the error is described as "Bates Motel - Extremely large LOD mesh 20762 vertices"
I think it is incompatible with another mod, because clean vanilla install it is place-able....
AND it is one of the mods on their Top 10 and/or Essential Mod lists

This is probably the best asthetic mod on skylines imo. I put a graveyard next to it and made a canal type swamp with some parked cars near it. Its just off the highway and near a farm area where abatoirs are plentiful. Unfortunately this asset gives constant startup errors of too many verts ie triangles etc. As im not a modder i dont understand what a triangle or vert is, can someone explain and how meshing these triagles will somehow make the 13 mb asset no longer considered 'broken'.??? If Thompson Dylan is now swamped with other projects could someone please dig this asset out of the broken tomb in the pits and revive it properly please?

I also get this error code (too many vertices)! Didn´t had any error in the past with a much earlier CS-Version. Wanted to have it back in a new city. This is very sad because I love it, any chance for an update?

get an error code for this now, says too many vertices,,, it's a great asset though, so i don't know if it's my computer ,, an i5 8gb ram 1tb harddrive but gt 620 graphics card... if that's the problem i apologize for this message.

@enderandrew & all:

There is a high polygon count on this asset. When I first undertook making assets for Cities: Skylines, this was not a major concern for me. I understand that the larger assets may be a slight drain on less beefy computers and I do apologize...mine are in some cases quite large.
I made an effort to get the poly count down as much as I possibly could without making the motel and house look ridiculous.
I have never had an issue with long load times or any other problem running any of my assets in game, and I have only heard a handful of people report any issues.
I will take a look at this again if I am able, but unfortunately work duties have made it difficult to spend the time on it.

I've noticed long load times, so I've been disabling some of the larger assets I've downloaded. Mesh Info reports this mod is one of the worst offenders.

Obviously I installed this because it is a good looking asset, but perhaps you should consider optimizing the mesh to reduce poly count, and/or use smaller textures.

I'm very happy to hear it! If you get a chance, maybe you could link to an image of the tweaked asset in-game. It'd be great to see what people are doing with the original. :)
