Will this work on a hosted server when you are in space master mode?
Screaming Angels  [author] 23 Oct, 2015 @ 6:57pm
I can no longer offer this as a mod, as it takes up too much of my Steam cloud space for Workshop items.

This asteroid and other layered sphere asteroids of better quality can be generated in singleplayer game using my Midspace's Admin helper commands mod.

Further details on how to use the mod can be found here [github.com].

With the following example chat command:
/createroidsphere mysphere 1000 1000 1000 1 stone_01 1249

@СпаЙс иНженер : I have added Russian description from Google translate.
The Guide is still English. It will need better translation.

а русские отзывы есть?
ArgentPhoenix11 11 Aug, 2015 @ 4:12am
ok
Screaming Angels  [author] 2 Aug, 2015 @ 5:36pm
It should appear with the name "sphere_solid_1249_stone_01"
ArgentPhoenix11 2 Aug, 2015 @ 10:50am
in my asteroid spawn menu (shift+f10) i cant find it. can you help me?
SEMTEX 25 Mar, 2015 @ 9:49am
how did you get this asteroid out from the game and up as mod not as world ? i looking the whole day for a guide but can´t find anyone. can you help me please. THX
Screaming Angels  [author] 13 Mar, 2015 @ 4:39pm
I have add the ability to create asteroids just like this and larger directly in game using the following mod script and the chat command "/createroidsphere".
Screaming Angels  [author] 8 Mar, 2015 @ 6:01am
I've uploaded a new 2002m diameter asteroid to the collection.
Screaming Angels  [author] 5 Mar, 2015 @ 4:32pm
@Adaman : please see the instructions for adding such asteroids in the collection details .
matusli 5 Mar, 2015 @ 11:08am
why

i dont NEED stone! make id platinum or gold!

you did it bad! and you should feel bad!
Adaman 5 Mar, 2015 @ 10:43am
This mod sounds great. I have tried this mod but I couldnt find the Sphere. I subscribed the mod then created a new world, added the mod, loaded the game but the Sphere wasnt there (also tried going around for a couple minutes but didnt find it). What should I do? What was I doing wrong?
Mikal 4 Mar, 2015 @ 2:21pm
One step closer to planets in Space Engineers..
jarhead 3 Mar, 2015 @ 5:22pm
also thanks for thios one and all your other mods. they are great (and very usefull)
jarhead 3 Mar, 2015 @ 5:21pm
3 last things

1 too bad we can't have the asteroids rotate like a planet.
2 would it possible to get a version of this with random ores?
3 can we get a gravel sphere that is 1999m diameter? (my pc is only 4gb ram and about half the speed of yours)
alex 3 Mar, 2015 @ 5:19pm
Alright, i also have 8gb, but i noticed in the system stats that the memory was filling up to 100% and clearing repeatedly, so i'm guessing i went over the limit.
Screaming Angels  [author] 3 Mar, 2015 @ 4:46pm
I guess about 30 minutes, on a 8Gb memory PC.
Computer memory is the limitation if you push the size up.
alex 3 Mar, 2015 @ 11:20am
So how long did it take to generate this? I've been waiting 6 hours so far for setoolbox to make a 2048m diameter version. It's closer to 9 billion square meters.
ArcticWolf 2 Mar, 2015 @ 8:34am
Ok thanx for the info, I'll try it again later today :)
Screaming Angels  [author] 2 Mar, 2015 @ 2:08am
Game memory is the major issue which I believe the Keen SWH developers are having to deal with in ME to get the procedural planet to work, before bringing the concept across to SE.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 11:13pm
@ ArticWolf
In order for you to use most of the asteroid mods you have to place the asteroid you want save then reload the game before it becomes a solid object (same for anything that uses over a certain amount of ram or video memory) no i don't know what the limit is for the memory cutoff
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 11:10pm
any way i can get a sphere made so it is 1998m diameter including a 50m thick stone shell.
the ores are random just like your earth asteroid.
it is solid exept for a 200m hollow sphere in the center.
no tunnels going from surface.
ArcticWolf 1 Mar, 2015 @ 7:46pm
First.. this is HUGE! LOL

Not used to seeing something this BIG......

BUT..

There's no substance. Tried to land a ship on it and just fell right through the surface like it's just a hologram :(

I have screen shots but I need to upload them to my site before I can give you link - they're down so it may not be until tomorrow.. :(
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 6:18pm
what is the biggest driveable multi asteroid sphere you can make that will load (set at 0,0,0)?

_possibly just have a 1.5km thick shell of asteroids so the center (8km is empty) this will make
it equal 9.5km total
_then be able to spawn in 4 of this asteroid like i wanted at 50,000km form center along y and
z axis (x=0)
_if i can get a second multi asteroid sphere 1/2 the size of first so there are 4 of them set along
same y and z lines as the first 5 but so it is 100,000km from center

then have 1 of your planetary grav units set at each location so they cover 100m outside the sphere so the biggest is 1g, 1/2 size is 0.66g, smallest is 0.33g (to show difference in visual asteroid size).
Screaming Angels  [author] 1 Mar, 2015 @ 5:52pm
Unfortunately asteroids can't be made much larger than 2Km at the moment.
I am not sure what the limit is exactly.
From testing a few months ago, I couldn't get SE to load 3Km asteroids. It would get stuck at the load screen for over an hour.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 3:28pm
I got to thinking about it and decided that just placing the asteroids so there are:
1x 12,000km diameter asteroid with 13,000km diameter 1g grav at x0, y0, z0
4x 1249km diameter stone only asteroids with 1561.25 diameter 0.33g grav at x0, and +/- _50,000km on other axis
4x 3,000km diameter asteroids with 3,750km diameter 0.66g grav at x0, and +/- 100,000km on _other axis
This would allow the same type of exploration (procedural density on lowest setting). All of the asteroids would have a beacon (with the asteroids xyz cordinates as the name), no owner, and 4 small cargo containers (each 90% full of urainium) so it ends up being a 2x2x2 block and has beacon set at max range. By doing this with the asteroids and grav units you will only be able to see the beacon of the nearest asteroids (max range of beacons are 50,000km).
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:58pm
Part 2 of 2
If possible can you help me with this so I (and anyone else) can use the new world map for a more realistic exploration map (also have inf asteroids on low density setting) and no other bases on any asteroid (but have 1 antenna or beacon mounted to planet grav unit with a name for the asteroid using the xyz cord for name).

Thank you in advance if you or any other person do this. If I do this then I will be adding you as a contributer because of how much help you have already given me. Also if i do this I will need your email so I can send you a copy of the world file in a zip for you to keep and even post yourself in case there is a world breaking update.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:57pm
Part 1 of 2
I was wondering of there would be a possibilty of having:

1 asteroid (12,000km diameter) set at x0, y0, z0

6 of these set at 50,000km from center so they are at all 6 of the x, y, z, +/- points

18 asteroids (3,000km diameter with all ores) placed at 100,000km from center and from eachother so they make the shape of a + on each side as though they were on the outside of a cube.
This will allow for a full 3d world map and be able to use as an exploration set up.
Have your planet grav system installed so it covers:

12,000km center asteroid is 18,000km diameter grav

This asteroid is 1561.25 diameter grav

3,000km asteroid is 3,750km diameter grav
@Jarhead trust Screaming Angels about what can be done with SEToolbox, that is their program. :)
Screaming Angels  [author] 1 Mar, 2015 @ 3:20am
@jarhead : I have modded spherical gravity you can use already.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=303814784

Layered ores aren't available in SEToolbox.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:16am
15,000km diameter with 1g max accel
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:16am
ok so i just use setool box and i can create one that is layered like yours but much bigger.
also any ideas for a sherical grav gen or do i just need to make a mod for that?
Screaming Angels  [author] 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:10am
I've added a feature to SEToolbox to generate spheres. It can take a while to generate a large sphere. Also, because it is still using the old asteroid file format, it takes a while to load in space engineers and re-save in the new format.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 2:02am
If I did this then I would need sooo many comm sats in orbit just to be able to relay to other side.

So many ideas.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 1:59am
I may even try for a layered world.
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 1:58am
How did you make this? I am thinking about trying to make a planet set in the center of the world map. Size would be about 12,756,200 meters with random ores filling except center (that will be a special grav gen of some sort to provide spherical grav to entire planet and everything within 2,243,800 meters of its surface (total of 15,000,000 meters)). This will allow for a "real" space engineers challenge. Then all of my structures that i build can be large ships instead of stations (so long as they have mass blocks in them and atleast 1 landing gear to hold it).
jarhead 1 Mar, 2015 @ 1:49am
And it's all stone? If so then it's perect for home base construction because who wants to drill that much stone. Thank you. Now I get to spend the next 3-4 months building a base inside while I drill into it.
