sadly this game is poorly optimalised for multi threads and becuase of it it is CPU-limited
Boatfan123 11 May, 2020 @ 2:35pm
Can you make one thats 60? my computer is still lagging you dont have to
B4mdk 30 May, 2017 @ 10:18am
This is working... Add -limitfps 30 to launch options in steam. Right click Cities Skylines and choose properties. Then find Launch options.
B4mdk 30 May, 2017 @ 8:48am
jjeff1955, why even comment then. just dont use it........ I can use it to have my gtx 970 stay silent when playing. fan gets noisy, so please update this mod... thank you :-)
jjeff1955 19 Apr, 2017 @ 5:48pm
30 fps cause very bad Micro Stutters, smooth at 30 fps Micro Stutteres.
I can not use this Mod, poor Quality fps for a GTX 1080.
enchant97 20 Dec, 2016 @ 10:51am
Really good mod keeps the fps at 30 all the time :)
Blodvrede 1 Dec, 2016 @ 7:50am

Moca Latte 31 Aug, 2016 @ 8:55am

TucknRoll34 21 Jun, 2016 @ 9:09pm
This isn't working for me do I need to do anything in game other then just subscriping to the mod?
ksulawauk 3 Mar, 2016 @ 3:41am
Works perfect :))
Abu Obeida 21 Feb, 2016 @ 6:01pm
It's good that there's a mod for this. My 980 TI gets up to 85 celcius when playing this game uncapped
Dertyde94 7 Feb, 2016 @ 5:43am
Works really well, thanks :)
roawh 30 Oct, 2015 @ 2:53pm
You can also do this by opening C:S properties, launch options and using -limitfps 30"...personally i like the speed of the cars better at 30fps.
Space Coward 1 Oct, 2015 @ 8:47pm
I'm not quite sure how my Pentium's going to handle this game (online benchmarks aren't very reassuring), so I'm subscribing just in case things don't go well. Thanks!
hup 29 Sep, 2015 @ 9:01am
I love it on my laptop :)
PrMinisterGR 6 Aug, 2015 @ 12:18pm
Please don't listen to the idiots, thanks for your work. To the idiots: The whole point of the PC is not the 60. or 120, or 144 fps, it is flexibility, being able to do whtever you want to do with the damn thing. This game uses 99% of the GPU all the time, and in heat-constrained situation a mod like this is a life saver. Thank you.
rink 6 Jun, 2015 @ 12:12pm
I always wanted to play this game on Xbox, and now I (sorta) can! Thanks!
cowwithguns 22 Mar, 2015 @ 12:06pm
Can you add slide show levels of frame rate? I really want to play this game like it is on Microsoft Slideshow
hup 21 Mar, 2015 @ 1:51pm
Strange, i lag without this mod :)
Mackidoodoo 18 Mar, 2015 @ 6:17am
Thanks. Works perfect. My GPU is running cool again. x
ioneepj 17 Mar, 2015 @ 3:24pm
many thanx amigo ... this mod makes this game muuuch much playable 4 my ... was good b4 but now is just perfect :)
Mountlover 16 Mar, 2015 @ 5:56pm
Just wanted to say thanks for this. Cities: Skyines made my GPU run at 90+ degrees. Thanks to this limiter, I've managed to bring that temperature down significantly.
0d1 16 Mar, 2015 @ 9:59am
On my system, this mod does nothing to reduce the insane GPU load of this game. I've subscribed, it shows up in my mods in game, and my GPU load is still over 90%, no matter what. Radeon 6950, i7. Sorry, wish it helped, but can't recommend it.
dgthr 16 Mar, 2015 @ 4:39am
so many stupid comments. "haha cinematic feeeel!!!" you are not funny. this is not a first person shooter, it's a simulation game.
taiiat 15 Mar, 2015 @ 4:16pm
you can set Framerate Caps globally and for each game specific profile in your Driver settings for AMD/ATI & Nvidia GPU's.
i assume 99.9% of customers will have dedicated GPU's.

i guess this could be easier for some, but you can set Framerate Caps of just about anything you want in your Drivers. (i recommend Radeon Pro & Nvidia Inspector). it's a solution for every Video Game, rather than for just one.
49Mr Black 15 Mar, 2015 @ 2:42pm
Why would you want to lock it to 30fps? Oh sorry, for dat cinematic effect.
fatfluffycat 15 Mar, 2015 @ 11:10am
Make a 20 fps limiter please.

I'm serious too.
saschabrix 15 Mar, 2015 @ 1:46am
thanks! It works really good.
Please could you do another one for 24fps?

My laptop would appreciate it!
douglasg14b 14 Mar, 2015 @ 6:31pm
While a lot of people here will sput about peasantry, I find this useful. My room already turns into a furnace from my PC, if I can limit the framerate and reduce GPU load then my room is more comfortable to sit in and I cna enjoy the game more. Even if the framerate is not ideal.
法尔科 12 Mar, 2015 @ 10:42pm
Peasantry has arrived! XD
Dross 12 Mar, 2015 @ 12:15pm
Looks so cinematic now!
Bad Behavior Defender 12 Mar, 2015 @ 12:01pm
You should rename your mod: "Cities: Skylines, Cinematic Edition". :tgrin:
Couq 12 Mar, 2015 @ 4:33am
Works while city is loaded, not in menu. Thanks for the mod, now my GTX770 don't need to work that much and my electricity bill is the happier!
Mumen Rider 11 Mar, 2015 @ 10:41am
It's actually useful. Would be better if it was configurable between nolimit/screen/60/48/30/24.
[tcc]`| Opiboble 11 Mar, 2015 @ 9:21am
... I have seen a lot of dumb in the world, this is in the top 10 list...
Hermes_ 11 Mar, 2015 @ 9:12am
Is that a new DLC from Ubisoft? ☺
Baleur 11 Mar, 2015 @ 8:36am
Stupid comments.
Thanks for this mod, it actually makes the game more stable on my laptop (it doesnt need to overheat to reach the occasional 38fps when viewing the world from far away).
If your laptop runs the game at 25fps most of the time, and struggling to not overheat, this mod helps. Thanks.
Shiny Charizard 11 Mar, 2015 @ 8:27am
truly next gen
metal gear flacid 11 Mar, 2015 @ 8:16am
Why not 24fps for full cinematic experiance?
Hoovy 11 Mar, 2015 @ 7:16am
The console experience I wanted from this game. 2/10, dank mod.

DERO 11 Mar, 2015 @ 5:48am
I want Framelimiter 0.5 - limits your framerate to 0.5FPS for the most cinematic experience imaginable.

Do it now.
Mansen 11 Mar, 2015 @ 5:32am
For that 30FPS Cinematic feel!
Stargatemunky 11 Mar, 2015 @ 5:03am
Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to set it to 30 instead of 6fps. I want to avoid over heating my GPU not simulate a Gameboy Colour™.
Doktor Delta 11 Mar, 2015 @ 3:58am
Cinematic!
Zesty 11 Mar, 2015 @ 3:50am
Fully console experience /s
Well it's great for mobile laptop gamers too
Sam 11 Mar, 2015 @ 2:23am
Peasants approves this mod.
