A lot of comments have reported that the mod is broken.
I don't think I will be able to fix the issues myself now, as DST changed a lot since I made the mod 4 or 5 years ago and I don't have a lot of time for it.
Any help from other contributors is accepted though. If you like the mod and want to see it work for you and your friends, you can already download it and access the code located in steamapps/common/Dont Starve Together/mods and even edit it locally. If you can fix bugs or make improvements, please contact me so I add you as a contributor and you can make a new release for everyone to enjoy.
I would recommend having prior experience with programming and ideally with DS / DST modding.
If you have any question or want to talk about it, feel free to add me and contact me on Steam, or on Discord (Alk#4414). Thanks !

It's sad to see him not working anymore, but real life definitely comes first. Thank you, at least, for proving to me that a modded character can feel so authentic, despite the shortened lifespan of the mod.

Really sorry, again, for not keeping Wilburn up-to-date. The game
has changed a lot and has had many updates since I created the
mod and since the code for Wilburn itself is very rudimentary and
pretty weak, it would take a lot of work to fix it, because some
parts of it are so sketchy and patchworked, fixing them well would
almost require to remake them entirely, or even remove entire
features if I can't find a better programming solution.
I could do it, but it would take me a lot of time, energy and
motivation, and I'm already drowning in real life work that I have
trouble getting done. I also haven't touched Lua or game
programming in a while, so that would take some time to get back
to it and make the mod work properly again.
Also, some of you told me that they would like to have Wilburn
work in Shipwrecked. Even though it makes me very happy to see
such enthusiasm...
really suck balls in SW. Since the follower system has been left
aside a little in SW, and you find 1/50 as much gold as you do in
vanilla DS, Wilb would be powerless without being able to have his
pigs follow him across the sea, and he would never be able to craft
his items if I don't change them. Wilburn would be the worst
character ever for SW, unless I make new items and add a bunch
of cool stuff to help him. Unfortunately I have even less time for
doing that.
I don't know when I'm going to be free to work on Wilburn again, but
if someone wants to help me get it done more easily, you could
send me the crash logs and explain to me how they happen.
Even though I'm not really into DS as much as before, I like this
character and I'm pleased to see that people like it too. Sorry a
million times for looking lazy as fuck but I really don't have that
much time these days.
Bye bye

If you do end up coming back and fixing him up, it'll surely be worth the wait. For now, I'll stay subscribed just because I know I love this character mod. He's STILL one of the only original character mods that feels like he fits in seamlessly.
Good fortune to you in your studies!
i really like this mod.
btw I code and am interested in learning how to mod the game. I could help you once I figure things out. Would be a shame to lose Wilburn.
About the other new bugs, sadly every time a patch releases stuff like this happens. I think its a great character mod though, and the only balance change that I would like to see is the staff having fewer uses, as its quite strong.
This mod seems to be falling to pieces in some way..
Whaatt whyyy I've never seen that
I'm on holiday with a very very bad internet access right now, I'll dig that up whenever I can. I thought I tested that on DST, but the update on recipes must have broken it.
If you want a workaround to continue with Wilburn, maybe you can ask the world's master to spawn it with c_spawn("wilburnscepter"), until I fix it. Sorry.
