Fantastic map, but perhaps better suited as a 2v2 or 4v4 since the map is essentially split into 2 "lanes". In 3v3 at least one player on each side will have to split their focus and troops across both of them.

Great map, had a nearly 2 and a half hour game on this, there's so many different positions to fight over and trade ground.

Set up in the middle with a bunch of Paratroopers using Wikinger, highly recommend this map and that mod.

Moin, Klasse habe extra danach gesucht, weil ich gestern eine Doku auf YouTube geschaut habe. Die Wehrmacht war in Italien sehr erfolgreich in der Defensive. Lag aber wohl auch an dem Gelände :BalkanCross:

Great map as usual. Had one trouble spot ammo dump in lower right corner of map directly south of the bases. Inserted Brit Commando into building to right of ammo point and was unable to exit building other than into the woods. Unit remained stuck in woods even after tossing several Gammon bombs trying to blow their way out. Map made before leader ability perhaps?

Part 2:CrossedBlades:If you start to work on a Map, and you use around 150 - 200 Houers for it, its importand that the work is intressting for you. Thats why i will not make a Map , where the Territory is so close to another one ! All my Maps are completly different, and i also try to bring the Community always something realy new !
but i want you to know , that i always have intresst about Ideas, thats why my Answer is so long.

:soviet:Monte Castelo would be a very intressting Map-Project. It was not the only battle with brasilian Forces , but for sure the hardest :)
I was checking out Photos of Monte Castelo, but the Problem is this : I realy like to make every time when i start a Project, something completly new ! Monte Castelo Battlefield looks very close to Monte Cassino, its a Abey on a Mountain and a Valley close by.Monte Cassino was my Joice, because it was the hardest battle at all on the Italy Front and because of all Nations was Fighting there ( without Japan :KneelingBow:) !

New Info : within 5 Weeks will come my last Map for 2015 : a complete remake of the original Pointe du Hoc ! I changed ym plan for a 6 player map to a 8 player Version because its a Monster Project , eaven bigger then Monte Cassino. I make this Map with air and ground Photos from the original place in 1944.
Ps,; a newVersion of this map will not be avaible, but in 2016 i will make new maps. The first one will be the 3th Map for my Operation Overlord trilogy : Pegasus Bridge - as the Britain part from the Invation of western Europe in 1944 !

INFO :Monte casino Finnal Update : Wind and water direction was changing with the Weather , this is now fixt and the Water will not change the direction anymore :)
Popcap also changed to the Standart of 100 (use Mods for more ) !

Thats a good Question. If you play with Victorypoints and set Hard or Expert Enemys , the Bridges will be importand and the Monestary will be very importand ! If you play annihilation for sure, destroying the bases goes faster. I made the Bridges esspecial for games vs Experts or Games vs Human Players. Dont forgeth : between the 2 Bridges is also a open water way. The thing is some like it and some not, but Fakt is : you can not make a map perfet for all players out there, eaven if i try my best :) ....also dont forgeth : Mappers makes maps for themself and there Friends. This maps are free shared with the Comunity eaven if some of this maps needs hundret or more houers of work.
If you dont like Bridges check out the last map for 2015,i will release on the 20th Nov. in a few Days. 8 Player Map !

I really like this map, but one question, wouldn't it make more sense from a tactical sandpoint to remove the two bridges between the starting positions? It would give the monestary a whole lot more value. What is the point of taking it if I can go straight to the enemy base.

Pretty funny you ask for all the stuff i had in my Head when i was making this map LoTeK :)
The mainreason why i diddent made the BF1942 Version was because then the Germans will loose auto when they are beaten in the Abbey. And the Main reason was for sure that i like to make Historical maps . If you look air Photos of Monte Cassino you will see that the streets and mountains are the same as on my Map , and the mainpoint was also thej Lyre Valley with the road to Rom over the Gustav Line , Dont forgeth the Gustav Line was the Main Reason why the Germans was so Strong at this Position.

Thanks! Very good looking map, I can see a lot of efforts put into it. If you have time, could do a remake of BF1942 Monte Cassino? Or eventually, if that's not possible, could you make a version of this one with axis start points inside the monastery and allies from the two up sides each one? Thank you.

The reason is maybe that you dont work on the collor of the Slines and maybe you also dont use splats for it, espessial on the top of cliffs you "must"use another spline for making the border to the grassland(also you can use a rocky Groundcollor- best would be if you use all of it )!

also i never use 1 type of splines for a cliff ( minimum 3 ) and you must use the collor tool, make it inviseble on some positions and work with ground collors on that positions !
For my new map i made a making of : Beach with Cliffs, 50 Houers of work in a 24 min video , i will add it to my new map but take a early look so you see how i make cliffs.

Sorry to hear that , but i told you how it works for me. Maybe you have also another problem , because if it works in the Worldbuilder it also have to work on the Map ! I was trying to help, realy sad if you give up :(
But i gues your Map will be also ok on day-time :)
maybe you have also the Daylight bug ?!
:critical:Try to set another weather beore the night for only 1 second, and set the change time to the night on 0, this will also let you start at night and with a night begin the game auto activates the Lights ( thats the last trick i had for you-give it a try )

That's very helpful, thank you. I had it set to night with a transition to silent_night1 and still nothing. :\ In the world builder, my lights work. But ingame, not so much... So I gave up and made it a day map. >_>

Part 2: Importand : the first Weather effect need to have a 0 infront ( no changing time ) only then it starts directly with this effect ! anything after it needs time to change (minimum 120 to 300 i would use )! There is a preview Butten on the side , after you was Adding a Weather make a Preview to find the perfect one for your Map !!
This is the easy solution !!! Hope i could help

@Trenzalore : Part 1 : If you make a new Map ( automaticly it is a Day Map ) you have to change it to a Night Map !
In the Worldbuilder open : Szenario,Admosphere Properties and in this Option you must change under "Sunlight" the :Time of Day....to ; night !
If nothing works ...here is a trick ...will work in all cases : In the same Window you have to scrol down and open the otion :Transitions ! There you can ADD all kind of Weather Types from the existing relic Maps in coh2 ! take a nightmap and automatic all your lights will be on !
Ps.: If you want a sunrise you also can add it after it, the number behind is the seconds this effect will stay and you can change it by clicking on it ( btw : 600 will be 10 min. ) also before the weather effecrt you have a number : that is the time it will need to change the weather to the next !

Hey Hobbit, ....the reason why i made it as an 6 Player Map is because there are 3 Main ways and 1 sideway , perfectly for 3 Player in each Team. I playd the map with some Mates about 20 Times and never had any proplems on the right flank. (Also no other Community-Member)
My tipp for you ; stop sitting on the right flank and attack over the it :)
The Map have maybe too many Flagpoints and i will make not that many on my next Projects !

:critical:News: Soon is the release of my next Historical Map, i work every day on it and i guess the release will be next Friday !!
