This author no longer mods for SE but he gave permission for anyone to update, improve, maintain, and re-upload his mods. If anyone sees this and has the ability to bring this back to life, I miss it a lot. Standard camera just doesn't cut it at 20km sync distance.

this still works, it's just a little wonky with the zooming and at max zoom it brings out some graphical artifacts. Not very useful unless you're playing single player or server with maximum view distance.

Basically what Viper says. This is slightly useful for surverying and surviellence but with current mechanics feels more like a kid's toy than an astronomical device. Still very cool.

This mod is currently wonky to some extent but functional. I am using it despite the broken zoom mechanic - it still has a very minor benefit over a normal camera.

This mod no longer appears in my mod list, despite being subscribed to it. Did the usual stuff to fix, but it hasn't worked.

Normal camera sadly doesn't really zoom. It just enlarges the unrendered blur.

If Keen fixed the zoom, then all is good. Mod don't need an update to fix this issue, the problem is on game's side.

Zoom is broken in game itself, cannot fix, reported bug to Keen. Meanwhile, enjoy your dx11, least I can do.

Keen has changed camera zoom values to the laughable value in the latest update. Seems it affected telescope too.

This is an automatic must have for every new ship I build. Very practical. The greater the distance the better it is over the standard cam. The texture thing is a feature to me. Lets me see where the reactors are in ships I plan to pirate. One tip to share, at very long distances, try reducing the power to your gyros to very low. This will make aiming adjustments less jerky when trying to home in on an distant image. I put two buttons on my action bar, one to lower gyro power and one to increase it. Now if only it would be independently aimed, instead of having to move your whole ship to center an image on the zoom screen.

That thing can give a close-up of a small cruiser over 32km. Definitely like.
