This is one of the best assets in the workshop. Small (just 1 tile), placeable anywhere (so you can utilize it to, for example, fill the land somewhere in between highways where it's inconvenient to place anything else) and with just a handful of these you can create energy-producing fields to power up an entire city. Or, at least, it's more than enough to power up your city at a start. Thank you, the author, for this must-have mod!

I have same problem here. I tried to do my own asset. But i messed it up and broke game. I tried it like in this guide . There is section about this.

I also get the road access notice.

I used a mod tool to check the placement, and it is 'on ground', which is correct and it should not have the notice ...seems to be a bug with the game itself.

Yeah, I get the road access notice as well. It's very annoying.

@unseen4cs, When I created this asset over a year ago there was no road placement requirement. I haven't played in a while so I'm not sure if the updates have changed some behaviors

Why do they have to be placed beside roads, most people would expect to be able to use these near a water pump etc, but you cannot because of the road access requirement which makes no sense.

Update underway, stay tuned

Yeah im also getting a "Not connected to road" icon too, small problem since it is still 100% functional just helps get rid of all those annoying icons. Thanks! Love you work, especially for supplying remote buildings like water pumps!

Can this be updated for AD? It appears that no matter where I put a panel down, I get the "road incomplete" icon. Thanks!
SnakesRaven 19 Apr, 2015 @ 8:41pm
Just what I needed. Thank you for a great job!

Thanks for the feedback. I understand the output is not realistic. Most of the game's vanilla power outputs are not realistic. I believe the 1MW output is adjusted accordingly to the games style of unrealistic output.
romannets 16 Apr, 2015 @ 4:34am
Please make the power realistic a panel like this in the real world would make 20Kw tops. 50 - 100kW with advanced nano technology of the next 5- 10 yrs. Being genours saying its 100kW would make it 0.1 mW remember.
colttenney  [author] 7 Apr, 2015 @ 2:25pm
Hey everybody! I'd really love so see some screenshots of your creations with these panels!
Tom Martow 7 Apr, 2015 @ 11:54am
@colttenney just more panels in a grid.

Just one panel per grid but a bigger radius with the correct values please.
colttenney  [author] 7 Apr, 2015 @ 11:18am
@Tom Martow: You mean ones with larger models or just more panels, in a larger grid?
Tom Martow 7 Apr, 2015 @ 8:21am
Hey, could you make 4x4 and 8x8 versions as well please?
Katalepsis 4 Apr, 2015 @ 8:55pm
This is pretty awesome, thank you!
colttenney  [author] 4 Apr, 2015 @ 11:19am
I update the cost and upkeep so it is closer to vanilla solar but still more expensive as you pay for the looks and modularity.
MaxPower 4 Apr, 2015 @ 8:16am
I'm gonna line all my highways with this :)
david.drexler2 4 Apr, 2015 @ 7:23am
Just wonderful idea :)
Duraphat5000 4 Apr, 2015 @ 6:39am
Upkeep seems a little high as the in game solar plant gives about $7 per MW but I'll just change that for my own use, thanks!
roberto tomás 4 Apr, 2015 @ 5:47am
very cool — is that upkeep right? it just seems high
