Hi there! I explored your map a little bit in what was a very short noob builder creative mode series, I'd used it before and remembered liking it as a challenging one to work with. https://youtu.be/y7BnjuIl3QI

I have played hundreds of hours on this map. This is my absolute favorite. Playing it for the first time with all 81 open now. THIS IS THE BEST DAM MAP OUT THERE.
Emiricol4Rl 10 Jun, 2021 @ 11:33am
Beautiful work on this map! Would this be worth using 81 Tiles? Or are all the useful spaces within the 25 tiles?

I just now had the chance to play this map, and at 15 minutes in, I'm in love! I live in between Chattanooga and the original Tenasi location, and the topography is spot on. Wonderful job and I look forward to exploring the map more as my city grows! Thank you!

@City Planner - Hey, awesome! I've seen your channel pop up on my YT recommendations a few times recently, just haven't had the chance to check it out. Will definitely do so now!

Using this map for my YT series. Excellent map and people really seem to be loving it. One of my personal favorites. Thanks for making it!

I'm playing this map- already reaching a city of 80k- and appreciating it, specially the river outside connection. I don't get it though why there is such a huge difference of elevation between the river and the highlands (for example, the one of the initial title). It's like there is a high shield plateau with lot of buildable area, while the land around the river is few, limited and hard to connect with the highland, except in some specific spots, the altimetry difference is too big. Did this happen because it was necessary to put the river at sea level for it to have an outside connection?

As someone who has been through Tellico, and the former site of "The Meeting Place" very faithful, and well executed, nicely done!

Soon as i saw it being based on the Tennesee River Valley I downlaoded. I live closer to Nashville than Chattanooga, but home is still home.

I love your maps! I barely can play other maps on workshop since I got my hand on yours. Your maps provide just right ammount of challange. My favourite "hobby" on your maps are building several autonomous cities and connect them efficiently!
If I would have request from you... it would be winter map. Some mountain resort.
Madburier 16 Jan, 2018 @ 1:35pm
Excellent map, really having fun with it. I created a huge dam in the largest tributary, re-routed a smaller river to flow in and help fill it, cleared out the soil from behind it making a huge, deep reservior. I then built my city along the flow at the base of the dam and further out to the main river and beyond. Each night after adding to the city, I save it then bulldoze the dam and watch as over 100k people get washed away - too much fun! Thanks for your efforts!

I have an issue on this map.with flying cars.. right through the starting area. The cars come flying from another area which is yet unlocked. someone an idea what could be the problem? btw. the map is really nice

As I wrote, I really love your maps!
Scotland Tom  [author] 1 Aug, 2017 @ 5:52pm
I hear you as far as fixing poor worksmanship from mapmakers is concerned. It's one of the reasons I started creating maps in the first place. And I'll certainly agree that the highways I created for this map two years ago are not as good as I would make them now. Sorry the ones here have caused you trouble. If I decide to make more maps in the future I'll certainly hold myself to a higher standard when constructing the transportation networks!
Angelhearth 1 Aug, 2017 @ 5:42pm
I don't know much about bad highways, the few we have here in Norway are kept at a top standard and even though the speed limit is 100-110 km/h they can easily, for most parts, traffic allowing, accommodate 200 km/h (you will loose your license for ever and get 3-4 months mandatory prisson and a fine of at least 1 month sallary heheh).
Angelhearth 1 Aug, 2017 @ 5:42pm
The thing is that, and this is true of most maps I play, I use half a day just to clean up the highways and train tracks. If I don't I just get irritated when I look at them and end up doing it at some point anyway. The annoying thing with this is that I have to change the terrain and, not knowing how to make real landscape, it ends up with hilly areas where I put up the highways and train tracks. My rule of thumb is: straight in the horisontal plane between points; 4U spacing (so I can have up to 6-lane haighways, in case it's needed), 4U out to the train tracks and 2U between the tracks (I allways put up 2, one for passenger trains and one for cargo trains).
Scotland Tom  [author] 1 Aug, 2017 @ 1:40pm
@Angelhearth - I learned a lot after making the maps I currently have posted on the workshop, including this one. If I were to re-make this two-year-old map there are certainly things I would change, including the highways. I will note, however, that I absolutely have driven on three lane ground level highways not unlike the screenshots you reference. There are stretches of I-96 west of Detroit that are pretty similar.

So, I'm happy to admit there's room for improvement, but please don't insinuate that I've made "no effort at all". That's just unfriendly.
Angelhearth 28 Jul, 2017 @ 2:15am
I love the aesthetics of your maps, but I can't play a map where there has been made no effort at all in making the highways look like real highways. Here are 2 examples:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1092642633
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1092645899

So, when playing your maps the first thing I have to do is deleting and rebuilding the highways.

@Salty - That was a custom graphic created with Illustrator and Photoshop. Sadly I misplaced the files when I upgraded my computer, so it would have to be recreated.
Salty314 18 Jan, 2017 @ 3:44pm
@Scotland Tom How did you make that symbol on the lower left side, I want to know to put it on my scenario. If you allow it of course!
Scotland Tom  [author] 17 Jan, 2017 @ 6:53pm
@SaltyGlaceon - Sure! Similar to what I told captainradish, if you wouldn't mind acknowledging where the map came from and adding a link in the description, you're welcome to create and share whatever awesome scenarios you come up with!
Salty314 17 Jan, 2017 @ 11:57am
Scotland Tom, can I use this map to make a scenario and your other ones?:steamhappy:
Scotland Tom  [author] 11 Jan, 2017 @ 2:00pm
@RichGunzUSA - No problem! Just couldn't tell from plain text is all.

@Scotland Tom Im just pulling your leg bro, I read the description.
Scotland Tom  [author] 10 Jan, 2017 @ 7:13am
@RichGunzUSA - Sorry, dude, I legitimately can't tell if you're being sarcastic. Tenasi/Tanasi is the name of the Cherokee town from which the modern 'Tennessee' is derived. Check the description.
905_Icy 8 Jan, 2017 @ 4:22pm
I think you misspelled Tennessee
