Lorebot Yes thx it works after that. Great mod:interceptor:
Lorebot  [author] 22 Jul, 2023 @ 9:00am
@judith I would recommend you reinstall the game and the mod. The vast majority of issues are resolved by that.
Judith 22 Jul, 2023 @ 8:08am
dosent work for me, then i try set 2 wepon game stop work :(
Michael 20 Jul, 2023 @ 10:57am

@Geralt thanks a ton! It's been almost a decade since I made this mod, it's nice to see ppl still using and enjoying it :)

Second what Ryu said, doesn't seem to work anymore.
Ryu 23 Dec, 2022 @ 1:43pm
Doesn't seem to be working anymore, even with new games.

@Blackst4r to use a mod you must go into modding tools in the launcher. There you will see all mods you have subscribed to on the steam workshop. If this doesn't work I recommend that you unsubscribe from this mod, launch xenonauts, close xenonauts resubscribe to this mod and if it doesn't fix idfk what else can help
Lorebot  [author] 9 Jan, 2022 @ 7:50am
@blackst4r I can't help you with that, it's a steam thing when the subscribed mods don't download. I'm not sure how to force it to do so, maybe do a google search for it?
Blackst4r 9 Jan, 2022 @ 7:34am
I have a problem installing this mod. Already subscribed but not downloaded
Mentat76 29 Aug, 2020 @ 5:45am
I do enjoy this mod fairly albeit I find it too OP and breaking the balance of the game IMO. With these equipped, medium UFO and corvette UFO's are literally easy targets and could be taken with only Single FOXTROT rather than 2.

I would consider deactivating this mod in easy and normal difficulties but it might be a better option for harder difficulty games.
internetrules 30 Sep, 2019 @ 3:52pm
is the foxtrot considerd under powerd? in my CE veteran game i have only been using foxtrots so far with no condors.

1 foxtrot can take out 2 light fighters, or 2 heavy fighters. with the light fighters just bait out their missiles then afterburner straight into them, and fire a missile at melee range where they literally cant dodge.

and with the heavy fighter, you can just afterburner and try to go around their guns cuz they dont lead their guns, then low throttle and attack from their side cuz the heavy fighter turn rate is so bad.
Lorebot  [author] 16 Aug, 2019 @ 3:16am
I just reinstalled the game and can confirm that the mod is working for me. I think you probably just need a fresh install of the game.
Lorebot  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 3:38pm
@Karl I've had issues with Xenonauts not recognizing mods before, try reinstalling the game, then the mod, and see if that helps.
Karl Power 15 Aug, 2019 @ 10:19am
Lorebot: Thank you for your answer. I installed the mod and started a new campaign, so it should work. It seems however your mod is working well for other players, so don't worry. Maybe it is an issue only I have for other reasons than your mod.
Lorebot  [author] 15 Aug, 2019 @ 7:39am
@Karl Power; did you install the mod before or after building the Foxtrot. The changes will only apply to new Foxtrots built after installing the mod, existing Foxtrots will be unchanged or could be bugged and crash your game when interacting with them. If you built the Foxtrot after installing and activating the mod then there could be a problem. I would have to reinstall the game and tech up to the Foxtrot to verify that it's still working properly.
Karl Power 8 Aug, 2019 @ 12:54pm
For me, it does not work; the game itself runs fine, but the Foxtrot has 2 heavy hardpoints only. Vanilla steam Xenonauts version, mod is activated in the launcher.
At1as 7 Mar, 2018 @ 10:49am
Sorry for not answering for a long time - my laptop died. Just bought a new one. Thanks for the hint. Will start a new game and tell the results.
Lorebot  [author] 15 Feb, 2018 @ 6:15pm
@At1as that happens when you load a saved game with existing Foxtrots from before you installed the mod. You need to start fresh, or at least load a save from before you built any Foxtrots, for it to work properly. If you don't want to start a fresh game you'll need to sell any existing Foxtrots and build new ones for it to allow you to interact with the weapon slots without crashing.
At1as 15 Feb, 2018 @ 12:26pm
The aircraft appeard with heavy rocket fited into light rocket slot (in the slot it could be fited not). On my trying to refit the rocket (clicking on it) the game hangs. That is the problem.
Lorebot  [author] 14 Feb, 2018 @ 9:47am
@At1as need more info if i'm going to help you get it working. It works fine for me and everyone else.
At1as 14 Feb, 2018 @ 8:11am
It does NOT work. Game hangs.
Casaubon 23 Oct, 2017 @ 10:59am
I can confirm it works with community edition. I´m playing it right now. Maybe you need to rearrange the order of your active Mods in your launcher ODSTbag337 and put better Foxtrott further up.
ODSTbag337 20 Oct, 2017 @ 6:34pm
I have tested it, and can confirm it does NOT work.
Community edition overwrites how aircraft function, therefore overwriting any mods that change or add aircraft that haven't been optimized for it.
Lorebot  [author] 20 Oct, 2017 @ 2:15pm
@Casaubon I don't know about the community edition, I've never played it so I've never tested it.
Casaubon 20 Oct, 2017 @ 2:53am
It´s a good idea to have added missiles and no MG. So the game still needs dogfighters in certain situations. Does this work with community edition?
ODSTbag337 12 Oct, 2017 @ 11:36am
Maybe for you . . .
Sebbychou 27 Jun, 2016 @ 12:11am
"better against smaller alien ships that can dodge"

Just launch your missile while right on top of the target. Instant-hit, can't be dodged. I never needed to get anything better than the vanilla Foxtrot... I can't imagine how OP this one would be.
Lorebot  [author] 22 Jun, 2016 @ 9:55pm
@Kennethsw you really shouldn't send the Foxtrot out after any of the smaller ships in the game unless you have nothing else that can catch them. The lack of a cannon and combat roll maneuver make it far less effective in a fight against fighters and small craft that can combat roll themselves. It's fast, but not very agile, so unless you can kill the enemy ships in your initial strike or win via autoresolve the Interceptors are far better. My normal strike group when I first get access to the Foxtrot is 1 Foxtrot and 2 Interceptors to protect it. Enemy ships tend to target the Foxtrot first so it allows the Interceptors to take control of the engagement.
kensw 22 Jun, 2016 @ 7:22pm
Thanks for fast answer I will give it a try with 4 light missles until bigger ships show up. I am still learning have not gotten far yet.
Lorebot  [author] 22 Jun, 2016 @ 7:18pm
@Kennethsw under the default autoresolve scheme it does actually improve the chances of success, but only slightly. Torpedos don't have much of an autoresolve value and the Foxtrot still has a 0 value by default. You can improve it's autoresolve value by putting missiles in the large hardpoints, but it still won't be as good as any of the dogfighter planes since the combat roll maneuver counts for an extremely large amount of autoresolve value.
kensw 22 Jun, 2016 @ 6:34pm
Working great or me. Curious about one thing though does this improve your odds using autoresolve? It seems too but hard to be sure. I am terrible at manual dogfights.
xenohunter 14 Jun, 2016 @ 9:56am
The smaller alien ships (even the fighter and heavy fighter) can be easily defeated with torpedos. When you attack from the side their ability to do evasive rolls does not work for them. Of course you need several foxtrots (at least one, which usually get targeted by alien fighters) use the other one (which is not engaged) to flank the alien fighters and fire torpedos from close range manually.
EarlofBronze 29 Dec, 2015 @ 2:14pm
With this mod a full flight of three foxtrots bearing fusion weapons would have a payload the same as the nuke dropped on Hiroshima
Vinier McNuggNugg 24 Dec, 2015 @ 12:36am
I thought you added a machine gun to it or something but nah. MISSILES
Lorebot  [author] 5 Nov, 2015 @ 6:19pm
When you start the game you should see the game's launcher window with a bunch of buttons above the Play Xenonauts button and the resolution selection. The middle button in the top row should be Mod Launcher, click that and it should bring up the window listing all your downloaded mods. Make sure the mod is installed and activated.
ReyCV 5 Nov, 2015 @ 5:28pm
Where do I have to look to determine if the MOD is activated? I saw the download take place but that is all.
ReyCV 5 Nov, 2015 @ 4:36pm
Thank you for the hint,I will check to see if it is activated or not.
Lorebot  [author] 5 Nov, 2015 @ 11:28am
The only other thing I can think of is that you may not have activated the mod in the game's mod launcher. If the mod isn't activated it won't have any effect on the game even if it's downloaded and installed. I just launched the game myself and noticed that all my mods were deactivated by a recent update so double check that it's turned on.
ReyCV 4 Nov, 2015 @ 9:11pm
I did asinstructed but it did not work. I unsubscribed from the MOD, uninstalled the game and reinstalled thegame and the MOD. Began a new game and the Foxtrot came out with only the original two latge missles. I did not mention that I am using Windows 10 and that the sound effects can barely be heard, the controler for it does nothing.
Lorebot  [author] 1 Nov, 2015 @ 7:51pm
Also, after reinstalling the game and redownloading the mod you'll need to start a new game, or at least use a save from before you built any Foxtrots to see immediate effects of the mod. If you load a save with Foxtrots built before installing the mod they won't be modified by it and you'd need to build a new Foxtrot to see the effects because of the way the game saves vehicle/plane stats and loadouts.
Lorebot  [author] 1 Nov, 2015 @ 7:47pm
If you uninstalled the game after subscribing to the mod you'll have to unsub/resub to it so steam downloads the files again for you. If that doesn't work let me know; I don't recall there being any updates to the game recently, but I haven't been paying much attention to Xenonauts for a while either so I may have missed changes or updates which could have broken things with my mods. I'll do some checking on my end, but as far as I can tell everything's still working properly in my game.
ReyCV 1 Nov, 2015 @ 4:26pm
I have no other MODs installed.
ReyCV 1 Nov, 2015 @ 4:25pm
I subscribed to this MOD but it did not work. As others have reported, I began a new game but the Foxtrot plane that was built did not have the added weaponry. I uninstalled the game and re installed it but had the same results; no new weaponry. Should I unsubscribe and subscribe again? Is there something I should have done to get the MOD working?
Hammer Of Evil 14 Oct, 2015 @ 3:13pm
I like this because as a long range destroyer, it really lacks in the close range department. I feel that it should have been balanced to begin with - but the developers kind of just went with whatever their community was saying, rather than looking at fun factor. sure you can squadron it with some smaller planes, but I don't see any rightminded engineer designing a long range destroyer without giving it more than one pair of missiles or well as a shorter ranged cannon. I get that you have to save weight, but with only one pair of missiles the plane should be able to reach across the world - and it can't.

It doesn't make any sense at all, sending it out with a single payload, and if you miss, or the enemy dodges it's 'hit the afterburners, we have to get out of here' if you don't autobattle lol great idea for a mod. makes the learning curve for new guys less severe for sure. and makes the punishing investment for foxtrots less risky overall.
Tankqull 4 Oct, 2015 @ 1:36am
Several other Mods are in use - but i guess i reinstall the game first that could be an actual reason, thx for your help attempts :steamhappy:
Lorebot  [author] 3 Oct, 2015 @ 6:55am
@Tankqull, are you using any other mods? I've spent some time trying to replicate what you described and it's not happening for me. Best thing I can suggest is reinstalling Xenonauts and giving it another try. There's a chance that your install is functionally corrupt, it's happened to me before. The game seemed to work just fine, but it behaved strangely after installing a mod. Reinstalling fixed it, no clue why.
Tankqull 3 Oct, 2015 @ 4:04am
created an entire new game - as your mod description indicated problems with existing foxtrots.
