The original one is offline but I think here's a short version with the illustrations I remember: (https://www.fusedgrid.ca/docs/FusedGrid-theModel.pdf)

Hi thank you for this but could you update the link to the study? Maybe better to just post a reference or a doi? Thanks again, gonna check it out.

Does Service building have good range with this layout? Every time I try something like this, I have to build tons of service buildings to cover all the streets

@BFBlazer, All grid/template mods like this are located in the Intersections portion of the toolbar. This said you should download all roads unless you want it to be locked until you hit a population milestone

Where do I find the mod once I'm in game on the map? I've just started a new map so it may be blocked but I don't see it and I see the intersections I've subscribed to.

This is awesome. I played simcity before and got too used to the way zoning automatically places roads for you. This solves everything

Is it possible to change your mods to have zero population requirements? This would help out just starting a new map, and that is currently not possible due to restrictions.

Awsome mod

So smart

You have to delte the little spurs on the side of the road you delete as well. Then re add them after. You can see in that picture that they are red.

I must still be missing something - I place a first one, deleted the outside roads to the left and then tried to place a second one - I get the 'space already occupied' message - see the screenshot: http://imgur.com/bhaVQul
sorry for being such a noob here :-)

@BernieTB2
Just delete 1 of the 4 outside roads. Then place the pattern onto the free side which you just cleared up.

I'm a bit puzzled as to how to link these together :-(

Thanks, I tend to overplan my cities from the start.... (:
Scrove 16 Mar, 2015 @ 4:49am
Thanks, that is apperciated.
DANi  [author] 16 Mar, 2015 @ 4:13am
It wasn't really made for the beginning of the game but yeah I'll make one, atleast with the small version here it makes sense.
Draoidho 16 Mar, 2015 @ 2:22am
Would you be able to recreate this using roads with the starting roads?
Scrove 15 Mar, 2015 @ 8:10pm
Can I suggest not using the roads that require higher unlocks? Simple two lands with out trees would make it useable in the begining.

They are not really designed for high residential areas according to the study. In the game the pattern has some benefits though. I noticed that all my service cars could get very quickly to their assignment.

I tried these and used arterial roads between a set of 4 of them. Despite messing with one-ways and complete revamps, it went to complete shit. They are definitely best used in quiet suburb type set ups, not city centres. Although I'd love to see someone tie them in so that they work.

Nice job!
But to be able to combine them without creating lots of stoplights, you need a mirror version of the pattern. Not hard to do in the assets editor once you know the patter, just a heads up!
