This doesn't seems to be working. Mushrooms just rot after awhile. I selected all options to 1 to ensure. Selected no need for darkness and rain. Put far away from my home (No custom mad light). Does this mod only works in Caves?

hey, when I put the cap on the ground, suddenly the game broken, what's wrong with this? Plz

@star

Sorry, just to clarify: all I need to do for the mushrooms to take root is to drop a certain number of caps (2 by default) somewhere on the ground, and they'll grow so long as I'm not looking at them?

Thanks for feedback! :steamhappy:

Good idea, If it worked. Pengulls ate the mushrooms when animals eat mushrooms was set to off, mushrooms dont grow in winter even when the option is changed for it, they wont grow in pure darkness.

Didn't work, left mushrooms in my farm area for days until they rotted, now it's just my compost pile

Hey can this mod grow mushrooms from other mods? For instance Ysovuka has a mod called Dawn that introduces Brown Mushrooms. It would be cool if i could add Brown Mushrooms to my Red, Blue, and Green Mushroom farm.

Any chance of a DS version?

I *love* this mod.

Good idea. But how about mushroom farm? Some cut grass, twigs and caps for mycelium and some stone to built it. And... i dont't know, how to balance it.
star  [author] 12 Feb, 2015 @ 3:39pm
As I said, caps won't take root, if you are looking at them. This is main rule. By default they need darkness. But if you turn this option off, you should stay far away from caps to let them grow.
Retrolicious 12 Feb, 2015 @ 3:21pm
I saw it all around so did i describe the option the right way or how does it work again ?
star  [author] 12 Feb, 2015 @ 8:59am
There is no nearest player option. Where did you see it?
Retrolicious 12 Feb, 2015 @ 8:48am
So the nearest player option applies only to players who are in darkness ? So say two players are in darkness and try to grow mushroom the nearest gets the roots right ?

Yes
Fishyflakes 4 Feb, 2015 @ 11:03pm
I wonder if this new mechanic means that red shrooms can be used to bait traps now.
star  [author] 1 Feb, 2015 @ 3:23pm
Update! New features! :)
Fishyflakes 29 Jan, 2015 @ 8:31pm
Yeah, like spamming red mushrooms everywhere. Very fun to grow mushroom farms now haha!
Jon Dee 28 Jan, 2015 @ 12:53pm
What a great mod Star, and a really fun planting mechanic. Add's a fair bit of depth and new strategies!
star  [author] 28 Jan, 2015 @ 12:30am
@Fishyflakes :))) Yea, they don't like viewers while taking root. :)) They could grow very close to you but in 100% darkness. :)
Fishyflakes 28 Jan, 2015 @ 12:25am
Ah no wonder, I dropped them at dusk and stared at them the entire time.
star  [author] 28 Jan, 2015 @ 12:24am
You right. I will rename "night" to "darkness" and will hide "nearest players" option.
star  [author] 28 Jan, 2015 @ 12:09am
@Fishyflakes They need 100% darkness. Any sources of light are unwanted.
Fishyflakes 27 Jan, 2015 @ 11:31pm
Sorry, just want to make sure I don't assume the wrong thing since it is in engrish.

I tried dropping 2 caps on the ground and nothing happened (waited about 4 in-game hours. Uh, how exactly do I make mushrooms root?
tuffdwarf 27 Jan, 2015 @ 7:49pm
Beg pardon, but in your original description posted earlier today you did indeed have "nearest person" listed, which confused me, too. I see you have removed it, which will prevent further confusion. I think the mod is a wonderful one, and I have happily subscribed as I feel there can never be too many mushrooms. Thank you!
star  [author] 27 Jan, 2015 @ 4:31pm
@Fishyflakes, as you can see, this option is disabled by default. You don't really need it until you subscribe the mod and try to configure and play. But if you do this, there will no questions about it. That's why I'm trying keep description clean and short. Also there are 3 or more undocumented hidden options in the constants of code. Of course I won't describe them too, because it is good balanced I guess. However anybody can look at the code and figure out what it exactly do. There are no secrets.

It is good that you are asking about every detail of the mod before start to use it. But most of questions will be not actual if you just subscribe the mod and try to use. For that option which you asking about, there are 2 variants. Second variant is "must absent". I think it's clearly enough what it means, isn't it?
star  [author] 27 Jan, 2015 @ 4:05pm
There is no "Nearest players" in description above. Just "They need 100% darkness".
Do you really installed the mod and opened the options?
Fishyflakes 27 Jan, 2015 @ 3:56pm
What does the option "Nearest players" mean? Does it mean the player needs to be nearby for them to grow?
Fishyflakes 27 Jan, 2015 @ 3:53pm
So you can grow your own mushrooms by dropping a stack of 2 on the floor?
star  [author] 27 Jan, 2015 @ 1:51pm
@Fishyflakes I mean for growing.
Fishyflakes 27 Jan, 2015 @ 1:18pm
What do you mean by "required 2 caps in stack"?
