Thanks for the mod, I'm hoping for the cyber-miracle. (in Hong Kong?)
I would LOVE to see Act 4! You've got some really fun stuff going.
But... i am still somewhat sad. The story is not finished, and i fear it will never be, now.
Glad ya enjoyed the compound chapter, and I appreciate the kind words. Tried my best to throw some change-ups for battle scenarios in there. From the moment you arrive, you're setting up for that showdown. Also, was a ton of fun considering who would get what out of the 39's crate o' doom!
On many levels, I enjoyed this more than the official DMS campaign (haven't played DF and HK yet), for example I loved the way you leveled up the companions through the story (39 got this mysterious crate etc), and by a big leap (OMG her sniper rifle is so powerful!!) instead of small unsatisfying increments through shops/XP as most games do.
Also the big fight at the compound was the best SR combat I've played so far, period. Almost reminded me of XCOM (very high bar!), with bigger waves of enemy kind of like an RTS, and what was especially great is the build up of exploring the compound and preparing the troops, gathering your strength before the storm etc (XCOM has nothing like this... hmm, an XCOM RPG,
wow that would be awesome!).
Thanks for playing, and Im glad you enjoyed it!
39, 22 and Testament are interesting chars, loved their writing and lines.
The idea of using Matrix enemies this way is amazing and the basic plot is quite interesting too.
Just a few glitches, nothing serious, and a few part in the plot were things doesn't seems to "click" completely, but overall it's been time well spent! Thanks!
By the way, what's happen if i help 33 instead of 22? Anything awful? :D
I had to use Mystery Market to recreate my character from the end of act II, but it was nce having the continuity.
As Shadowrun Returns evolved and got better with Dragonfall, so did this mod.
The story is well developed with various locations, quests, and good use of Shadowrun fluff.
The plot ties up nicely and the character roster is diverse and interesting (I was intrigued by Testament and his group).
I didn't experience any bugs this time, my only gripes being the spelling errors and the fact that I had to make a completely new player character from scratch, without any of the karma points or items from the previous Acts, though the mod makes up for this almost right at the start by giving you plenty of resources to build yourself up.
The combat was also very enjoyable.
All in all this is a most satisfying conclusion.
I know there are no plans for making more Acts, but here's one suggestion: tie all the parts together and export them into one refined mod for Shadowrun: Hong Kong, it would make for a more coherent experience.
+1
@Sorcerer Supreme - Act 1 & 2 are for vanilla Shadowrun Returns.
I'll try this, thanks for your time and contribution.
i cant find them
To bad. I really, really liked this campaign.
Not sure if I have the energy to re-play Act 3 with a new character without my own equipment in Dragonfall.
It seems to be a good campaign. :-)
