Yeah, I've noticed that too. The rigs *should* be using all the same arm v_model animations because nothing changes between them in firstperson.
However I tried using Splinks's "Original L4D Survivors" and I realized all the hand placement looks equivalent to L4D1 without and awkward grips on the guns. It's just odd to me.

and since they share the same animation the thumb should be the same.

But, then again in-game they both have the broken one. I just wanted to say that it looked better before but, if it cannot be fixed then i'm not complaining. I'll take it.
He had to rig the old animations on his own. The skeletons from L4D1 and 2 Beta aren't useable online due to the scripting they use because no one can find out how to properly decompile them to be compatible with the second game.
As far as I see, this is the best it's going to get. And in my opinion, this is already better that good enough. I would rather have the gun physics, jigglebones, and realistic screen placement/FOV over the hand model placement anyday.
he could ask valve or splinks to give him for both survivors l4d1 skeletons rigs(because L4D2 Beta used L4D1 animations)
