ok thanks

Some of the procedural exploration mods do it, or you could write your own script for it. I don't generally do scripting. I know at one point the EEM mod would spawn any asteroids you had loaded, not sure if it still does.
lucasfan99 30 Mar, 2020 @ 4:33pm
I know I can spawn it by myself using the admin menu and I know how to do it, however, the idea of a script or something similar that spawns it multiple times is also very appealing. Does anyone here know about such a mod? Great mod btw, perfect for huge stations and hangers
Grimm Spector  [author] 23 Jan, 2020 @ 1:06pm
@Swat842® custom asteroids do not spawn procedurally without other mods that change procedural spawning. You either have to admin spawn it in yourself, or supply your own mod to add it to a procedural list, this is just an asset. Custom procedural stuff is not within its scope nor was it ever intended to be.

Thanks CaveDweller.
CaveDweller 22 Jan, 2020 @ 9:07pm
@Swat842® how did you try to spawn it in? this is not something that spawns in automatically. I assure you though it is listed and spawnable. Don't blame modders or their content for your own failures in life.
Swat842® 22 Jan, 2020 @ 7:02pm
Wow I have to give this a -10 it doesn't spawn in
Grimm Spector  [author] 28 Jul, 2019 @ 5:11am
@CaveDweller nope, it's always been a solid core. Thanks.
CaveDweller 27 Jul, 2019 @ 11:12pm
Did you make changes to the asteroid? I seem to remember it used to be completely hollow before, unless I'm thinking of something else? Either way, nicely done =)

Glad I could help Protheus!
Protheus 24 May, 2018 @ 6:09am
finaly found what I was looking for :-) thank you
LoneTiger 7 Feb, 2018 @ 3:24pm
Cool will try it out, I am so tired of donuts and asteroids with testicles.:steamhappy:
Grimm Spector  [author] 7 Feb, 2018 @ 3:21pm
It adds, you can place them manually, but if they're enabled on your world they should also generate randomly.
LoneTiger 7 Feb, 2018 @ 3:16pm
Dumb question, does this mod replaces existing asteroids or adds to vanilla ones or have to place them in universe by hand using SE tools?
FallenSniper 22 Nov, 2017 @ 9:15am
I found where you find it in spawn menu go to "Predefined Asteroids" Then go to the box under that and scroll down you should find it in the L section
Grimm Spector  [author] 14 Oct, 2017 @ 8:46pm
Not sure why it's not showing in your spawn menu, you may have some options set wrong. It's name is Large Round Asteroid in the menu normally.
Rusin 14 Oct, 2017 @ 8:21am
its not in the spawn menu under shift + F10 can i ask for its name?
Grimm Spector  [author] 20 Oct, 2016 @ 4:47pm
Awesome, thanks very much. I'd love to see the video!
Protyus 19 Oct, 2016 @ 10:07pm
Perfect. Thanx man. signing up. It will be in a video series I will be starting soon. I will make sure to credit you.
Grimm Spector  [author] 19 Oct, 2016 @ 9:02pm
Asteroids are fully procedural in SE, I have no control over mineral distribution. The game engine decides what the material spread will be, any part of it can be rock, or any other material you have in your game (depending on mods of course). It's part of the advantage of voxelization for the way they do their engine.
Protyus 19 Oct, 2016 @ 7:41pm
Is this asteroid all rock or are resources spread about?
Grimm Spector  [author] 16 Nov, 2015 @ 3:09pm
If you're in creative the shift f10 menu will list all modded asteroids you have loaded plus all vanilla ones, so if you subscribed to this and added it to your world like you'd add any mod, it should be there, then you can spawn one in. You can't copy and past asteroids like you do ships/stations, and you can't copy a modified asteroid with ship/station bits in it as a single unit. If you want to copy a modified asteroid, the only way I know of is to copy it's voxel file from your world save into a mod, and add that mod to your world, then you can paste them in. You're welcome to use the mod file for this mod as a template to understand how that works.

Hope that answered your questions.

may you can help me..?
I try to build selfmade som different Asteroids, and I want copy each Asteroid seperate in the blueprint or into the Program, so that I can load and paste each Asteroid single in in each new Creative World.
-I mean, so that I find it in Shift F10.. like a mod
I try it since two weeks but I find no way.. may you have a idea .. ??
Grimm Spector  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 8:39pm
Nope, no issues so far...but I'll try 11 and see!
Jolly 24 Oct, 2015 @ 7:40pm
Yours hasn't been disapearing? Try DX11... also when I'm on DX9 i have extra texture over my asteroids that i can fly through. I read other people had this problem.
Grimm Spector  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 5:11pm
That sounds hilarious to watch!
Jolly 24 Oct, 2015 @ 4:11pm
My asteroids have been playing tricks on me since the last few patches. Sometimes they disapear but the collision voxels are still there. So you can crash your ship into it
Grimm Spector  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 3:14pm
Very strange, not anythin to do with the "mod" since it's just a voxel fill file and mesh, something that the SE crew will have to fix, or you'll have to add it back in.
Wolverine 24 Oct, 2015 @ 6:08am
This roid has vanished from my world. I have read there is issues the roids in latest patch, but i can fly through where i spawned this roid, like its not even there?
Grimm Spector  [author] 10 Sep, 2015 @ 8:21am
ooo awesome start, thanks Jolly, now I just have to hope they make it so you can use any material from your inventory!
Jolly 9 Sep, 2015 @ 11:14pm
Grimm Spector  [author] 9 Sep, 2015 @ 7:16pm
sorry. currently there is no way to make or modify asteroids outside creative mode. Hoping the devs eventually make voxel hands useful in survival!
Jolly 9 Sep, 2015 @ 12:15am
Type: Mod
Mod category: Asteroid

...oh -.-

Thought it would be like blueprints
Thank you.
Grimm Spector  [author] 8 Sep, 2015 @ 6:42pm
Have you added the asteroid in as a mod to your world? If so it should come up with that name, in the creative menu.
Jolly 8 Sep, 2015 @ 9:47am
When I look at my list of asteroids, what name am I looking for because there is no "Large Round Asteroid" on my list. Unless I'm doing something wrong which is a good possibility because this is my first time Pasting an asteroid from workshop.
Wolverine 17 Jun, 2015 @ 8:38am
Shift + F10 to bring up spawn menu in Creative mode.
Grimm Spector  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 8:28pm
@Anubis Add it as a mod to a world, and if you're in creative mode you can use the asteroid menu to paste it in.
Thedus 24 May, 2015 @ 3:53am
how do i paste it in
Grimm Spector  [author] 5 Mar, 2015 @ 8:48pm
Just use any 3D modeling program to make a mesh, doesn't need any textures or anything fancy, literally just a 3D mesh, and import it into a save using SEToolBox, then you can toss the Voxel vx file into a mod and upload it to the workshop.
ArcticWolf 4 Mar, 2015 @ 9:37pm
I think so because after that it's perfectly normal, no issues what so ever. I wish I could find out how you all make those, I have an idea for one but don't really know how to describe what I want to do. ;)
Grimm Spector  [author] 4 Mar, 2015 @ 9:09pm
That's very interesting, sounds like an issue with the mesh not generating properly when it first is spawned in.
ArcticWolf 4 Mar, 2015 @ 7:24pm
I don't understand why this happens. If I install the asteroid and then save and leave the game and then come back it's perfectly normal.
Grimm Spector  [author] 4 Mar, 2015 @ 7:11pm
Interesting, I'd suggest uploading any world saves you have and posting a bug report with a link, it's what the developrs ask for in situations like this, should help them figure out the flaw!
ArcticWolf 3 Mar, 2015 @ 9:08pm
I had a situation similar to this with another asteroid. I'm going to try to reload it again and then save the world and then go back to it at a later time. There maybe a bug/flaw in the game that does not allow you to use them right away sometimes.
Grimm Spector  [author] 3 Mar, 2015 @ 8:56pm
This must be specific to your client/world ArticWolf, all asteroids are made the same by the game engine, they're just a set of voxelized coordinate sets that build up a simple mesh. It's fully solid from all angles in all of my game worlds, I'd suggest filing a bug report.
ArcticWolf 28 Feb, 2015 @ 4:58pm
Nice.. would love to use it but it needs work - badly :(

When you fly up against it you just continue inside like it's not there - no substance.. :(

Take a look here..

Grimm Spector  [author] 26 Feb, 2015 @ 7:54pm
No, no ores, it's for building, not mining. Though if they ever start doing the procedural asteroids for exploration like they have for ships and stations, and add it this should generate ores like any other one would.
Vatch 26 Feb, 2015 @ 2:43pm
Does this have asteroid have ores?
