I play some time with this mod, and looks balanced. But I play for Warly and that will PAINFULL balance...xD
Hate him passive starvation drain.
But again I thank you for your job.
As for favourite foods, simply toggling this is probably not possible due to the complex logic involved, but if you want to get rid of that logic, you can modify your local copy of the mod.
The first thing you need to do is find the folder for this mod, which is under your steam folder \workshop\content\322330\378272573
Then go to the scripts folder, and delete the "components" subfolder.
I liked idea what bring changes from this work, but leave a one request: do "favourite food" is switchable in mods menu.
I like the favorite dishes that the characters have in the original game, each one has a story behind it, each one has a character's lore behind it. Change the numbers and characteristics of food? Thank you. Add another bonus for "favorite food" - I will also accept. But in no case, I ask you, do not change the favorite dishes of the characters themselves. They are not needed for survival, they are just... preferences related to the lives of our heroes. Yes, Maxwell's dish is the most expensive in the game, and Wes pancakes are useless for him, but do not touch, do not rummage through the minds of sufferers who are already forced to suffer from obesity in this cruel world of meatballs.
Does this mod seem balanced from your experience?
Imo Recipe Rebalancer and Waiter 101 go hand in hand, as the rebalanced food items in this mod makes some crockpot recipes still very much worth using, but at the same time it also encourages delving into waiter 101's recipes as opposed to just pigging out on meatballs 24/7.
I have to give a big thanks to the both of you for taking the time to make them work together. :)
I tried messing with the priorities, but kept trying to make yours load second, didnt occur to me to reverse the order. Sorry about the troubles, but Im glad its working .
re: banana bread, it (currently) requires = Banana + Egg + Vegetable + filler
Berries are tagged as fruit, so that is correct that it wouldnt work.
I also tested to make sure my mod doesn't break your recipes, and I don't think it does, though I was having trouble getting a couple of them to create. For example, when I tried to make banana bread with Banana, Egg, Berry, Berry (which I believe should be a valid recipe), I get mushy eggs. I was able to make candied nuts with honey, cooked birchnut * 3 though, so maybe I'm just not understanding your recipe system fully.
Hello - Author of Waiter-101 here,
I thought the priority tag (modinfo) would determine order in which the mods are applied, but that may not be case in DST.
Anyway - any thoughts on how to prevent reloading the crockpot recipes from the base game.
as I didnt intend for that to happen.
In any case, I'm not sure if the mods would really make sense together, since my mod doesn't change their recipes and they seem to be balanced around the values from the base game, so it would probably just make the base recipes not worth using. If you find that meatballs breaks Waiter 101's balance, you might ask there to see if they'll add some config option that lets you weaken them or something.
Cause I don't see any changes to the vanilla crockpot foods, the changes to berries, carrots, cactus flesh, etc. are working just not the crockpot food changes.
As for not seeing rebalanced food values, it's likely that you're using another mod that conflicts with this one. All food values in DS are stored in one file, so if you have any other mods that add new foods or alter their values there'll be conflicts.
I do kind of wish there was a cleaner way to alter their drop table without including those prefabs (those are also the scripts that break when they update the game like 95% of the time), but I haven't seen it.
I also disagree about the fish tacos. Corn and Fish are both moderately uncommon items, it shouldn't be a worthless food item. And Fishsticks is still good, health is just a bit harder to come by in general.
Of course, if you would prefer totally different values it's not hard to open up the mod and set your own values for the various foods.
The only sanity item that restores that much sanity is ICE CREAM, which is rare and thats why It heals 50 Sanity
Also, the fishsticks shouldn't be nerfed, its the noobs food for health, If you are starting out and you got some fish and twigs and a crockpot then boom! 40 HP with no troubles, most of the time it requires much more time just to get that sort of healing.
Buffed Fish Tacos? Look, Fish tacos are good dont get me wrong, but the Don't Starve wiki even said that "Players may make this recipe because they used corn as a filler even though they didn't mean to"
Change those two things, thanks.
