Love this mod. Finally feel like I'm controlling a professional squad!
Thanks :-)

This is a fantastic mod. There's some missions I swear are virtually impossible without it (anyone who's played the Drug Bust campaign, that F***ING Witness Escort mission?)

this is jesus

This is and alright mod. I only have a problem with the heaviest armoured fellas. You're specially trained blokes can dump 10 .308 rounds on a bloke and he's still walking around leaving pools of blood. Other times they're dead in one shot? It's just the inconsistency that annoys me. This applies to your SWAT members as well. I hope they adjust the armour system in the next Kickers game.

esta bueno

eh. Armour Isnt really that dangerous. Just send 2 guys against a armoured bad guy and he will always fall.

For some reason this mod does not work for me....

Wish we could just remove the heaviest armored enemies from the game

Finally theres a mod for this.My assaulter kicks in a door with a wounded (?) juggernaut and 2 unarmored people. It takes him 2 shots for the 2 guys and guess where the rest of his mag goes?Into the juggernaut.

Yep, that's exactly why I made this. Real life Level III armor stops all regular type ammo, so all guns in the game would be totally ineffective against it. That includes what your troopers wear, too.

This is great. The only thing I absolutely cannot stand in DK is the armored bad guys because taking them down feels so random, and the weapon descriptions in the game are very poor at describing which weapon is better suited for armored targets. Almost all of them seem to be a general 5.56 round and yet even within that there seems to be a difference. One of the most effective ones I've seen so far is the MP7 I think, which fires an even smaller round. But the armored tango's go down so slow, and yet they take my guys out no problem even in heavy armor.... it often makes no sense to me.

finally, now tactics actually matter

The fact is with the concussive force of a slug from a shotgun, or most modern assault rifles, the hit is likely to knock you sideways to begin with. Least of which is the fact that generic kevlar armour without the ballistic plate, while perhaps stopping the projectile itself (a handful of rounds in quick succession if you're lucky), the vest is actually pushed back into the body cavity with the force of the impact.

No slug in you but you may as well have.

Well that's disappointing. This game is alot of fun, but many of the details just seem to be over-simplified. Oh well.

For now, this mod's a tad too OP for me, but perhaps once I'm sick of having mr. tanky tank showing up and ruining my day I'll come back and just not care. :P

and yeah, to confirm, S.W.A.T don't load AP rounds. as Mandaloin said, that causes liability. They want rounds that will penetrate and stick in a target, to minimize possible civilian casualties. Ex: bad guy is standing infront of hostages, S.W.A.T wants a round that'll neaturalize the threat without risking a innocent life.
Mandaloin  [author] 14 Mar, 2015 @ 2:42pm
And Havoc, I've never heard of a SWAT team loading up with AP rounds. If they use any kind of specialty rounds for their rifles it would be hollow points, as AP rounds go through things and cause liability. Besides, ALL rifle rounds pass through IIIA (soft armor, Low Threat Armor in game), but even AP rounds are stopped by Level IV armor with ease. Level IV is far and away the most common hard armor plates IRL, but for some reason the game has everyone using Level III hard plates in the Raider, Standard, and Extended Protection vests. Level III stops ALL normal rifle rounds, but AP goes straight through it.

All that's moot becuase real criminals just don't wear armor, and even the North Hollywood shooters' armor could be defeated by literally any rifle round.

That's an absolutely fantastic idea, but there is no way to implement it. You're right about being trained to aim center of mass; every firearm training I've ever heard of teaches that. But the skill level of your troopers in game would indicate they should probably aim for the head after the first 2 or 3 shots had no effect. Like a Mozambique drill. But even the Mozambique technique programmed into the game for pistols only has your trooper fire 3 shots instead of 2. It doesn't differentiate if shots are going to the head or body.

TL;DR there's no way you can tell the game to make certain shots go to the body and certain shots go to the head. The game assumes all shots are aimed center of mass.

Sounds like you're looking for suggestions to make it more fair, I feel like there should be a skill level to this. I have no modding experience in this, so I don't know if this is possible to implement, but the officer should be a certain level: For example, say only the lieutenans can take down enemies as if they have no armor, but lesser-trained officers aren't as "good at aiming for the head."

Technically, S.W.A.T is trained to aim center-mass (as are soldiers, at the very least that's how it is where I live. Source: friends dad is a S.W.A.T sergant), so it makes sense that they aren't aiming for the head right away, only the more experienced officers would be able to recognize the target is wearing heavy armor and would adjust their aim accordingly.

Best mod ever, now i can rp the SWAT are loading armour piercing weapons, which i'm sure they'd do in real life, because if SWAT are there, arrest is optional
Norell 8 Mar, 2015 @ 1:29am
Yea give them a raider vest instead or even a assault vest if possible to not make it all to easy
Mandaloin  [author] 6 Mar, 2015 @ 3:18pm
I made this mod to stop Juggernauts who shrug off every weapon, including entire mags from my BAR mod and even sometimes even my M107. Would a version where enemies wear low threat armor, and maybe Juggernauts with raider vests instead of extended protection be more ideal to you?
Imanoob 6 Mar, 2015 @ 1:02pm
Eh, I don't think its worth it. It looks too OP, but I'm fine with people using this. But you can get the exact same result with an MP7. It's so OP against everything, especially armored enemies, in close quarters that I stopped using it because it was game breaking.
Marchwin 6 Mar, 2015 @ 5:36am
well thats the point of the mod
The Cabbage Merchant 5 Mar, 2015 @ 4:19pm
seems a little op...
