than the original.

Other than those, nice map.
