I had some trouble figuring out the last part of the puzzle but it was good and smart

Still an excellent puzzle and still deserves to be in my list of favourites.

I found this once quite easy, perhaps because I found the ending move long before I needed it. Thumbs up

I'm mostly a frustrated and encumbered puzzlesolver, but this one grabbed my curiosity all along, I didn't feel stuck for a minute yet I needed to think hard and come up with ideas, maybe because the next step was always in clear sight.
I love it. One of the best maps I've ever played on.

Just when all hope was lost, I pluck the solution out of thin air XD

I just replayed this puzzle after several years. Wasn't nearly as hard as I remember. Still a great map though.

Brilliant puzzle. The first part (getting up to the pedestal button) didn't take me too long to work out, but the final part took me ages, mainly because I didn't realise what I could see from where! Thumbs up and added to favourites.

oh my gosh ,thank you for the hint that was all i needed. iwas really close just needed that nudge. didnt think of the leaving the cube off the button just like for the gel. yeah i'm done, great chamber.

what directory are you talking about? how do you find the directory?
The Sojourner 28 Feb, 2015 @ 10:51pm
Hint #2 (I'm guessing this is where you're at): you need the companion cube by the excursion funnel's button, but not on it. Now go place a portal in front of the other cube (the one that's keeping the hard light bridge on), and the other one in front of the excursion funnel...

Also, in the future, to run the demos that these guys provide, just place the downloaded demo (no account required for a straight download from Dropbox; just click the little link at the bottom) into the Portal 2/portal2 directory, and run the playdemo <demoname> console command.

Finally solved this one (had to peek at Talisac's demo only to realize I was missing one small piece of the puzzle... again :P). Huge space, but how could we expect anything less from you? Nice intertwining :p2cube:

@jandlml,
Hint #1: You need a propulsion gel runway to hit the button that lowers the panel. To set this up, you need both cubes. Place the companion cube on the gel dropper's button and leave the regular cube on the hard light bridge's button....

I was able to figure that part out on my own, fortunately. The second part..not so much.

This is one of the best puzzles ever! I liked it even more than some of Mevious' tests. I can't even imagine how you thought of this - It's like creating the map and removing every possibility of an exploit was even harder than the test itself. I would never be able to think of a test that complicated.

It's very challenging, but unlike most cases I didn't feel like giving up and after that "aha!"-moment, everything seemed clear. I don't think the map is too big and having to walk for a bit more than in an average test isn't a bad thing for me.

I spent at least 40 minutes for this one, but it was all worth it at the end. Terrific job! Added to favorites.

...a real hike...
Nice one, the puzzles are well thought out, thumbs up.

Love it, even though it's way too big hehe...
Talisac 16 Feb, 2015 @ 5:16am
Good puzzle. Long walks make it a bit harder, but that's the only negative point for me.

Probably not the most efficient way of solving...
OwlBreaker 15 Feb, 2015 @ 12:41am
Well done.... except I couldn't solve it. The problem stems from needing a second cube, which force the player to return to the top after the lightbridge is made. However, the only path upward will despawn the portals, which are needed to progess. Working from top to bottom doesn't work either; once you drop from the light bridge to place the other portal, you can't get back onto the bridge without reseting the current portal set up.
