Very good design and a very good puzzle! One of the better I have ever tried.

I've seen very few tests like that, but have a strong already-seen feeling because each one of this kind is a great portal/ahah moment.
But even with this exploit, the test is great! Good job!
There are two methods of getting the second cube: standing on the first cube and
rotating it to sweep the laser down through the collector or what I'm guessing is the intended
method that's very similiar to the final move of the chamber.
