@Solintar
I mean, not to be late to the party, but in 2023 it still works for me just fine.
Solintar 20 May, 2021 @ 11:24am
has this mod been updated and/or current
Bahlonee 3 Apr, 2021 @ 11:57pm
Awesome idea, not only for durability but also for airtight constructions, I would love to see a sibling mod for hydrogen tanks based on this one.

The number of times an exposed H-Tank goes boom with a tiny tap is ridiculous. It feels like an equation:

If Tank is hit And Tank is >50% full Then BOOOM :)
Santibag 11 Oct, 2020 @ 7:39am
Man, the collision box changes probably affected this mod. Now this is probably bigger than it needs to be. I would love if mods that weren't updated were offseted by the game.
Asher 27 Mar, 2019 @ 1:56am
@Eikester are you planning on updating your mods to 1.89?
Victoria, Angel of the void 26 Mar, 2019 @ 9:21am
What's the weight compared to normal cargo boxes?
Locomotor79 6 Mar, 2019 @ 8:12am
can you update your amored cargo for the latest version off the game
AzureAssaulter 12 Jul, 2016 @ 7:50am
so it has two sizes of conveyor
Mike Loeven 8 Sep, 2015 @ 8:14am
You need to adjust the health or resistance of these containers the destruction of a thruster or tool attached to the container will almost always instantly destroy the container this seems to defeat the whole purpose of having a armored container if it is this easy to destroy there needs to be something changed in the block to prevent transmission of damage from a tool to the container
Eikester  [author] 31 Jul, 2015 @ 7:25pm
DX11 Update and they should now be Airtight
Railgunner2160 6 Jun, 2015 @ 2:36pm
Will we see this updated to DX11?? These are great for sealing up cargo areas to make them airthight!
Kam Solastor 26 May, 2015 @ 3:17pm
Also, can you please ensure these count as airtight blocks? I just did a few checks and these leak air. Would appreciate it if I didn't suffocate to death in my cargo hold xD
Kam Solastor 19 May, 2015 @ 11:58am
And I did check - they all belong to me
Kam Solastor 19 May, 2015 @ 11:58am
For some reason, sometimes the containers - at least, the small ones, on a large ship, will not have the access point on them - neither the button panel nor the access chute on it will work for some reason, leaving me unable to access the cargo without going to some other block connected to it
Sprawly 10 May, 2015 @ 12:47am
Did anyone else notice if the the server multiplyer didn't modify the cargo space of this block? I've been playing on 10x and I built one of these and the cargo space didn't match that of a vanilla.
Hellsteel1974 6 Apr, 2015 @ 11:23am
@Eikester I been trying to find the reason for the behaviour of the armored containers in my game but haven't found a mod or certain sane reason why it happened. Though even I have just your mod active in the save, some of the yellow areas indicating the active selection, tend to flicker very fast like they would be going on and off rapidly, and I wonder if I had too many mods at one time to slow the game or something and this flickering is connected to what happened to me. When I look at the vanilla containers or assembler or such, the yellow area is stable, whether I stand still, hover still or move towards or away the selection. I hope I make any sense describing what happens in my game.
So at this moment you may consider this as weird anomaly that happens only in my universe and I will continue looking into the matter while I play more normally and inform you if I get to replicate the original not responding activation areas or what ever they are called :)
Hellsteel1974 6 Apr, 2015 @ 10:00am
Ok, I take it back, now after exiting SE and starting it up from desktop, DT Modpack and this mod work together, I just suspected DT modpack cause it had similar all way conveyor interior tubes. Sorry, I need to look more into my mod list now, if some other mod causes this or I just have too many mods loaded at the same time for the engine to handle it.
Eikester  [author] 6 Apr, 2015 @ 8:30am
@Hellsteel1974 thats odd, i dont see a way how this Mod and OncaLupe's Mods could conflict since i use the prefix "Eikester_" for all Block SybtypeId's in nearly all my Mods
Vinier McNuggNugg 31 Mar, 2015 @ 6:52pm
not the best exterior
Railgunner2160 27 Mar, 2015 @ 8:21am
Thanks Eikester, these were perfect for replacing the Containers on my Advanced Mining Hauler to make it airtight!!! Another perfect use for your stuff!!!
Scya 22 Mar, 2015 @ 4:35pm
@Eikester
Hello again, I've tested what will happen if You change the inventory size so, the actual cargo volume will be higher then max capacity. It will only remove the last item, which is above the max capacity. And if You change the map setting to Creative, the item will be back again. So You can move it elsewhere and change the setting back to Survival.
There is no obstacle to fix large Large Armored Container Inventory size to 7,5x7,5x7,5 :-)

Maybe one little suggestion:
Small grid Large Armored Container has Computer component as the last in the build list. One hit and the container is damaged and will not work. Can You please move some Steel Plates in the order above Computers to protect them? Thanks :-)
K1ll3rm4x 22 Mar, 2015 @ 4:11am
Well. Out of nowhere now it is working. Maybe i just had some weird angle or smth in between so i could not access the container. Great Mod btw :D
K1ll3rm4x 22 Mar, 2015 @ 3:11am
Am I the only one who cant access the cargobay or controlpanel ?
Tested only the large big ship container so far.
Using conveyor works fine though.
BlackRedDead 19 Mar, 2015 @ 11:55am
im confused about the small ship large containers big increase of motor and computer parts... ?
BlackRedDead 19 Mar, 2015 @ 11:54am
tip for descripton, some spaces (" ") will help readability of values ;-)
(a.e. Inventory size: 2,5 x 2,5 x 2,5 - if that is meant^^ read it first time like 2, 5x2, ... :D)
Mojo 18 Mar, 2015 @ 4:55pm
I like these. It is definitly nice to have a container with its own armor, even though I haven't had a cargo container blow up on me in a loooooong time. :)
TheBoot 18 Mar, 2015 @ 2:05pm
Now... if you are considering the armored cargo container to be lightly armored, then your initial proposed value of 150 steel plate for the armored large container is right on.
Really depends on how armored you want to consider the container.
TheBoot 18 Mar, 2015 @ 2:03pm
I can see a case for requiring more steel plate. Take the large station cargo container for example. It's basically 27 cubes in volume. Ignore the very center cube and the 6 connection zones so you're left with 20 cubes. If you imagine using 8 heavy inverse corner cubes (125 plates each) and 12 heavy slope cubes (75 plates each) to armor the container exterior that would give you 1900 plates. Factoring in cargo container size reducing the actual armor thickness, let's say you halve the number of plates, give or take. That puts you between 800 - 1000 steel plates. I'd say that's pretty reasonable, and if most of them are end the end of the build, that makes for a pretty sturdy cargo container!
lazurkri 18 Mar, 2015 @ 1:28pm
Yay! Now I can make a absolutely bare bones cargo or miner ship and I DON'T have to worry about accidentally trashing the cargo modules in case of a collision!
Arcamean 18 Mar, 2015 @ 4:36am
Finally the perfect miners cargo?
Daniel L Parry 17 Mar, 2015 @ 8:12pm
Very Useful , largely because i can use the Large Cargo as a Floor now rather than having to put in an extra blocks layerer of pannels or blocks to build the floor level, and is a much neater option when insetting a cargo pod into a wall for easy access
Audiopulse 17 Mar, 2015 @ 6:49am
Good work, I like the idea and would definately use it. Theres some personal criticism though:
I think the cost for large Container (large Ship) for example could be way higher. Steelplates could be 1500-2000 for example, where the other ingredients would also scale accordingly.

Why so expensive? I think your Cargos are one of the late-game-blocks. Something you upgrade your vanilla large Cargos after youre basically swimming in resources. The Large Refinery-mod I like to use does it just like that: The machine is huge and it takes - i believe - around 8000 Steelplates. You can imagine it is quite efficient at in what it does, though, and helps keeping oversight in the inventories as it replaces 5 regular Refineries.

On a little sidenote - I also think a bit of detail on the sides, instead of just flat surfaces, would also do good :)
Valyn 16 Mar, 2015 @ 11:31pm
If you want to fix the container cap issue use DK Cargo Overhaul.

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=375315957

this mod and that would work well, but if would not be balanced if i use both due to improved cap and Armor.
Vargali 16 Mar, 2015 @ 9:53pm
i like these..if for no other reason than the annoying gap between containers is gone...now i can walk on top of my large cans.....
Nioreux 16 Mar, 2015 @ 2:52pm
eikester
Nioreux 16 Mar, 2015 @ 2:52pm
thankyou
LookAtMyHorse 16 Mar, 2015 @ 1:57pm
@eikester @Valyn
As BioMech already noted you might notice Vanilla Large Container model take up less space than actual 7,5m3 volume. the space it doesn't take is enough for steel plating being put there at least once or even twice. i see no actual need to nerf their capacity, only thing i can suggest is replacing most interior plates with steel plates cause there is no decorative side in your containers which means there is no need for excessive amounts of decorative components such as interior plate
BioMech 16 Mar, 2015 @ 1:23pm
Capacity seems balanced. Consider that the extra armor is replacing the open space in the unarmored versions (as steel plates bolted to the outside of the vanilla one). The increase in cost sould be only relative to the alterations (steelplates for armor, motors / computers / displays only if there was an actual alteration in the ports setup (like the extra ports in the armored small ship large container). That, of course, is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
Eikester  [author] 16 Mar, 2015 @ 12:03pm
@Valyn the Container are really Armored, very hard to destroy (probably to hard), i agree to the sizes and i may change this later (not sure what would happen to full Container if i change the inventory size tho)
Valyn 16 Mar, 2015 @ 11:11am
Is the 'Armored' cosmetic or is it actually armored so as to be harder to destory?

The container would hold less if the same size to compensate for the added armor, or it would be larger but the same storage cap.
Scya 15 Mar, 2015 @ 2:31pm
@Eikester
I've talked about your Armored containers. In description of Large one is written: "Inventory Size: 7,75x7,75x7,75" but its size is actually 7,5mx7,5mx7,5m.
By the way, i really dont understand, why devs haven't fix the cargo volume yet..
ShieldKnight857 15 Mar, 2015 @ 2:24pm
Awesome! This is how cargo containers should be! They will get rid of those holes in the Easy Start 2! :)
Eikester  [author] 15 Mar, 2015 @ 2:17pm
the Vanilla Container of course
Eikester  [author] 15 Mar, 2015 @ 2:16pm
@Scya actually placing 27 Small Container gives you more inventory than placing 1 large Container, the Small Container has an Inventory of 2,5m³ the Large Container only has 5m³ (but occupies 7,5m³/3x3x3)
Scya 15 Mar, 2015 @ 1:49pm
Great idea! I like especial the new option of small conveyors on large container. But I must disagree with the 10% space bonus for large container. Mostly because it is more space than the container itself even occupys. And secondly there is already balance between large and small container: Large is only 3x so expensive compared to small, but has 27x more space.
LookAtMyHorse 15 Mar, 2015 @ 11:15am
great mod,
is it possible for it to blend with vanilla armor texture?
Shadow_Wolf 15 Mar, 2015 @ 10:49am
That will be perfect for Military vessels, im tired of deformed armor blocks destroying the cargo containers...
Webmind 1 15 Mar, 2015 @ 10:40am
Looks too much like a conveyor and the lettering is a bit tacky, but it"s a good idea...
Eikester  [author] 15 Mar, 2015 @ 10:28am
Those are only the Large Ship Containers for now, i am working on the Small Ship versions and they will have both large and small Conveyor Ports, i will probably arrange them the same way as the vanilla ones (if i dont find a better way)
Wulf_Jarlson 15 Mar, 2015 @ 10:21am
Thank you for this.

Does the medium containor have large ports? Or would that compromise the armor of that side.
If large ports are possible, would you arange the pots so there are 3 large and 3 small ports on the medium container?

Big thumbs up from me to you again.
