It was a great idea to light up the surroundings with a broken lantern!
I assumed it would be another Penumbra map, and am quite happy I was wrong.
Ended up being one of my favorites.
Tips: you can pre-break the lanterns by smashing them on the inside of the incinerator and they won't make a mess. Also, the sniffer reacts to the new 'fuses' but they don't seem to affect the final score - still finished with a 102%.
Alright thanks, I'll even try with the broken lanterns and see if that even yeilds a different result.
As for the level itself, I like the concept, but problem is the fuses will not stop exploding no matter how many times I try to use the fuseboxes to help. Interesting gimmick, but it seems set where it bugs easily, and I cannot play this level since I can't even get the gates open with lanterns explode every single time.
Cant put a fuse in without first opening the fuse box. Might as well update the description somewhat, to prevent further confusion.
Which makes cleaning the map impossible since you can't get the gates open.
But yeah, if you put in an lantern it should go green and it should power something. Story-wise, the reason they explode is because of exessive electricity, technically, it is just a Water Volume, inside those boxes. :P
I suppose the map is doing as advertised, i'm not sure if you mean VCD/maps in general, or this map, but neither can be helped, they are as they are. If darkness in general bothers you, perhaps bump up the gamma level, works wonders for me. (If you dont mind the map losing some of its lighting-based atmosphere, anyway.)
It's a level that specifically states "the main gimmick being darkness," not one dimly lit room and everything else to be bright. I mean, what did you expect? :/

I had a lantern melt (into one of those piles like it was hit with a laser welder) once when I put it in the fuse box, and then get stuck in it. I'm not sure why, but you might wanna look into that.
