It would, but events and decisions is a pain to add, it's difficult enough to get decisions support for my most recent mods.

The only other one I'm using is one that changes the aircraft animation speeds.
Ah, maybe it's the technology? I'm not sure how to check where the city states are in terms of tech and I forgot I'm kind of way ahead of a lot of the world at the moment.

I don't really know why that would happen considering the only part of the code referring to city states is to rename one of them, what other mods are you using? Are you sure the city state had the techs it needed?

Had an odd bug where I'm allies with a few city states and they've got mines on their coal resource but they're not giving me the resource. I did eventually get some coal from another but I think that may have been when they built a new mine on the coal resource after I'd discovered it.

Yes, that's a bug I haven't fixed, It doesn't affect gameplay at all though, so I forgot about it as there was no urgency to fix it, I might have a look soon though, text errors tend to be easy to fix.

Just noticed that the city-state of Managua is labelled TXT_KEY_CITYSTATE_MANAGUA on the map. Everywhere else it's just Managua, but it does look weird on the actual game "board". Any ideas what might have caused this? Am I the only one with this glitch?

Not much is known about Olmec kings, I could hardly find much on Po Ngbe, and I thought it was a good excuse to add a female leader to the game :p

Excelent Mod, I really liked it.

Just a little "historical" detail: the splashscreen map of the "olmec territory" isn't accurate. It should just be south of Veracruz State and the whole Tabasco State, but w.e. it is a very good mod. Congrats.

I think this is a great mod, but I have some inconveniences...

I think the icon for the Nutall should look less realistic, I kinda want the feeling like it's apart of the game...

... and maybe add a little bit more shading around Tu so it looks just a little bit more like she's not just plastered on there.

Other than that, I like it.

Mansa Musa lived 1280-1330 AD

The popular fringe theory is that the Olmec descended from Shang China (although, this is really equally ridiculous).

I think I'll be able to include cultural diversity support on my own, but YNAEMP support is something I'm still completely in the dark about, so help and some framework code would be brilliant!

I'll also correct the capital mistakes you mentioned.
I won't be able to do Decisions, but I'm familiar with XML and can help with YNAEMP and Cultural Diversity, as well as pretty much every other support. Send me a message if you're interested.
Your mods are good, but just make sure to capitalize more. "Olmec Empire" instead of "Olmec empire" and "Mother Culture" instead of "Mother culture". Other than that a good mod, well done!
