I will admit it is a nice scary predator but what throws it off is the whole dog thing is there a way to fix that because it makes easy to spot the predator coming

I could have another crack at remaking this, but it will be singleplayer only as multipled tests in a mp environment caused some really funny things to happen. For example, when the Pred launched a plasma burst, this script would run 8 times or the amount of players playing, which meant the script tried to run 8 times at once! Causing massive bugs in MP.

I'll explain the dog thing lol. The Dog I attached to an invisible man (Hide object true). Because the man can't take damage, I used the Dog to transfer damage to the Predator, the dog could be textured at that time to be invisble, but still take damage. Unfortunately you cannot texture a man to be invisble, his uniform goes invisible but his hands and face still show. This was a workaround to make the Predator take damage. After a patch long ago, this stopped working, which is why you now see the Dog. It worked well on release, but yeah, now u see the dog. This was the only workaround (without a mod as this is all scripted), i could come up with.

When I have ZERO mods on when me and fmy friend the plays, the dog which is used for reasons unknown appears, there is a fix but with 3 people I may not be able to hide the dog. Is this a known bug or something else, I also tried unistalling and reinstalling the mission.

Only annoying thing I have to say it.....cloak the dog model....like...other players can see the model and just basically kill you instantly...the model needs to be cloaked.

Is anyone interested in a single player version of this? The thing is, i'm confident I can fix it for single player, but I've tried and failed so many times making this work in MP. If there is community interest in a single player version then I'll do it, probably for Tanoa but that could easily be made for Altis or Stratis as well. I need expert help or someone that knows how to script MP missions to make this for MP.

I used those or similar effects, the dog was a work around, after some versions of arma, instead of going invisible the dog remained visible. BTW, maybe if you play it as a single player map instead of lan, the dog might correct itself. The reason i used a dog, because you cant make a man char invisible completely without making him immortal. The dog could become invisible as an exception, therefore I atached the dog to the predator to act as the mans life force. Damage taken from the dog, is transferred to the predator, in testing no one should ever know there was a dog there, but this is the only way i could make an invisible character that could die, thus the dog was born.... Workarounds I know.

I will make a new one for Tanoa soon. It will be far better but singl player only as my maps don't seem to work. You will be able to either play as human or predator though! If some one can write a mean story I will also try to make a story base single player mission. I will make a good death match though. Also, anyone recommend any mods for this?

I can make a template map. Some one would just have to open it up and place a pre created predator around. I have no idea how to mod, however I'm confident I can make an improved death match with either the player being the marine or predator side. As for personality yeah was thinking along similar lines. Random chance for pred to run in, do a melee attack and flee or fire a plasma shot and reposition itself. In a way that feels like he's picking off one guy at a time rather than going balls in.

my thinking for my previous post was with custom editor missions in mind. As in have the Predator be a unit. and have Module(s) synced to it or whatever. just like any opfor badguy. maybe disable scopes someway to add closeness.

Tanoa version. like already said, would be cool. Perhaps a module of some kind with parameters where the Predator would stalk your group from afar, then close in and "snipe" one of your guys every so often. have it where the player(s) would be able to hunt it down.- and be able to "see" it standing around (near bodies). then run away quickly after being spotted. - Only to return to stalking and sniping. Then, the last player has to blow him up. man to man. sorta. lol. maybe complicated, but would be super neat.

The vision modes don't seem to work. Game flashes a black screen and comes back the same. Any ideas?
