Another old school EX MOD player here. I've been unable to get this to actually work. I load the MOD and press Start and it kicks me back to the desktop. Everything else works fine including other MODS, so it's got to be some edit trick that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.

UPDATE: Weird, classics work for me now... sometimes they crash and close out of the blue, although I found it really funny when I started playing as Progenitor and it said that the carrier was stolen and systems on it were replaced and then they just grabbed some hyperspace inhibitors and just attached them. Lol.

Technically its an overgrown probe, that can warp, and i think it has a grav well

I kinda wish Chimera Station DID something. I'm not sure what. You can dock with it, but it's also immobile and has no defences of it's own.

Heh. On a whim, tried to go through the campaign-was expecting it to simply break, but it worked. Stalled at Mission 7. Can't build the Mover Construction Facility-the game somehow thinks it's already built. Was interesting while it lasted, though. Though I'm uncertain at the actual effectiveness of the new craft I could use(Multi-gun Corvette, Pulsar Fighter, Defender). They seemed to die for little actual gains. The Flak Cannon upgrades made me actually build an extra carrier beyond the one you're given, though, so success there.

Turns out I was missing something obvious: you can't expect to rush a Keeper and get anywhere. You HAVE to go with the lower stuff first.

Good luck with that. In the time and cost it takes to get one Keeper(Going straight for it, only extra expenses being resource collectors and controllers), even the standard-level AI can get a fleet of many fighters and a Destroyer or 2. A lone Keeper is no match for that.

...I'll keep trying. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

i dont remember, the drones are suppose to be anti fighter... the keepers and of course sajuke counter the capships

The drones are too expensive to be called 'expendable'. But they can't be repaired; they won't heal within the Subjugated Carrier, and the Movers won't heal them. They also have no recourse against Capital Ships-they don't do much damage themselves and have no anti-subsystem capability. Is that the Mover task? Yet they seem too frail for that task, given their expense.

This mod is known for its balance, thats what i put most of my time into doing, expecially for MP, back when I created it, i had access to some of the best homeworld2 players all day long to work on it for quite a while before releasing it.

Not sure yet what i am going to do... i am really waiting to see if they work out the Multiplayer issues and see what the community does for the remastered version. Right now Multiplayer is still pretty shaky it seems... I really hope gearbox gives it some love

I loved the dynamic fighters and the expansion slot options in this mod. Will you teak it now that the game is back? The new units need to be balanced.

works great just so everyone knows incase they dont u load up homeworld menu where it has remasterd and classic games on the right hand side on bottem u will see mods click that and then pick the mod u want make shore to click it so it goes in the active box then hit load mod should work really hopeing to see remasterd vershen of mod it looks great now but if it was on remasterd it would look and feel epic

Loved EX mod, it added cool stuff and kept it balanced w/o going overboard like some other mods did like PDS and complex.

I forgot, did EX come with the dogfighting fighters behavior or did I add that manually?

The Big B man.... yea, however I dont recall if I'd given the AI a good profile for the progenitors... should be fine with the other 2 races though, and you can always just play the progenitors yourself

Consider me DEEPLY excited about the possibility of EX Mod for the remaster, there's a certain awesomeness about a carrier that can put up it's own flak screen. :)

I duno, i just tested it... I subcribed... launched Homeworld Remastered... loads the splash screen... i clicked mods on the bottem right... Click on HW2 Classic... EX MOD is listed with a preview... select it so it shows up one the right side, then hit launch and it works.

for some reason when I subscribe to a mod it still don work... I go to the selected mod, I click on it, it's picture shows up in the middle and the name appears in selected mods, then when I hit launch, it fades to black then goes back to desktop... what am I doing wrong???
