you saved my city !!!!!! (: thanks!

It's 8 years old...and completely unnecessary at this point. It was created at a time when you couldn't create water utilities without hex-editing the building data. I'm not sure if it works or not at this point, I don't use it, but it seems ridiculous to run down an asset from the very early days of the game at this point...do something more productive with your time.

Doesn't even work.

There is a comment that says "Do not place it in an industrial/polluted area".
In RL, at least in Winnipeg, most if not all treatment plants and aeration ponds are isolated from ground water and have flood barriers so during a flood, unless the flood water rise over the protecting walls (which would then have sandbag height additions), the polluted flood waters can not effect the water treatment. Also the underground water pipes are naturally pressurized to minimize groundwater entering the system (my father was a plumber in Winnipeg until 1999).
Because of this we also have some treatment plants in or on the edges of actual industrial areas.
With the above in mind, how difficult would it be to create a modified version that was not affected by polluted ground?

@Cartzilla, Subscribed yesterday. The mod works as advertised. My city's water pumps were getting polluted due to the river running backwards due to diminishing water levels in the river. Once I installed the treatment plants and water towers my cims stopped dying and population began to increase again. Thank You so much for this mod!

@Carlzilla, oh ok if it is a game limitation then no problem
Carlzilla  [author] 18 Jun, 2016 @ 6:32pm
In a perfect world, yes...however, the game isn't set up for that, so this is pretty much the only way to do it.
SonicTheWarthog 18 Jun, 2016 @ 6:20pm
so this actually produces water? shouldnt this just clean water for the system it is connected tp?
LaurentianMiniatures 27 May, 2016 @ 2:07pm
I created a map for myself designed after the US Midwest. So there is lots of farming and open flat land but the problem was I added way to little of water space for my mid/late game city. I needed a water treatment place that would work without taking up space on my rivers. This really helped out. Now my city (farms) works fine. Thank you!
Carlzilla  [author] 3 Mar, 2016 @ 7:07am
Yes, don't place it in an industrial/poluted area.
DocFuzz 2 Mar, 2016 @ 10:27pm
It pumps sewage into the water system... Am i doing something wrong?
Carlzilla  [author] 20 Feb, 2016 @ 8:19am
Yeah, it worked for me when I booted the game up. Not sure what needs to be updated.
cptnemo77 20 Feb, 2016 @ 7:23am
I just started a new city using Snowfall map, this mod works fine for me :) Very necessary mod, thanks for your work :)
Carlzilla  [author] 18 Feb, 2016 @ 5:33pm
I haven't loaded the game since buying Snowfall, but I absolutely will update as soon as I have time to get into the game again...which most likely will be sometime tomorrow.
ohdarlin56 18 Feb, 2016 @ 3:14pm
This has always worked flawlessly for me -not sure why it is not showing up on Snowfall.
Borklund 18 Feb, 2016 @ 1:03pm
Update for Snowfall please?
Carlzilla  [author] 15 Dec, 2015 @ 7:52am
Limitation of the game.
EllerSure 15 Dec, 2015 @ 5:22am
+1
it's dose not recycle the water ,but pump directly from the underground like a water tower :(
stuntofthelitter 13 Nov, 2015 @ 11:35pm
Built in an industrial district, poisoned my entire town. Unless I'm very mistaken it seemed to treat the water return to the system as if it was a water tower. Ideally that shouldn't happen since the purification is a closed system, but I can understand if for technical reasons it works this way. Relocated the building works fine, was just somewhat of a shock =)
Borklund 27 Sep, 2015 @ 12:10pm
That looks great :)
Carlzilla  [author] 27 Sep, 2015 @ 12:10pm
Done.
Borklund 27 Sep, 2015 @ 11:55am
Thanks!
Carlzilla  [author] 27 Sep, 2015 @ 11:52am
I may add some lights, I was playing earlier today and noticed how dark it looked. I'm not much of a "3d modeler" though, so I doubt I'll update the texture or anything, probably just some pre-lit light props. We'll see.
Borklund 27 Sep, 2015 @ 11:31am
Love it, are you going to update for After Dark? :)
Colin 22 Sep, 2015 @ 3:37am
Could you please fix the textures on this? Each "brick" on the building is about the size of a car.
kui 6 Aug, 2015 @ 11:32am
The textures are a bit iffy but I still use it in most of my cities.
ohdarlin56 7 Jun, 2015 @ 3:48pm
Subscribed when I first saw this. Works perfectly. Never an issue. You just can't put it in the industrial section. No muss no fuss.
Carlzilla  [author] 9 May, 2015 @ 4:10pm
I use a 1/4 garbage mod, becuase each house produces something ridiculous like a literal ton of garbage every week if you don't.
Elias 9 May, 2015 @ 3:01pm
I see that the garbage makes total sense, but the game doesn't react realistic on that (the garbage will pollute the water too early and garbage trucks don't behave very clever). So I think, everyone having problems with those kind of mods should change the asset so no garbage is produced. If then placed on unpolluted ground, it should work fine.
Willy A. Jeep 8 May, 2015 @ 10:37pm
Nope, put it in many different places, just to make sure. I don't know what was up.
Carlzilla  [author] 8 May, 2015 @ 10:20am
I still can't replicate the problem, unless I make a bad placement. Are you placing this in your industrial zone? If so, don't. The game treats all assets that pump water without a shoreline as a water tower, and so it will take into account ground pollution despite the fact that this is supposed to purify the pollution. Without creating a custom building AI, there's nothing I can do about that.
Willy A. Jeep 8 May, 2015 @ 10:11am
Just so you know, I was using this one just recently, and it caused my water pollution to spike at +20% anytime I built one. I went and made sure all my pipes were clear, checked garbage and ground pollution, and couldn't figure anything else out.

Consistently, each time I hooked one into the sewer, my water went bad. Don't know if it's some fault of the mod, or recent updates, or perhaps my own modlist (though I don't have any water altering mods). Felt like I should mention it.
Carlzilla  [author] 11 Apr, 2015 @ 1:15pm
I removed it. It wouldn't save with an updated trash accumulation, so people using it were doomed to have sick cities.
BioRoots 11 Apr, 2015 @ 10:45am
What happen yo your other version ??
Vy 11 Apr, 2015 @ 3:08am
It's a little out of proportion... Other than that, it's pretty sweet.
メMinimumKvass 8 Apr, 2015 @ 5:21pm
makes sense, thank you mate.
Carlzilla  [author] 8 Apr, 2015 @ 4:46pm
No pollution unless you let the garbage pile up. You need to make sure that this facility can be reached by your garbage trucks.
メMinimumKvass 8 Apr, 2015 @ 3:27pm
but no pollution?
oldeguy 7 Apr, 2015 @ 10:10pm
It rocks!!

Splanchnic_Intuition 7 Apr, 2015 @ 3:06pm
Hey look it's a brick sh*thouse :v
Ampelphase 6 Apr, 2015 @ 8:37am
Ah, okay. Thank you very much.
But I guess many make the same mistake which I made judging by all the defective waste water treatment facilities on Steam Workshop.
Anyway, your facility is one of the most intelligent approaches regarding water supply and sewage treatment. In my opinion you even got quite a fair balancing. (:
Carlzilla  [author] 6 Apr, 2015 @ 7:55am
All water buildings hav ethe same options in stats, so load another water building.
Ampelphase 6 Apr, 2015 @ 12:41am
How did you get the water pipe connection working?

If I load the vanilla treatment plant with props and save it, the game says that there was an error with an object reference. If I load it without props, saving works just fine, but there is no water system connector and I think it cannot be set in the asset editor.

So please tell me, how did you do it? (:
Carlzilla  [author] 2 Apr, 2015 @ 1:28pm
It only pumps dirty water if you place it in a polluted area. Treat it like a water pump/tower, not an industrial building.
Nevesbr 2 Apr, 2015 @ 1:19pm
Thank very good.
Carlzilla  [author] 2 Apr, 2015 @ 12:34pm

Das Ding funzt nicht, es Pumpt schmutziges Wasser in die Stadt und die Leute werden Krank.
Carlzilla  [author] 1 Apr, 2015 @ 5:03pm
You need to make sure to check "use existing props and decorations".
