The only roads that can be used during the creation of the map are the highway and its outputs. Usually I enter the highway network as real ones (if it is possible), but in this case we are talking about an island with few buildable space and a great view. Use the highways would be really ugly and unseemly :)
Amazing! I'm glad you enjoyed my work :)
@Baleur
it took me several hours and lots of patience to diversify deeper depth of the seabed.
The thin island is all residental and commerical. Having a horrible time getting my trains to balance where they drop their loads off.
Building my city on the map, and reading some of your comments, I realized that there was some problems to be solved, especially with regard to the available resources.
So, I modified the availability of arable farmland decreasing vegetation in flatter areas close to the sea (thanks to Traveller).
Thank you all for the positive feedback!
Have fun: D
Too much forest isn't a totally good thing. I like to have some of my forest industry on a resource (resource gathering) and some of my forest industry not on the resource (processing), and if all of my forest tiles allow gathering, I don't have that much control. Also, that many trees might be excessive for its performance impact.
The arable farmland on slopes seems like a mistake, I spent quite a while (unsuccessfully) trying to fudge my roads to get buildable tiles on those slopes. Kill off some of the trees in flat areas, and put farmland there instead?
Other than that it looks great, the oil and ore are fine.
In the new releas (v4) i added a rails connection adjacent to the highway at north (thanks TPangolin)
Have fun and thumbs up if you like my work
I just released a new version corrected.
thanks man!
The first is that the highway at the top of the map, doesn't actually enter into the buildable area, so at the current moment it is impossible to connect road to it. You should probably extend that road a bit and make sure that it is accessible.
The second is a map glitch with the highway off ramp pieces leading into the buildable tile. One side of the highway
I've uploaded two images to my 'artwork' section on my Steam profile. Apparently the Steam Overlay isn't working for me, so I can't take ingame screenshots with steam and upload them through that method.
yes, I used terrain.party for the heightmap, lots of patience and a few hours to recreate everything as accurately as possible.
