No, the engine isn't capable of displaying the models ported from L4D1 and the newer L4D2 models in the same map, using the L4D1 zombies crashes the game so this is unfortunately only carrying the L4D2 zombies.

No, it just means certain types that are usually only found on some campaigns (CEDA, riot cops, and so on) will appear everywhere.

It uses the same method as mine does, so it's likely to cause the same problems. All I know is I had crashes reported by other users when I did it with my mod. and I experienced the same problems on a fair few campaigns, removing the L4D1 commons sorted that problem for me.

I'm very sure that it was the L4D1 commons causing the problem because my own scripts were very extensively crash tested.

Unfortunately, that's not technically possible. I've got no idea why (best guess: the old models were lazily ported) but the models of the old L4D1 characters are different in coding terms to the models for the L4D2 models. If you try to have a mixture of L4D1 and L4D2 commons in the same map, it will cause the game engine to crash.

This is a custom version I made at someone's request, Gibbs doesn't spawn in this version. Have a look in my workshop for a version of the mutation in which he does spawn (More Commons is probably the best choice)

Good idea :steamhappy:, but like Gibbs you should also remove the clowns. They're inappropriate in most of the maps.

The problem isn't in showing the L4D1 infected, I know how to do that already. The problem is that the models from the old game are different, and if it tries to draw L4D1 and L4D2 models at the same time, it makes the game spaz out with shadow rendering problems and crashes. It was basically just easier for me to omit them, it's something you can't fix without completely re doing the old models which I lack the skills to do.

Someone else made a mod that enables all L4D1 campaigns to show L4D1 common infected. It is under "L4D1 population fix". If you can't find it, I'll fetch a link.
